For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Occupy Mars is a technical, open-world sandbox, survival game about Mars colonization inspired by the most promising technologies and companies that are working towards the goal of humanity becoming a multi-planet species.
Explore different regions of Mars while searching for valuable resources, discover mining sites, and find the best place to build a city. Remember that you need to find a relatively leveled area with good access to underground water in a place where temperatures don't drop too much during the night.

Build and upgrade your base, craft equipment, mine resources, produce water, oxygen and food, explore an open world, and repair complex machinery in a technical survival sandbox.

Manage your energy production and build your electricity grid. Make sure that there is enough water, oxygen, power, and food to survive.

Fix broken parts using realistic electronic components and tools. Learn the basics soldering, using hot air, measurement tools, and all the details necessary to fix your equipment.

Upgrade your vehicles and equipment in your garage. Organize your workshop and modify your rover. Change crane hydraulics, operate the robotic arm, dig for valuable resources, build mining rigs, and more...

Build greenhouses, oxygen tanks, fuel generators, connect all the pipes and cables, and remember about proper cable management. Grow your own food.

Experience an open-world sandbox game with a realistic day/night cycle and overcome real challenges that colonists face. Build solar arrays and batteries for energy storage, upgrade them, and find the optimal way to power your colony.

Occupying Mars is not always easy. Sometimes things will explode, break or not go exactly as planned. Learn to cope with "Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly.” Sometimes you have to really act quickly before you run out of air, food, or energy.

...but most importantly HAVE FUN on Mars!

Reviews
The negative reviews of this game do not come close to describing how bad it is. This is not a game ready for release. It's a playable alpha that is almost ready to enter Early Access. There is no good reason for this to be considered a full release. Had this game, in its current form, come out in 1995 it would be the greatest thing ever. However, computers are better now, games are more sophisticated now, and this one fails in every single aspect. The developers should be ashamed at how they've duped people into thinking they strive to make quality games...this is the complete opposite.
It's in Early Access and still needs some work. That being said, I like to feel like I'm truly lost in a hostile planet and trying my best to build a new life. A true Mars survival game.

