I played with Mouse&Keyboard and enjoyed it. Delightfully beautiful stealth game with minimal violence. Don't expect this game to hold your hand, but once you play correctly it's really not too hard (until the end event). Alt+Enter to open full screen (as opposed to with the windowed border). Hold right click then left click on a chest or barrel or whatever to hide and have the option to save. Walk normally, stand still sneak, walk normally, stand still sneak, is faster than sneak walking. You can use spacebar near a ledge to climb up railings, especially as guards walk past. Bottles in your inventory are a limited resource. Throw them carefully (equip, wait for red dot on a guard, hit E to throw)! Sticks, candles, and lantern oil are all iinfinitely replenishable early on. Night and day are kind of annoying, some early NPCs won't interact with you (or even be there) at night. While there is a way to pass time quickly somewhat early on, until then know that each game day is 64 real-life minutes thus each game hour is 2+2/3 minutes. Thankfully there are no urgencies in the game whatsoever... even if the quest says 3 nights or whatever, it doesn't have to be in a row. Missables are only due to the order that you hand in items from quests (returning things too quickly, etc). Minor spoiler: you can get full guard's armor fairly early, that lets you sleep in beds to pass the time and walk around slower but without setting off guards any more... Greaves were my last piece; the armory key is near the armory, but both are a complex path from the starting dungeon (you might consider a video on that, then swearing guides away). Middle click on clothing in your inventory to equip the entire costume at once. There are some tough sounding achievements that you can get all in one playthrough; it's all very doable and they guarantee you do+see everything: Some are even bugged in your favor, popping before you finish all counts of something. 1. Never get spotted by rat guards (check stats to keep that at zero, and reload, if not). Anything other than rats are fine to be spotted by. 2. Never eat food from your inventory to heal (you can still pick it up). Eventually you'll heal when you level up, just takes sidequests. 3. Never get hit (never take damage). Easy enough with the other two above this, at least until the very end. 4. Read all footnotes (pretty sure repeats don't count). 5. Set fire to everything flammable... requires candles (equip sticks instead to avoid burning them out early) but caution that this somehow causes guards to yellow alert (which by itself doesn't void #1, but will wake a sleeping guard). Gotta use bottles in some cases to knock them out. 6. Steal everything. Especially things the plot can make you feel guilty about later. And all guard's handkerchiefs (backtracking makes it easier later, don't have to waste bottles). 7. Finish all secondary quests (for every skill). Don't pay the blacksmith, do his hammer quest. Don't give Silas his Spyglass directly. The best skills in the game are the red mist, strong arm, the stack, traps 1 (not 2). 8. Quite a few more collectathons: roses, get every name (talk to every guard while wearing guard armor, especially in the commissary), play all songs (Maiden Wouldn't Sing & Gilded Warrior for Fatale, Heaven in a Bottle to Silas, Orphan Prince to Ravik then tell the truth... actually you can play all songs to the commander by offering him help, but two songs come later in the game.), open all windows, get every spider (last one is hard to reach). 9. Do the Cook bee and waiting quests before you finish the Commander quests, you'll figure out what I mean by that later. 10. You can get infinite pinecones from the second tower. Use them for high up banners or banners under constant observation. No, not that first tower, the later one that you wake up in. There are not infinite bottles. 11. Don't progress the Magpie and the King until you've finished everything except quests Vessels of the Gilded Warrior & The Lost Squad. Also make sure you've done every Gusto & Fatale quest (both of Fatale's night quests), every Commander Quest, and everything for Silas. Remaining achievements then should be just Arachnophobia, Crash Diet, Dodgy Mouse, End to End, Like a Ghost, Lore Master, The Scholar, and a single hidden achievement with initials TGS. 12. For the very end, spoiler minimized though I'm not going to lie, it's tough. Put on the stealthiest outfit and save at the barrel at the bottom of the shore. There's a brisance on the other side of the shore too, but it takes at least 2 trips, don't hesitate to drop any brisance half way and come back for it later. Took me like 7 tries, just keep at it.

I just finished and... I have so many (beautiful) emotions right now. I feel this game is genuinely a tiny, little gem. The amount of love and care it was made with shows in every tiny angle you explore, in the writing of the characters, in the artworks - so well made and so full of life, as well as the music and poetry that accompany the player in Tilo's journey to find what was once lost. Love, and in a certain way, himself. There's so much attention to the worldbuilding that it pains me thinking the chance of this little masterpiece ever getting a sequel are thin. But at the same time, I'm so glad I got to experience it and I can't help but asking everyone to give it a chance. If you like story driven games, you won't regret it.
I really enjoyed this game. You're stealth "abilities" progress as you play and you find/purchase maps as you play, so it can be a little more tedious/overwhelming at the begining. But the more you explore and progress the more you're able to dart around accurately while avoiding guards. Plenty of secrets to find and a decent story to follow.
