Its a pretty game, I like the world. It has awful voice acting and character progression My main frustration is it keeps losing my saves and I don't have it in me anymore to replay the same bits
I love the previous King's Bounty games and, to be honest, I did enjoy this one; but I can't recommend this game to anyone. If you haven't played King's Bounty before, you're going to find this game clunky and unpolished (play the other ones first: The Legend, Armoured Princess etc.). If you have played King's Bounty before, you're going to find this game frustrating. The systems in this game are poorly explained, even if many of them are present in the previous King's Bounty games (albeit with different names). One thing I will say, though... the lack of polish in this game does make for some unintended comedy - like it's so bad, it's good kind of thing. Here's a list of weird stuff: * All but about 2 of the men in this game have facial hair - including men who are meant to be 'young'. At one point you offer to rescue a blacksmith's lazy apprentice, and when you eventually find him, he looks older than the smith. * The dialogue you overhear from the NPCs repeats whenever you move away and back into range of characters. I don't know how many times I've heard the phrase "We must summon my eagles". Now I say this whenever things get a bit too hard. * When you run into any of the wealthy men, they say "you rumpled my best suit". I ran into a lot of wealthy men. * You get a horse! When you whistle for it to come, it always spontaneously appears behind you Watson style. * The ending... I can't find the exact video that captures it, but this sort of comes close.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I think, for me, the appeal of King's Bounty is walking around clicking on things, trying to figure out who is going to beat me up, and who i can take, and who i should take now before they stop giving me xp. And battles. If a battle is possible it feels good to solve it. if it's not possible it feels good to come back to it later and solve it. So I don't understand why king's bounty II has a 3d avatar, a 3d world, no jump button, and you just walk around rubbing your face into all the corners looking for items to light up, instead of just galloping around and seeing them shine from 100 feet above like every previous king's bounty. I don't understand why it's fully voice acted. I don't understand why I"M voice acted. I mostly skipped the plot before. The parts of this game that are fun are the other parts. Yeah yeah yeah kill the ogres sure. Your grandmother's apple recipe whatever. I'll check the quest log and know what to do about that later. I want to fight the beasties. Every one of these fights is costing me money and i can't cast two spells a turn so why even be a wizard. I don't understand why this game is so different in ways i would never in one million years have guessed. it feels like gothic or arcanum. like a european elder scrolls knock off from 2003. I paid four dollars and it is only that fact that is making me wonder if i shouldn't just give it another chance.
TLDR: Probably my favorite King's Bounty game, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. King's Bounty 2 is easy to get into even if you're new to the series,. The core gameplay is simple: you pick 5 units for your army, and you use that army to fight battles and do quests. As you do that, you gain leadership (allowing you to lead a bigger army), talent points (giving special bonuses to your army), and unlock new parts of the map (which contain new merchants who can sell you better units and equipment for your army). There's a constant temptation to go just a little further, to open up the next part of the map, and I stayed up later than intended a few times as a result. But the game also has enough strategic depth to keep things interesting. Units for your army each have one of four alignments (Order, Anarchy, Power, Finesse), and each of those alignments has different strengths and weaknesses; on top of that, each alignment contains multiple unit subtypes which can get special boosts from gear or from other units. For example, if I'm playing with a Power army, should I specialize in Beasts, Dwarves, or Trolls? Should I stick with all Power units to maximize Morale bonuses, or mix in other units of other alignments to shore up my weak spots? Units also have an associated "tier" from 1-5, with higher tiers being overall stronger - but a larger & more-experienced unit from a lower tier may still be stronger than a smaller & less-experienced unit from a higher tier, so the decision of when to upgrade carries some strategic weight as well. It's also notable that many quests in the game have two different routes to complete them (Order vs Anarchy, Power vs Finesse), and that choosing an alignment for your character to follow is what unlocks stronger abilities for your character. This adds an extra dimension of replayability and some roleplay, which is very welcome. There are a few flaws. The game's spellcasting system requires a finite resource, Mana, to learn or cast spells, and you can easily use it up much faster than you can find more. The main campaign ends on a high note, but quickly follows it up with a teaser of "more adventure to come", which does not seem likely to be fulfilled at this point. I additionally ran into some odd performance issues - areas of the map where the framerate would slow significantly without an obvious cause. Overall, none of this dissuaded me from going back for a second round, but it's worth mentioning. As above, I highly recommend this game and hope for a sequel in the future.