Welcome to the 1.0 release! Where they haven't finished the campaign, and that caused a problem they only recently fixed which locked you out of 2 of the techs. It's "full release" but still very much feels like it's early access, so if you're going to buy do so with that in mind.
They said that in update 1.2 you can configure tons of settings like length of a day, etc. I bought it and ... bought it. They didn't do that in fact. It only works in sandbox mode, but you still have to power through the campaign and then keep enough interest for another playthrough to be able to do that. The campaign itself sucks. You've crash-landed on Mars and yadda-yadda, yay, Subnautica in space, sounds fun and I loved the early demo. What you figure out past the 2-hour refund mark though, is that you have about 5 days worth of food, and of course, a bit of hunger makes you useless quasi-instantly, oh and also the lander starts to die by day 3, and you'll never make it. So the game is not about enjoying your newbie experience, but about dying and retrying repeatedly just to find the exact chess moves in the proper order so you can survive. Not my idea of fun. Subnautica it is not. It's like a cornucopia of bad design decisions. You ran out of food. You can't even sleep through the night (can't go outside, the cold kills you instantly), so you have to just sit around watching youtubes. Remember "Take On Mars"? They took THAT from them. An amazon cardboard box is too hightech for these designers, so enjoy inventory management hell. I've just built a Workshop, there are plenty of boxes outside, can I use them to drop some stuff inside? Noooo. Weather and meteorites are scripted. You ran out of tech subparts? You can try and dismantle these parts over there. Oh, you need a level 2 grinder. Need to factor that in. Darn it, have to restart. Maybe I could run around and mine something? Nope, remember, about 20 minutes of daylight, inventory management hell, chess moves. You can't change any gameplay settings, apparently a longer time of day or less or no weather/meteorites would be too much fun, so it's less a game than a slightly interactive experience. You either do what the devs' script is expecting you to, follow the befehle to the letter or restart. Not too far from the proverbial "press A to console widow".
This game may or may not be an asset flip. I cannot say for sure but it sure feels like one. This game leaves the player more lost than a blind man during a shootout. No idea what to do, the mission briefings dont really say anything (at one point, the mission prompt would literally say "no translation available"). UI and menu navigation is a complete hell. Mining is an extremelly tedious activity and makes no much sense at all. You have to drill a rock twice (?) to get wathever the content of it may or may not bet (you do not know what it will be, so it is literally a russian roulette). Apparently there is no iron on mars either... I didnt wasted my time further with this game. It may or may not be fun in co-op, but i dont feel any kind of motivation to try and sell it to my friends just so i can try the co-op, but by the looks of it, it wont be any better.
EN/RU EN Not recommended (for now) I really wanted to like this game. The idea is great, the atmosphere works, and overall the game clearly has potential. But releasing it in this state was a mistake. The biggest issue is that the campaign can be completely blocked by critical bugs right after release. When a main quest breaks and progression simply stops, that’s not a minor inconvenience — that’s a release-level problem. On top of that, many core mechanics are poorly explained or not explained at all. Power networks, oxygen production, base systems, logistics, vehicles — instead of learning these systems from the game, I had to rely on guides, forums, and external help. A game should teach its own mechanics. A small but very telling example: loading cargo boxes onto a quad bike. The game says it’s possible. How to do it? No explanation. I tried approaching from every angle imaginable — front, back, sides, above, below, diagonally. Nothing works. The most common advice online? “Just reload the game.” Why should I play a game that expects me to restart it just to make basic mechanics work? And this is only one small example out of many similar issues. Add to this: clunky and unreliable aiming/interactions, systems that behave inconsistently or counterintuitively, bugs that constantly make you wonder whether something is broken or you’re simply missing some hidden rule. The result is frustration instead of immersion. You don’t feel like you’re surviving on Mars — you feel like you’re fighting the game itself. Right now this feels much closer to Early Access than to a finished 1.0 release. When the critical bugs are fixed and the core systems are properly polished and explained, I’ll gladly revisit this review and change my rating. For now, I can’t recommend it — despite the good ideas behind it.
My playtime is currently 297.6 hours, and I've completed both the campaign and sandboxing mode multiple times. While the cons are pretty bad for me, I'll still give this game a thumbs-up for the fun it offers as a survival simulator. Pros: 1. Great concept for a survival game, and a workable implementation, too. I like the exploration 2. Jet Pack was an awesome idea; while a bit quirky, it works once you figure it out. It is the fastest mode of transport in the game. 3. The ATV (only with a Rocket) is a lot of fun. You can gain considerable and frightful heights with it going full blast up a hill. 4. Base building is fun, and learning to fill it with oxygen can be a challenge. Cons: 1. Endgame sucks and feels pointless. It’s a major letdown, especially compared to Subnautica, which outshines Occupy Mars. Developers make players slog through a grind of gathering resources for building launch pads and the ITS Rocket, which demands a huge resource sink. But the main issue is the lack of payoff or sense of completion once you finish, leaving players hanging. They did not even bother to create an epic cinematic moment at the end that lets you enter the ship that you just spent a ton of time building, nor is there anything showing the payoff of the Rocket blasting off and you returning home. At least Subnautica did that, which was a very cool endgame experience and felt like the proper payoff. How lame to end the game with cutting to the end credits after entering the elevator to take you up to the gantry to enter the rocket. So lame. I was genuinely pissed. 2. Some buildings have no purpose to exist, like the: a. Canteen b. Hangar c. Lobby You cannot outfit the Canteen with the normal amenities one would expect in such a facility, so it remains empty of tables, chairs, and the like that are shown in the early campaign game with the starting base before all hell breaks loose. Same for the Lobby, which only allows for a few stations. And let's not forget the very forgettable Hangar, which I no longer care to bother building, as it offers absolutely no benefit to the player at all. There is still no internal oxygen port to refill the Rovers' oxygen supply, and forget maneuvering in and out of the Hangar with the Rover, as they never figured out how to properly make it work in reverse, like an actual trailer attached. The steering is awful in reverse. The developers could solve this by making a drive-through version of the Hangar with doors on both ends and moving the corridor attachment to the side of the building instead. And lastly, the Gantry Crane to refit the Rover with whichever trailer you want, provided you've built them, still doesn't work either. For a version 1.1 game, it still feels very unpolished. 3. Motorbike is lame as it drives like crap, so not worth building one. Not very realistic even in lower gravity. What could have been a saving grace for the current version of the Motorbike would have been adding a Rocket Engine, as you can with the ATV. It would have been nuts, yes, but tons of fun.
This could be a great game, but IT'S BUGGY AS HECK. Playing the sandbox, four starts and I have yet to be able to build the first base. I always come up short of components, mostly small and medium circuit boards. You have to salvage then. There is a recipe in the printer for them but they can't be printed. I've salvaged EVERYTHING, and no circuit boards to be found. What I can't understand is that I hear posts of folks who have got past this, and thread about circuit boards never mention the supply shortage. Is there some game mechanic I'm missing? I would write more but I have not been able to play enough to have an opinion.
Really, really like this game...when I can play it. Up until the 1.0 launch it was fairly stable. After? Forget it My system has plenty of RAM, processor power, drivers are updated, plenty of HDD space. Verified files...reloaded whole game and multiple restarts of the save file. IF they ever fix this crashing issue, I'll try again, but moving on until then. Very disappointing.