Graphics: Graphically, the game is absolutely beautiful on my OLED monitor. I strongly appreciate the realistic looking animals over cartoony alternatives, too. It is one of the nicest looking games that I've played. Because there are lots of dark spaces, I recommend playing in a darker room (no direct sunlight) - helping you retain maximum visibility. Also, the framerates are excellent on 1440P (2K). I just set a max of 120 FPS, and the PC breezes through that. Specs are below. Even with a high-powered PC, you need to increase the graphical quality in the settings menu. It won't just max out by default. ----------------------------------------------- The Stealth: I like this form of stealth in a game. You sneak around, and you get an indicator telling you how close you are to being detected by an enemy. If you are detected, they will try to kill you, but you can still try to scurry away. You don't just automatically lose, die, or have the game reset from a previous save. In the beginning, when you're less familiar with the world your in, the running away to find a hiding spot feels so much like how I imagined a real mouse would feel being chased by a predator. Your darting here and there, not really knowing where safety will be found, desperately trying to find a cabinet, barrel, tub, etc. to jump into and lose the enemy. It's thrillingly stressful for just a few seconds and then very relieving once you find a place. There is one complete outfit, made up of 5 separately discoverable pieces, that will cause the guards to think you are one of them. It's useful when absolutely needed, but it slows you down so much, that I prefer to just dart around without it most of the time. ----------------------------------------------- Completing Quests: As you're exploring the world, you discover tons of stuff that you can't access yet, but you don't really know why. This is probably the only bit of frustration at times. As a result, I would explore for what felt like huge amounts of time to try finding ways to access places & things that I couldn't (chests, boxes, cupboards, doors, etc). After a while, I came to the realization that most, not all, will become accessible just by focusing on the story line. So, though it felt a bit taxing initially - "What am I missing? What have I not searched?", once I shifted the focus from trying to find everything to doing the next known steps provided by NPCs, I realized that I could actually start finding and accessing everything. As you complete quests, you get XP points. These cause you to level up. When you level up, your health and stamina increase. It goes up quite a bit compare to what you start with, making the game easier as you level up. ----------------------------------------------- Outfits: As you play, you find different articles of clothing. They come with different stat modifications that affect: speed, visibility, noisiness, resilience to attack, resilience to falling, and some others. Completing entire sets (costumes) allows you to complete quests with NPCs that you couldn't complete otherwise. ----------------------------------------------- How much have I done? I'm still doing the game, and the logged hours in Steam are about 3x of reality. I often pause the game and leave it for an extend time to do something else, and Steam is still tracking the time. The game has an in-built timer that has me at around 12 hours so far. ----------------------------------------------- Parental Guidance Notes: I like to post stuff like this for those sensitive to certain things in their entertainment. (1) A character that you have to interact with at the beginning of the game uses the word "D*mn". It's the only foul language that I've seen in my 12 hours. (2) The only crass humor that I've encountered so far is a gas-passing rat that's asleep. That's also right at the beginning. (3) I've seen nothing sexual at all. (4) There is a scene where you talk to the spirit of a dead rat. (5) There is a rat that you must gamble with at one point, but there is a right answer that's obvious and allows you to get by him on the first try without actually hoping for an unknown outcome. Because our playthrough is incomplete, if I discover anything else that some may deem questionable, I'll post it. ----------------------------------------------- Summary: I have 11 children, and this adventure is really liked by most of them. They have eager anticipation about our next playtime together. I'm using the control, but we're all brainstorming, laughing, searching, hiding, and completing this together. It's like one big family time on a single playthrough. The story that we've seen so far is pretty engaging, and we really want to know what happens next. Each new discovery, item found, or location entered gets the place all abuzz with a fresh desire to explore some more or see how the new items help us. Also, we progress at a quick enough pace that it rarely feels like we're just impossibly stuck. So, it's a blast. I got this game on sale for $2. The game is so well done that I almost feel like I stole it. I may even reach out to the Devs to see if there is a way to donate up to the MSRP - it's that enjoyable.

This is a great exploration game with a little bit of stealth. The world design is great though it takes a while to find your way around and the maps could help with showing where the exits to other areas are! The game looks great, and the animation of the characters is good. Also liked the music which changes as you explore different areas. Loved the story, absolutely loved all the characters you meet and the conversations you have with them. Highlights were any conversation with Kerold the frog and talking to Gusto and Fatale. Also loved dressing up as the thief and talking to Rolo! Whilst this initially starts out relying on stealth you eventually learn to avoid the guards so it becomes a secondary concern to exploration, finding items and puzzle solving. I'm really going to miss Dwindling Heights Keep, but am looking forward to Ghost of a Tale 2!
