About

World War One expands to the mountains of the Italian Front - beautiful but deadly in equal measure. Take part in key offensives of the Great War, from the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo to the Strafexpedition, and lead your team to victory among the scenic landscapes and peaks of Northern Italy.
Isonzo is a realistic tactical multiplayer FPS crafted by BlackMill Games, known for their critically acclaimed authentic WW1 wargames such as Verdun and Tannenberg. Immerse yourself in faithful recreations of historical battles with intense 48-player matches, testing your tactical skills and mastery of Alpine warfare.

Decide your path to victory: whether you’re leading the offensive with grenades or using mountain trails to flank enemy positions, you have options. Dive into combat or take a supporting role cutting barbed wire and crewing heavy machine guns and mortars. Thanks to a unique flare gun system, mark targets for artillery strikes or biplane flybys, before charging in to finish the job at close quarters with bayonets or trench clubs.

Choose from six distinct classes and build your loadout from a selection of 50+ iconic WW1 weapons, along with historically accurate equipment and perks specific to each class. Play as a Marksman to pick off soldiers from afar, storm enemy lines with the Assault class, issue tactical orders as an Officer, and much more.

After choosing a class, make it your own by picking from a large variety of role-appropriate uniforms, accessories and headgear. As a finishing touch, you can even pick your mustache from several famous wartime styles!

From hillside fortresses to mountain trenches and city streets, fight through varied Alpine landscapes inspired by historical battles. Learn the lay of the land to maintain cover and surprise your enemies - or go a step further to shape a dynamic battlefield by placing sandbags, barbed wire and ammo crates. Trench periscopes and sniper shields offer even more tactical options, but beware of poisonous gas attacks and artillery barrages!

Taking inspiration from the years-long struggle for control of the Alps during World War One, Isonzo brings the authenticity of the conflict to all players. Everything is recreated based on research and field trips, from sound effects, weapons and uniforms down to the houses, vineyards and trenches you’ll be fighting over. Choose your side and immerse yourself in History!

Enlist for more First World War action with the other standalone titles in the WW1 Game Series: Gallipoli, Tannenberg and Verdun. Engage in expeditionary warfare on the Middle Eastern Front with Gallipoli, maneuver for control of key sectors in Tannenberg on the Eastern Front OR Dive into the trenches along the Western Front in Verdun. Choose from a range of squads from across the war, as they fight for control of the ever-changing frontlines.

War... war never changes...or does it? The war has changed... did it? The answer is "No", unless it is "Yes". No, of course it is war... Yes...No... Yes?
Gorlami...

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Don't Play This Dogsh♥t
Broken hit detection? Check. Dull animations and bland art style? Check. Antiquated weapon balancing issues? Check. Explosive spam (FU♥KING GRENADE LAUNCHERS): Check. Unbalanced Attackers v Defenders game mode where the attackers' poor gameplay is not punished in the slightest as they can restore all tickets after taking each subsequent objective? Check. A community of LARPers who jump at the chance to bombard you with strawmen as soon as you even dare criticise their favourite game? Check. This game physically hurts to play. Between the bugs, chronic gameplay issues, the most tear-jerkingly cringeworthy community in existence, constant artillery and explosive spam, spawn-killing and an abhorrent lack of content and gameplay variety, it's really no wonder this game's player base dipped in such a drastic way.
Isonzo is a great game. Before playing it (it's my first in the WW1 game series), I played a certain amount of Battlefield 1, and Isonzo certainly scratches a different itch. My great-grandfather fought on that front for Italy, so of course, there is some sentimentality involved. Whereas Battlefield 1 is essentially a WW2 game with a WW1 skin on it (overwhelming presence of LMGs, semi-auto, fast tanks that don't break down when merely gazed at, etc...), Isonzo aims to represent the Great War in all its bolt-action glory, and it works. I love this decision. Of course, the game still offers some LMGs, snipers, mortars and fast pistols, but as primary weapons, they are more of an exception to the rule. Your bolt-action rifle has limited ammo, fires very reliably at close and long range, and is generally equipped with a very useful bayonet. The Good: -Contrary to Battlefield 1, there are bots, so you can simply enjoy a singleplayer match where you kill bots left to right without being sniped constantly by try-hards; -Great attention to historical authenticity, with the gameplay centering around bolt-actions rifles, MG nests, CQC and cover. While this reduces weapon variety somewhat, bolt-action rifles feel genuinely great to use: even without scopes, they make good sniper weapons, and they will usually one-shot kill everyone. -Great interactions between classes: mountaineers spot enemies, which allows marksmen to snipe, engineers to blast them with mortar shells, and officers to call heavy bombers on their positions. Riflemen help everyone resupply, and assault spend that ammo like there is no tomorrow. -You never feel like your weapon is weak: there's never an instance where you blasted an enemy with 6 bullets, only for him to kill you with 2 remaining hit points (looking at you, Battlefield 1). -The operations of Battlefield 1, which are a great concept, are somewhat used to great effect here, in matches where the defensive team will fall back on further lines of defence if they are driven back. -Maps have plenty of space and well thought-out layout allowing for ambushes, sniping and cover. -Made me restart my Italian courses on Duolingo. The less Good: -A few rare bugs here and there that can get your character stuck in texture, condemned to a slow death -No vehicles in game: you cannot drive a tank nor a plane (although the officer can call aerial support); -Although singleplayer matches are enjoyable and a good way to level your classes, bots usually don't use their class abilities, are easy to kill and will march single-file into a turkey shoot, à la Mount&Blade. To be fair however, they do use the prone position often, and they will reliably heal you (or shoot you). -You technically have hit points, but more often than not, they may as well not exist: you will die in 1 hit, MAX 2 hits if you are lucky. This gives a great feeling when you get good shots in, even with a pistol, but you will die very often, even to bots. -The "Operations" style matches give a great feeling of defence in depth, but they lack some of the cool mechanics of Battlefield 1, such as Behemoths helping the attackers, or vehicles being available for either team. -The game obviously has a much smaller player base than BF1, with all that it entails multiplayer-wise; -You unlock class abilities and weapons by levelling your classes and completing challenges. Fine. Most challenges are quite doable and enjoyable even, but the "kill 5 enemies with a grenade"? Horrible: for the life of me, I can't hit anything with those grenades. Still, a great game, set in a fascinating period of human history, giving a very satisfying gameplay. You want to feel cool as you charge into the enemy trenches, shoot an enemy, and spear another with your bayonet while crying "Avanti Savoia !!!" ? Look no further.
very fun and realistic take on ww1, much better than bf1, i'd say, and the best part is that the rifles actually do damage unlike most arcade shooters.
The AI bot support isn't as good as the previous 2 games: Tannenberg and Verdun. They can't use call ins and don't use most of the equipment available to them. It's a shame since I primarily play this series mostly for its bot support. If you're like me and prefer to play solo with bots, stick to the first 2 games as it will probably be more value for you in the long run, not to mention both games are much cheaper than this one.
As a fan of Verdun, this is really not for me. I was hoping for more trench warfare, instead I got a battlefield wannabe. Sad.
