Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.

Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.

A strategy game where your units don't line up or deploy where you tell them to randomly face wrong directions super frustrating and yes i had unit ai off still there would be a paint area on map where i told my units to go and yet my units would consistently line up at weird angles exposing there flanks sucks this game could be a lot of fun but idk how you ♥♥♥♥ up such a basic feature anyway yah no not worth it
The best ACW grand strategy game on the market, hands down. Ultimate General Civil War is an excellent game in its own right, very much worth playing, but it lacks a real strategic layer. AGEOD's Civil War is, like all AGEOD games, much more frustrating than fun to play. If anything, GTCW feels like the spiritual successor to the old (but superb for its time) Forge of Freedom. Is GTCW perfect? Of course not. (What game is?) There are frustrating bugs, and the AI still needs work. It has, however, come a long way from the days of Early Access, and the devs are committed to continuing to improve it. I posted in the discussion forum that this game deserves an award for design. From top to bottom -- the GUI, the music, the video cut-scenes, the battlefield maps, the strategic map, etc. etc. -- GTCW exudes the spirit of the time period. It's a gorgeous game that sucks you into its world and makes you reluctant to quit. Oliver Keppelmueller and his team have done a brilliant job in bringing their vision of a 'total' American Civil War game to life.

Probably the best strategic and tactical civil war game one can find. The game has it's own fair share of problems and bugs and it seems that the development hasn't really made any significant improvements to fix these problems. My personal biggest one is after you get used to how the game works it becomes almost trivial as the enemy AI is trash even when put on max difficulty and agression. I always played as the csa and I would win withnin the first few months of the conflict. I once played as the union and completely destroyed the csa, it wasn't even fun. However, if you are a fan of strategy games I think that you will like this one. It lets you both control the entire country and the battlefield of individual battles, some games that only let you control the macro aspects leave you rellying on rng when it comes to battles (looking at you EU4). Everything you achieve in this game is based on skill and I can really appreciate that. That being said because the AI is so stupid it can lead to you winning battles when enemy has 3 or 4 times as many troops as you just because you managed to route a few of their units. After some time it gets harder to actually lose a battle no matter how much troops the enemy has. Overall the game is fun but becomes trivial after you learn the ropes. You should buy it if you like the strategy geanre as I personally have yet to find a game that offers a similar in-depth experience.
its fun but does have some bugs that need fixing but its the best civil war strategy game ever
The AI is just bad. Watch as you struggle initially to build troops only to be buried under a tsunami of attackers that are already fully formed. Marvel as you watch Deep-penetration tactics invented over 80 years before their historical counterparts utilized en masse. Thrill as arty is worthless, cav are blind, green infantry can break vet regiments and watch as you try to adjust your individual units you instead grab the corps commander and adjust the entire division. This game has SO.MUCH.POTENTIAL. but the AI....the AI....
I love RTS games alot and this is one of them it rough around the edges and their currently rebuilding it up from the ground but i like the ability to research, manage the economy, the army and navy, as well diplomacy and politics, i am excited to see how their complete rebuild turns out to be as well
Bought the game and the DLC and it's not bad, but not great either. Battles are long and very similar to one another. Management is a bit tedious. I've had much more fun with Ultimate General to be fair for half the price (when you count the DLC).
骑兵连,进攻!
Even with this game's myriad of issues. This is still revolutionary compared to many games of the grand strategy genre. From what I see, the moddibility (in which you can fix up things you dont like and prefer) yields superb in the form of their engine. I don't think people appreciate what's actually being presented here. Keep in mind this is their new engine and I assume they plan to build off of it for future games or if we can mod the map other eras and time periods respective of the technology.
Really fun game. I play the career mode, which is awesome. The AI could always use an upgrade, however it is not game breaking and you can usually work around it. All in All, a really good game and I recommend this to any civil war buff or war gamer.
