Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival. The Combine’s control of the planet since the Black Mesa incident has only strengthened as they corral the remaining population in cities. Among them are some of Earth’s greatest scientists: you and your father, Dr. Eli Vance.
As founders of a fledgling resistance, you’ve continued your clandestine scientific activity—performing critical research, and building invaluable tools for the few humans brave enough to defy the Combine.

Valve’s return to the Half-Life universe that started it all was built from the ground up for virtual reality. VR was built to enable the gameplay that sits at the heart of Half-Life.
Immerse yourself in deep environmental interactions, puzzle solving, world exploration, and visceral combat.
Lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. Rummage through shelves to find a healing syringe and some shotgun shells. Manipulate tools to hack alien interfaces. Toss a bottle through a window to distract an enemy. Rip a Headcrab off your face and throw it out the window.
COMMUNITY-BUILT ENVIRONMENTS
A set of Source 2 tools for building new levels is included with the game, enabling any player to build and contribute new environments for the community to enjoy through Half-Life: Alyx's Steam Workshop. Hammer, Valve’s level authoring tool, has been updated with all of the game's virtual reality gameplay tools and components.

This game changed the way I see all gaming.
I tried some simple VR demos, walked around in virtual rooms, but Alyx was the first VR title I truly played. It was the first game I installed after purchasing second hand Quest 3 and lemme tell ya the headset was worth it just for this experience. I now do understand how VR is the closest thing to actually being in the game, but also now I do understand the pain of there being so few VR games like this.
Pros: Great looking and well optimised graphics, great sound design, classic Half Life interactive physics, guns look and feel good (even tho combine takes on human firearms are wierd :D) and I like the characters introduced. Funny lines are actually funny. Maps are small but very detailed and I often find myself just wandering around the level exploring in awe. It is extremely satisfying to literally grab stuff laying around and use it however you want. Headcrabs, zombies and barnacles are ten times scarier in VR... and there are more wierd things living in the zone.
Cons: Story is fine, but short and ending may disappoint. Taking out guns is sometimes glitchy as well as putting items in your backpack, but that could be just Quest tracking problem. Gameplay gets repetetive and predictable in some parts, but still throws in something new from time to time. Some of the puzzles are very hard... or I'm just stoopid.
Shame that there are only like 5 VR games that can be this good.

I am playing Half-Life: Alyx again after serval years. Something looks better, like full beer bottles with bubbles. And the overall qaulity looks amazing. I still had a Oculus Rift S. It works fine! I wish I could afford the STEAM FRAME!
