sadly, i have to leave a negative review even if the game is absolutely amazing, solely for the fact that the game's camera causes me intense headaches and nauses due to the FOV, the option to change from ortographic perspect was a giant step in the right direction, but not having any control over the FOV is the sole reason i cannot play it to a frustatingly degree

This review will be short and sweet. Megaquarium is a great aquarium version of a game in the vein of the Tycoon series (Roller Coaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, etc.). It has you handling tanks of a wide variety of sea creatures, ranging from simple, tiny fish all the way up to enormous sharks; they also have you creating marine living spaces for corals and the like (including a thing I'd never heard of, gorgonians!). To succeed in this, you also have to run a successful business, but on the base difficulty its not that hard. Patience basically wins out. All the different creatures have different needs, exclusions and criteria for living. So you are pressed to not just make big tanks and throw everything in, but to thoughtfully craft differing spaces. You have to manage the filtration and temperatures of the tanks too, and that, along with most ongoing maintenance and chores, is left to your staff, who you must also manage (and who have differing stats and can even level up after a certain point in the game). Personally, I just played through the 10 campaign missions, and that gave me the variety and interesting guardrails I needed to keep the game interesting, while also introducing new concepts at a nice pace so I never felt overwhelmed or bored. All in all, if you are in the market for a fairly chill aquarium management sim, I'd endorse Megaquarium. 7.5 / 10

Very nicely balanced mechanics plus intuitive menus and controls. Anyone who likes builders/management games needs to try this one!
Like a fishy Zoo Tycoon of yesteryear, but with some quality of life upgrades. I would like it to be more playable on my deck, but it runs great on my potato laptop at least. I do wish that there were more campaigns/story mode or at least a scenario editor though.
