- Very positive surprise - Level design is superb and house is nicely large to explore so if you like to explore game worlds every corner stylish like i do, you find lot of things so not boring empty game world feeling. - Lot of things to read/listen scattered around house and all kind of little details/funny things so you have a very lot to explore and find. I maybe played 5 hours this game only one time through because exploring every corner etc.. so there is plenty to explore and not short game if you don`t rush. - I`m born in 1991 so this is super atmospheric time trip to all kind of 90 era stuff and lot`s of nice 1990 popular culture references so very strongly feeling trip to a memory of what it felt like to be child/young in 1990. - You find lot of story on the family members and some other persons etc.. so not only the two "main characters" so it`s very nice that it reveals also mom/dad stuff as example. - Story nothing super special but it is very emotional coming to the age/how it feels to be young etc.. stylish story and works well if you read and listen all stuff and don`t rush. warm memories comes to mind when you think about your own youth in 1990/early 2000 era, those strong teenage feelings and strong imagination things which are no longer so strong as adult. - This game needed to play slowly and listen/read all and explore etc.. that you got all out of it so if you are rush style gamer without patience/not focusing properly on the game i not recommend this maybe because you miss so much. - Maybe not such a powerful experience if you haven`t born early 1990 or before but still interesting game so i think its good still to play even if you were younger. - Maybe best walking simulator/exploration stylish game i ever played mostly because level design is so well made full of details/all kind of stuff to found/spot and nice story too so easily 9/10.

Good Game
J'avais vu un let's play ou deux à l'époque de sa sortie et ce jeu m'avait bien plu de part son ambiance et son gameplay simpliste qui se résume à explorer, à enquêter et à découvrir peu à peu les éléments pour comprendre son histoire. Une histoire d'ailleurs bien sympatoche qui nous fera passer par diverses émotions : la peur, la tristesse, la colère (pour certains éléments), et j'en passe... Les doublages sont bons, surtout ceux du chat ! Cried watching someone play this game when it first came out in 2013. Sat here crying after playing it today in 2025. Beautiful game, story, voices, art, sounds. Highly recommend especially if you are queer and have struggled to feel accepted. <3
A small accessibility feature that would help this beautiful game would be some sort of transcription or subtitles for some of the hard-copy letters and documents. This is already provided for the audio journal cassettes, but especially for some of the hand-written letters, they can be a little tricky to read.

Just slagged off Toilet Spiders, and realized I never gave my positive review of Gone Home. It's amazing- play it, grow a little, and enjoy a great detective game.