theres no denying this game has massive flaws. DO NOT under any circumstances pay full price for this game. Even at 90% off it stills feels like being ripped off. the movement is atrocious. horse back you spend more time trying to turn or not get stuck than actually moving. foot is so god awful slow it feels like it takes forever just to go a few feet. the combat is just bad. like they took the pokemon battle system and made it WORSE. voice acting is cringe at best. a 40 year old man in game with the voice of a girl teenager? ok.... the writing is bad the story is so awful you just start skipping dialog entirely early in game and never turn back. i kid you not, dora the explorer had a deeper story line.... the puzzles are at best annoying. the camera is clunky a game with magic....that punishes you for using magic.... mana is finite and limited, spells are choked off. the bit about once you commit to a certain ideology you no longer can stray from it sounded cool, once you go evil you cant go unevil. except its a lie. it only applies once you hit the end of the ideology line which is roughly towards the end of the game, before then you can swap forever in a day. even after you do it has no meaningful impact on the story line. so instead of being a neat concept, its just more garbage on the pile. DO NOT under any circumstances pay full price for this game. Even at 90% off it stills feels like being ripped off. HOWEVER. if you accept all these flaws going in. theres a mediocre game to be enjoyed.
Unfortunately, pretty boring and clunky. It really desperately needs that final polish, otherwise it's simply a bland game. For the price of 4€ on sale it's ok but just can't get myself to play it. Shame, could have turned out good.
I'm a big fan of the previous entries of the King's Bounty series. I held off getting this game because of the bad reviews, but finally picked it up on a big sale. It had the potential to be a pretty good game but fell apart in several ways. I get that they wanted to make it look fancier than the cartoony graphics of the previous games (which, for the record, I had no problem with the graphics of the previous game. It worked well for the series and would have been happy if the sequel had those same graphics), but they did a half assed job in that regard. Now on to the real problems. It's like they took the previous games and used almost none of the stuff that worked well in that game. OK, you've got your standard Leadership system that gates how many creatures you can control at once. Makes sense. Oh, cool, you added rank upgrades for unit types that make them slightly more effective if you use them in combat more and keep the whole stack alive. That's a good change. Another nice change is the addition of replenishing your unit stacks at the cost of gold at the end of a battle. What's this, you have limited the number of units per stack? Your basic Spearmen/Dogs of War/Archers are limited to 10 units per stack. 10! I guess what they want you to do is switch to higher tier units as the game goes on. Gone are the days where you can amass 100 Guardsmen and boost the minimum damage or HP to make them viable in the late game. The annoying part is you spend all this time to upgrade your units, and then you have to toss them aside. Not only that, but the higher tier units have an even LOWER limit of units per stack. I got up to tier 4 units, and they're limited to 3 or 4 units. Not only that, higher tier units just don't feel powerful. Units don't have any sort of offensive or defensive stats, so you no longer have the big high attack or defense units that are barely scratched by lower tier units. They take the same damage and deal the same damage no matter who they are attacking/defending. The combat system is mostly the same from the previous games. They did a nice job of making more interesting battlefields since all battles take place in a static area. Though it does kind of suck you can't run past a high level area to get the treasure that a high level mob is guarding, like you could in the old games. Though gone are the hazards and random treasures from the previous games. Unit variety is craaaaaaaaap. You get basically 4 factions. Humans, Bandits, Undead, and Dwarves. There are a few "neutrals" like some flavors of golems or elementals, but nowhere near the variety that the original games had. These factions correspond with the 4 ideals: Order, Anarchy, Power, and Finesse. Certain quests will give you points in one of these ideals based on the decisions you make. Your skill tree is gated based on how many points you have in these ideals. Item stats are fairly boring. 1 Warfare = 1% more unit damage. 1 Arcane power = 1% more spell damage. There are items sets, but they are few and far between and most of them, so far, have needed at least 4 items per set. The spells are fairly similar to the previous games, though there are less of them. However, the status effects like Burning, Poison, etc are worse than the previous games. They are static damage numbers so are useless against higher numbers of units or higher hp enemies. At least before, they were % based. The quests are much more interesting than the previous games. There are some that are simple and only take 1 or 2 steps to complete. While others span the entire area of the map you're in with a dozen steps. Rewards are often just experience, gold, and a pieces of equipment. Sometimes it's new units or unlocking higher tier units in certain unit shops. However, and here is what made me quit the game, some quests give you items that are required to complete the quest, and these items are just part of your regular inventory. Which means, they can be sold. And there is no buy back method. So, 25 hours in, I realized i had sold some equipment that I needed for a quest. I had done this many hours before, so there was no way I was going to go back to a previous save to redo everything I had already done. I am sad that we got a sequel to this series and it turned into such a mediocre game. I'm just glad I got this on a super sale and so don't feel so bad about the money I spent on this.
