It's a great game, similiar to Banished, just way bigger and for me - more pleasant. I was playing solo and with my wife, it's fun, challanging at times. I just wished that it had somewhat more interaction between players, maybe some more options in diplomacy/war. That part is pretty straight forward and simple. Cards are something unique, but since you can ctrl-c ctrl-v buildings it loses purpose - needed only to build one building of each type and cards become almost useless. Looking forward for updates that expands diplomatic parts and interaction. If you liked Banished, you will love Kingdoms Reborn, its really good and entertaining, still early access but full of content for many long hours of joy. Or stress and frustration when you run out of coal/wood AND medicine in the middle of the winter. Good luck with that scenario.

I'm neutral on this game. Plots are very small, buildings are very big. Makes it very difficult and uncomfortable to play in my opinion. Yes almost 30 hrs game play but a lot of restarts and I don't think I've ever quite come close to accomplishing anything close to an ending.

It's not really a negative review, but early access updates happen once in a blue moon. Overall nice card based city builder, that I hope, will be finished in reasonable amount of time.
I've played city builders for years—Banished, Cities: Skylines, SimCity, and many others—and I can honestly say that Kingdoms Reborn is one of the best I've ever played. I genuinely don't understand why it isn't more popular or why more people aren't talking about it. What makes this game special is how alive everything feels. Storage management is incredibly satisfying because you can actually watch your citizens transporting resources around the map. Seeing your economy function in real time makes every decision feel meaningful. The statistics are excellent, making it easy to understand what's happening in your settlement. On top of that, the visuals are absolutely beautiful. Whether you're gathering fruit, farming, or watching your town grow, the game has a lot of charm. Another thing that really stands out is how polished it is. After many hours of playing, I've encountered almost no bugs, which is rare for a game of this scope. If I had to point out a few areas for improvement, they would be: AI kingdoms could be a bit more aggressive to make the world feel more dynamic. The combat system has never been one of the game's strongest features. Multiplayer trading could be much more immersive. Instead of resources instantly appearing in another player's town, it would be great to see carts or pack animals physically transporting goods between settlements. Overall, Kingdoms Reborn is an outstanding city builder that deserves far more attention than it gets. If you're a fan of the genre, I highly recommend giving it a try.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The City-Builder I’ve Been Waiting For! I have spent countless hours in the city-building genre, but Kingdoms Reborn is easily one of my favorites in years. It takes the best elements of classics like Banished and Anno, then elevates them with unique mechanics that make every playthrough feel different. What Makes It Stand Out: The Card System: I was skeptical at first, but the deck-building mechanic is brilliant. It prevents the "optimal build order" fatigue found in other games and forces you to adapt your strategy based on what you draw. Massive Open World: The scale is incredible. Being able to see other civilizations on a seamless map—and eventually trade or compete with them—adds a layer of immersion that most survival builders lack. Multilayered Progression: Moving from a tiny tribe to a sprawling industrial empire feels earned. The tech tree is satisfying, and the era transitions are beautifully handled. Co-op & Multiplayer: Playing this with friends is a game-changer. Whether we are helping each other survive a harsh winter or competing for resources, the multiplayer is smooth and adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay. The Verdict The developer is incredibly active, the art style is charming, and the music is the perfect backdrop for a long gaming session. If you love managing resources, optimizing supply chains, and watching a civilization thrive, do not skip this one.
I had high hopes for this game but after years of minimal updates I don't think it's ever going to be 'finished'. You can have some fun here, and the price is fair, but the replayability factor is low for the genera. I really think they were on to something and I hope I'm wrong about the game being left to wither.
It's very fun, but it's also designed to be the ultimate time suck, and not in a great way. This is the reason for the non-recommendation. Additionally, the game has a built in limiter to how large your city can become to force you to use outposts, which is just you playing the first half of the game over again at the same time as playing the original. It isn't fun, it's annoying. It's a good game overall, but I cannot recommend this to anyone who is an actual adult. Your time is better spent elsewhere. Currently you can only 4x speed the game, and believe me, 8x and 16x are desperately needed.
The seven-province cap, minimal tutorial, and the micromanaging are deal breakers. I want to play a game not work a job. Also, the cards are completely unnecessary.
I really enjoy this game, but it needs better optimization. It becomes unplayable around midgame with extreme (mouse) lagging and stuttering. I've tried lowering the graphic settings and prioritizing the processing of the game, but no improvement. I have no problem playing similar games graphic-wise.
