We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Good game. You level up. Gear up. Think you're done. Then you're halfway through. Then think you're done, and you have 100 boss battles left. five stars.
very good
After completing the main story within ~100hrs (Excluding post content which normally happens in the Octopath Series games) 100% achievement by 113hrs mark. Its significanly easier than OT1 and OT2 as a game end-game content. I can recommend the game to those who like RPGs and is willing to sit down for a very... long story. Story I would give it a 7.5/10. I desperately wished that the main story would end at like the 60-70hr mark. Some moments felt dragged out or filler. Some of the characters exclusive to this game are very forgettable. There are no side quests character stories like in OT1/2. The new cast of characters' only story time is when you recruit them or party chat in Wishvale. The only characters that really mattered are the protagonist, Stia + Wishvale cast, and the main story characters. (I should've expected as much for a mobile game) It was pleasant to see returning characters, however it doesn't matter if this game ended up being someone's first Octopath game with no character story or exclusive sidequests for them other than the character recruitment quest. Music is 10/10. Never got tired of tuning out to RPG fantasy music. Gameplay is a 8/10 This gameplay is very different from OT1 and OT2. I would say I'm indifferent to the changes from OT1 and OT2. It took a bit of learning how the skill inheritance for characters worked for OT0. Building your own character was fun. The biggest downside to me was OT0 is that it is eight times more grindy than OT1 and OT2. You have to grind for your 8-man team. So you're going to need to buy eight times the gear from shops or you need to constantly reorganize your teams to what you need. There are items and skills that make the number grind a bit easier. This grind only gets worse for the sheer amount of recruitable characters are in this game. (There are a lot...) I tried not to entreat (save) sum as much, but you can do it just like in OT1/2. And getting higher level gear early on can make the grind less painful. I didnt really care for the city-builder (Wishvale) I just built what was needed for the quest requirements. However, it was pretty mandatory to recruit some of the characters. You also need to finish Wishvale to help make the grind a lot less painful as residents give you gifts. (Items that you don't have to constantly buy like heal items, SP items etc.) and the money can be allocated to gear instead.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I came into this with little expectation after knowing it came from a mobile gacha but boy oh boy... There was so much packed into this game, the start was a bit slow, I even put it down for a few weeks, but after I came back and played some more everything clicked I dont know if its as good as OT2 but I know its close, really loved it
If you wanted a more single story focused Octopath this is it. Genuinely enjoyed my time with the game. The town decorating didn't click at first but ended up being such a time sink. Ontop of the customization allowing for a lot of very dumb but fun things is great. Overall very fun, some weak story in like some spots near the middle but the entire final section makes up for that. Got my 100% whilst still enjoying the game plenty. The balance is a bit all over the place but imo the easiest octopath by far, if you use the systems it gives you. I think I haven't used a single consumable item besides nuts and sp outside of battle some times. And the food which is great addition, bless the fruit tray.
Octopath Traveler 0 is a content-rich JRPG that adapts its former mobile gacha structure into a standalone PC/console-style experience. It offers fun combat customization, a strong main twist, and plenty of systems to experiment with, but its mobile roots make the overall journey feel fragmented, repetitive, and more exhausting than exciting.
Pros:
Dynamic Eight-Character Combat: The paired frontline/backline system makes battles more active, letting characters rotate, recover HP and SP, build Brave Points, and trigger useful effects depending on their position. Deep Skill Customization: Learning skills from recruited characters and turning some of them into equipable items allows for strong build variety and creative party setups. Satisfying Power Progression: The game can be heavily broken through equipment, passive skills, and ability combinations, which makes optimization and “snowballing” very fun. Fully Customizable Protagonist: The main character can eventually access all eight jobs and copy abilities, giving players a lot of freedom to shape their playstyle. Good Main Story Moments: Even though the structure is messy, the main plot and its twist are engaging enough to hold attention at key points. Useful Quality-of-Life Options: The ability to increase battle speed up to 2x helps reduce some of the grind and makes combat flow better. Interesting Town Reconstruction Idea: Rebuilding a town is a cool addition that gives the game a distinct side activity, even if its execution is limited.
Cons:
Fragmented Mobile Structure: The game still feels like a converted mobile title, with small maps, short dungeon layouts, disconnected story blocks, and a lack of overall cohesion. Exhausting Pacing: Despite having a lot of content, the 100% journey feels overly long and padded, making the experience more tiring than rewarding. Weak Character Integration: With 36 recruitable characters, many join after brief quests, say very little, and then disappear from the story, making most of the cast feel shallow. Awkward Story Progression: Seeing the credits multiple times before the real journey is over makes parts that should feel like postgame content seem strangely placed inside the main story. Limited Town-Building Freedom: The reconstruction system is a nice idea, but placement restrictions, fixed buildings, and construction limits make it feel underdeveloped. Overly Restricted Progression: Stronger characters and better options are locked behind specific story points, making much of the early and mid-game feel like filler before the fun systems fully open up. Tedious Random Battles: Once the player becomes powerful, random encounters stop being challenging and instead become unavoidable interruptions. Uninteresting Side Quests: Most side content relies on backtracking and simple enemy fights, while companion stories lack enough depth to make them memorable. Performance Issues: Stuttering and frame drops can happen, though it is unclear whether this comes from the game’s optimization or the system itself.
Final Rating: B
Rating from lowest to highest: C, B, A, S.
I've played both OT1 and OT2 before and I was very skeptical of this one simply because it IS a mobile game (you know). hours into the game, and my mind has changed. The story captures what an adventure should be Even though it's graphically worse than OT2, gameplay-wise it's really damn good. graphics 5/10 music 10/10 story 10/10 It was really fun (already spent 115 hours) and ofc there's Galdera (its mandatory to beat this one for the true ending)