A game created with passion and soul, but without gamer's POV... Awful idea to have finite mana pool, which is spent for not only for casting spells, but also for learning and upgrading them. Terrible mount steering, lots of backtracking, lots of boring combat encounters (Seer, I'm looking at you!!!). The spirit of a fairy-tale from previous KB games is gone, don't try to look for it here. A totally different game, that feels cozy but then smashes you in the face with unforgiving game-design solutions.
I am writing this review as a player who did not have experience with previous games from this serie. At the begining I was pretty interested into main quest story, all side conversations between NPCs, found texts scattered across world, however after 5-6 hours I was already quickly reading texts and skipping cutscenses. Main hero (I was playing as this paladin girl) is completely unlikeable seriously after several of her dialogues I was wondering if I should change the character and start from scratch again, but then I looked at the amount of already completed quests and was like hell nah man. About Quests typical for any of such games, run there talk with someone grab something and go back again, buuuuut there was something which I assume developers found pretty interesting PUZZLES. FFS THE WORST PART OF ANY QUEST WAS TO SOLVE SOME PUZZLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAD WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF SOME RUNE WORDS WHICH THEN HAD RANDOM SIGN WHICH I WAS UNAWARE OF AND YOU NEED TO REPEAT WHOLE SEQUENCE AND REPEAT AND REPEAT. But yeah quests forced you to travel across the world map and if the first part of this small map till Magefactory was pretty nice, there was plenty of NPCs, quests, points of interests, then 2nd part I felt like it was desolated, like developers run out of time and did not implement everything what they wanted. AND THE FCKING COLLISION MESHES... BEHOLD OF MIGHTY HERO AND HIS/HER HORSE WHO CAME HERE TO SAVE US FROM THE BADDIES. YOU KNOW THE BIGGEST ENEMY OF THIS GAME IS ANY GROUND ELEVATION STARTING FROM RANDOM RUBBLE, STONE OR SIMPLE HIGHT DIFFERENCE IN PAVEMENT. Moreover to encourage you to sightsee the world there were different hidden treasures. If your hero in Baldur Gates was telling you "Cursed to lay hands on everything" when you checked 127th barrel in this game the same hero would simply off himself. But most important thing here were fights and they were nice, limitation to 5 units, different tiers of units and the skill which was responsible for amount of units in the stack was pretty nice and gave feeling of progression UNTIL YOU ARE FIGHTING ENEMIES AS PART OF THIS QUEST WHERE YOU NEED TO GET READ OF THE PLAGUE OR SICKNESS FROM THIS HOODED GUY. AFTER 5TH FIGHT I WAS LIKE UGHHH AGAIN?! Especially that you were forced to fight with already scripted army, you could not change it. Overall If you see this game on sale for 5 dollars go for it, you will spend ok-ish 20-40 hours if you do not have anything else to play. Otherwise it is not worth it.
