About
JDM: Japanese Drift Master is an homage to Japan, Japanese street racing culture and drift. It’s an open world, story-driven experience, blending Tōge (mountainous) serpentines, with narrow rural roads and vast highways leading to a modern cityscape. With licensed cars and robust tuning options it’s a drifting paradise come true!

Driving Models
Designed primarily for gamepads, JDM boasts two driving models to choose from: Arcade, suited for a more relaxed experience and drift beginners; and Simcade in which all assists are off, trading full control over the car for more skill requirements to manage drifting. Players can switch between both models at any time during the game.
Open World
Soak in the atmosphere of Japan with the fictional prefecture of Guntama, created through mixing real-life locations from all over the country. With over 250 km of visually stunning main roads, standalone racing tracks and instanced events, set across winding mountain passes, rural areas and the city's bustling streets, you’ll explore diverse landscapes featuring traffic, dynamic weather, and day-night cycle systems.
Licensed Cars
Sit behind the wheel of legendary Nissan, Honda, Subaru and Mazda cars. Tune them mechanically with new parts and then fine tune the details. Experiment with visual parts: from hoods, through lights to full body kit swaps. Adjust the suspension, wheel camber, gear ratios and more. Finally, paint the car however you like using a free pick color palette. You want underglow? It’s at your disposal as well.
Story-driven Campaign
Step into the shoes of a foreigner determined to make his mark on the Japanese drifting scene. Compete in 40+ narrative-driven events and additional sidequests against the top drifters in the area. Experience this journey through hand-drawn manga pages, which add a unique and artistic touch to the game.
The Audio Purr
Experience authentic car sounds, captured through original recordings and brought to life with attention to detail, making you feel like you're truly behind the wheel. Cruise along picturesque roads while tuning in to genre-themed radio stations, including unique soundscapes of J-music, Phonk and even Eurobeat - choose the perfect soundtrack for your drive!
Multiplayer

Reviews
Although it is not, this game is very early access. From what I understand this is a small studio and I understand it takes a while to polish a game, but, it being presented as one is a big let down. To start, this game crashes very often. It happens mostly in events, and for no apparent reason, and it is frasturating. I've only played for about an hour, and noticed just enough bugs to ruin the feel for me: 1. Moving the camera to the front and back creates an audio cut-off. 2. Some cars have their camera distances bugged and closer in "Distance Chase" rather than the close ones. 3. While keybinds customization is very specific (in a good way), the menu feels odd and unpolished. Pressing A on a controller to buy a car will also instantly close the dialog coming after it, making it clunky and makes you miss important info you might need. 4. Controller support is 50/50. I use a Flydigi controller which works flawlessly in any other game without any 3rd party software or solution like the Steam API, yet in this one it claimed "all devices detected successfully" but couldn't sense a controller being used. 5. Menu navigation icons for buttons keeps switching to keyboard when using a controller for some reason. 6. Parts shop saying NEW and having pop ups about it yet I already saw all new options in the player garage. 7. Cars felt sluggish when playing the game. I had to look up videos of the game, only to stumble upon the videos of the game's own channel, to notice that my acceleration sensitivity was 75% and my car was SLOW. I mean REALLY SLOW. I had to turn that up to 100% so my car would actually drift. I played for 30 minutes with it being slow, I thought to myself "how am I supposed to drift when my car can barely accelerate? this is impossible.". For some reason after a restart I tried setting it back to 75% and it was somewhat normal, still a wierd and a potential refund of a bug. Some Quality of Life tweaks should also be implemented in my opinion, as it makes the gameplay a bit more fluid: 1. Fix the loading screens music. Everytime the game loads it abruptly cuts whatever sound there is and it feels like a pause in the game and vibe. 2. Seriously shorten the loading speed for RESTARTING an event. Really it shouldn't take a loading screen to restart an event, you just loaded it, why again? 3. Let pressing the pause menu button unpause it. It feels awkward trying to open the map and having to fiddle around buttons to close it. 4. Add lock-on to map icons when navigating when a joystick. This a must and it should be somwhat close to how Forza does it. It's nice and makes you not miss icons and play around with the joystick for a few seconds to lock onto what you wanna do next. 5. Fast travel button press is a bit long. This is neatpicking, but it felt like too long of a press to travel. 6. Change the "Lets Drift" button to something more informative, because I thought it was just freeroam rather than starting the actual game. Again, neatpicking, but could be nice. This is all from just 1 hour of gameplay, I bet I can find more stuff. I will still recommend it (and won't refund it) because the atmosphere and sounds are incredible, but there are stuff to fix, including the really cheap light graphics and lense flare.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Jul 30 → 7.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

