As a fans of former KB titles (crossworlds, darkside) I have neutral opinion for this KB II, some things I like better here, some don't. But as a RPG and strategy fans, this is such a great game, I ended up completing the game 3 times with each characters to 100% completion. What I like: - The branching quests which led to different stories and consequences. Though it doesn't change the main plot, to see the different fate of NPCs due to our choices is quite satisfying and adds more replay values. - Pretty cool armor and troops designs. - Decent amount of troop variants each with different stats and skills. It's fun to try them all to create army compositions, the morale limitation is quite annoying though. - The combat is super fun if you like turn base strategy games, but it's not for everyone. - Super cheap!!! What I dislike: - Limiting unit stacks, if I remember correctly the only limitation to recruit units in the old KB is the protagonist leadership. Now it's further limited per-stack which is annoying and make the weak unit practically useless late game. There will be no Paladin with absurd number of archer/peasant for example which strength can rival higher tier unit, here we can only bring ten at most, very disappointing. - The map could be bigger (I miss the adventure through different islands or even realms from previous KB), and the terrain could be better, there are a lot of weird clippings that make my char stuck quite often. - Too many named trash, there is almost no excitement in opening chest/treasure since most of the content are sold-only trashes. They make the inventory unnecessarily clunky. Previous KB would offer various useful things to loot while exploring (even an army sometimes) - Unbalance difficulty, easy is too easy where normal(or hard) is quite punishing since there are very few stock of units and gold/enemies to farm, especially in early game, losing too much unit from battles can result a deadlock (except by loading early saves) since the road related to main plot usually guarded by strong enemies. Honestly it's sad to see such a bad review score, kinda reminds me to Trine 3 when that one get bad reviews after trying the 3D approach, resulting the next games going back into 2D. Hopefully that won't be the case for this, since I have good experience here. Though I'm pessimistic that there will be any continuation at all for KB II in current state.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I am writing this review as a player who did not have experience with previous games from this serie. At the begining I was pretty interested into main quest story, all side conversations between NPCs, found texts scattered across world, however after 5-6 hours I was already quickly reading texts and skipping cutscenses. Main hero (I was playing as this paladin girl) is completely unlikeable seriously after several of her dialogues I was wondering if I should change the character and start from scratch again, but then I looked at the amount of already completed quests and was like hell nah man. About Quests typical for any of such games, run there talk with someone grab something and go back again, buuuuut there was something which I assume developers found pretty interesting PUZZLES. FFS THE WORST PART OF ANY QUEST WAS TO SOLVE SOME PUZZLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAD WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF SOME RUNE WORDS WHICH THEN HAD RANDOM SIGN WHICH I WAS UNAWARE OF AND YOU NEED TO REPEAT WHOLE SEQUENCE AND REPEAT AND REPEAT. But yeah quests forced you to travel across the world map and if the first part of this small map till Magefactory was pretty nice, there was plenty of NPCs, quests, points of interests, then 2nd part I felt like it was desolated, like developers run out of time and did not implement everything what they wanted. AND THE FCKING COLLISION MESHES... BEHOLD OF MIGHTY HERO AND HIS/HER HORSE WHO CAME HERE TO SAVE US FROM THE BADDIES. YOU KNOW THE BIGGEST ENEMY OF THIS GAME IS ANY GROUND ELEVATION STARTING FROM RANDOM RUBBLE, STONE OR SIMPLE HIGHT DIFFERENCE IN PAVEMENT. Moreover to encourage you to sightsee the world there were different hidden treasures. If your hero in Baldur Gates was telling you "Cursed to lay hands on everything" when you checked 127th barrel in this game the same hero would simply off himself. But most important thing here were fights and they were nice, limitation to 5 units, different tiers of units and the skill which was responsible for amount of units in the stack was pretty nice and gave feeling of progression UNTIL YOU ARE FIGHTING ENEMIES AS PART OF THIS QUEST WHERE YOU NEED TO GET READ OF THE PLAGUE OR SICKNESS FROM THIS HOODED GUY. AFTER 5TH FIGHT I WAS LIKE UGHHH AGAIN?! Especially that you were forced to fight with already scripted army, you could not change it. Overall If you see this game on sale for 5 dollars go for it, you will spend ok-ish 20-40 hours if you do not have anything else to play. Otherwise it is not worth it.
The game, while passable for a typical rpg, should not bear the King's Bounty name. It lacks the charm of the original and the remake (published by 1c) and takes itself far too seriously without the necessary story elements or polish to back it up. The running around is just tedious and the combat is seriously unfun and infrequent.
This is not a successor to the King's Bounty, it's another game that tries to be a Witcher with turn-based battles. If you love the previous game, you will not find it here. As a strategy game its quite boring, all of the battles are practically same. Hero upgrade tree is for weak of the mind and doesn't have meaningful choices. As an RPG game, all of your choices come to whether fight that guy or another guy. No dialogue options, lol. How can an RPG game have no dialogues...Developers ate mushrooms and made totally different game and called KB2. Avoid this atrocity at all cost, even if its on sale - dont buy it. Just play KB legend or KB princess. Peace.
So much undeserved hate for this game.
Many reviews addressing old issues or riding a nostalgia train. Game is actually a really good successor to the previous games. Gaining something and losing something in certain aspects, but still a good attempt to reinvent the series. Once you remove your nostalgia glasses and give it a fair chance, you will not be disappointed.
I so so so wanted to like this game after investing hundreds of hours into the previous Kings Bounty games. However, the decision to go third person was horrible and ruined the experience quickly. I want to be able to play my strategy games with my mouse, and maybe a quick key or two, but not to constantly travel around and get sick looking for little chests and other items. The combat also seems lacking compared to the other games, and the view here was also bad. Plus, you can reload your troops after any fight as long as you have resources and the at least the stack was still alive. At first I thought this was a good addition, but then you never need to change your troops, which is so fun in the first games.
If you increase the character movement speed manually, the game becomes much more enjoyable. In comparison to previous releases, a lot of things were improved and redesigned here. Feels fresh and fun to play! Solid 8/10.
The combat maps are painfully small. And you only have 5 armies to fight. At the same time the combats are slow af. Quests are all errands that you do in MMORPGs. You have a semi-open world but you walk like a snail and your horse is no better. You can't control your horse well cuz you can only turn when walking forward and the paths are narrow af.
72/100 Not sure if it's because of lack of time or money but this game just feels unfinished/rushed. The game became progressively worse and worse the further I got. Played as mage and the overall gameplay experience is pretty awful. - Powerscaling is way off. Everytime you think you have become powerful and reached a certain power threshold the game immediately confronts you with even stronger enemy units that are even more powerful than whatever you have in your stack. This struggle continued through the entire game with some battles being super easy and others near impossible. - Accessing Gear & Units takes far too long. There are like 8 gear sets (4-6 parts each) which you are supposed to collect while playing but I only ever found 3 full sets. (via Trial Challenges). In general gear is treated like an absolute luxury and in 50+ hours I almost exclusively only got grey/green gear. All the good gear and tier 5 units start flooding in all at once, as soon as you reach Floster which (at least for me) was about 50+ hours into the game. - Story is quite simple and the plot is actually solved within the first 20 hours of gameplay. The rest of the game you are just chasing the villains across the map unlocking several areas which are previously locked via invisible walls. - Horse mount is only like 30% faster than you and gets stuck pretty much everywhere on the map while riding and will block your way most of the time. + Voice acting is good and even the most niche NPC dialogues have been translated and voiced. + Music is very much in the background but there a handful of tracks that are good & memorable. + Entire game filled with A or B choices which lead to different rewards, dialoges and achievements.