10/10 because not only this game is good, but its forza 6 on budget and it's good
Sadly, it's a bit difficult to rate this one. The core gameplay is fine. Drift and grip handling is fun, road variety is great, the world is charming, music is fitting and you got a neat single player experience with a proper sense of progression. The game mostly knows what it wants to be and succeeds in doing so. There are some nice risk-reward events and the idea to play the past of each rival as sidequests is great. But: - Performance is not good. And the game doesn't even look that great either. The draw distance is way too short and everything is unsharp (playing 4K, DLSS Quality, 2x FG - which is required to be able that game in a good framerate on highest settings on my machine). At least there is no stuttering. - Collision is sometimes random (including when a drift combo breaks) which can result in some frustrating situations. There are also inconsistencies what obstacles are destroyable or not - AI is straight up bad (which is especially annoying when doing a drift convoy) - There are some obvious QoL things that aren't implemented (e.g. being able to switch cars when entering a event; having the GPS target still active after fast travel) - There are too many loading screens for my taste. And sometimes the manga are loading aswell while trying to skip through the pages - Difficulty is normally too easy (even on hard), but for some single missions which are insanely hard (you can set difficulty to easy to "skip" those) - Drag races feel sluggish - Story isn't presented in a exiting way (and it isn't that interesting either. Mostly Initial D tropes without any engagement) All in all it is a fun game, but it has many flaws you need to be able to tolerate. I give this a light recommendation for genre fans, better wait for a sale.
Devs keep introducing new DLC cars despite the main content of the game being really repetitive and eventually boring. All missions are the same, the open world isn't fun to explore, and the game feels quite tedious at times. The driving model is really fun and drifting can get super technical and satisfying, but releasing so much DLC after DLC in a game desperate for content makes me give a negative review
Spent a good hour customising my car and a good minute immediately losing control of it into infinite donuts right in front of the garage door. Runs like ass on steam deck, but drifting is fun! Went in for racing, walked out with a fresh new passion in drifting on Japanese Rock.
Great game. Great story. Poor performance without DLSS (+FG). Must deliver more Sushi.
(100% complete with all achievements unlocked) JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a solid game, but it does have some flaws and can be fully completed in under 20 hours. The game is set in a fictional Japanese city, but don't go in expecting a massive Forza-tier map. The highway that loops around the outer edges is roughly 16km long. Faster cars like the R35 GT-R, which can exceed 300km/h, can lap this loop in just 3 or 4 minutes. That said, the theme is excellent; there is a full day/night cycle and dynamic weather. There are three vehicle types: Drift, Drag, and Grip. Personally, I found only the drifting aspect to be fun—the physics for drag and grip cars felt a bit strange. The game is entirely single-player and features a Manga-style story with both main and side missions. You can also make extra money on the side by delivering sushi for the local shop. While brands like Honda, Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru are officially licensed, it seems the developers didn't get the rights to Mitsubishi or Toyota. Some of their cars are present but use fake names and logos. I wasn't a fan of the in-game radio stations, so I turned them off in favour of my own Spotify playlist. However, the developers really knocked it out of the park with the car audio. The Mazda rotaries actually have a porting modification, and the team nailed that specific "ported rotary" sound. So many racing games get this wrong, and it always bugs me, so it was great to see it handled correctly here. Overall: 8/10 Note: The game starts quite slowly. The first car you receive is an unmodified Toyota (under a fake name) that is surprisingly difficult to drift. You will likely struggle until you can invest in modifications; once you do, drifting feels much more natural for the rest of the game.
Just great. It's scratching that itch that modern NFS doesn't. The handling is arcadey but with weight. The story beats are entertaining and very cheesey (in a good way) and don't get in the way of gameplay. PS. Steam Deck not powerful enough to run it.
