Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.67/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

we will decide our own destiny. it is definitely a mess, but a lovable mess to *me*. FFXIII was my first FF game that i finished, and i kinda had to torture myself to finish it in order to hop on FFXIII-2 (been more fond of it..) but it definitely wasnt a waste. you'll see tons of people complaining about the pc port, that its a very pretty much a corridor simulator, bad/boring combat, or even the story being incomprehensible, or too much of a "from point A to point B" game (no kidding, its a linear game....) we are thrown into a world where a set of demigods give people a "focus", a mission they need to fulfill, in order to achieve eternal rest, and if they fail, they will transform into a monster. the game repeats a refrain that there is no such thing as purpose, and no grand design, only free choice. goes as far as to mock the concept of miracles. "Miracles are things we make for ourselves", " Wishes can come true, but not if you wait for miracles". the game throws at you like a hundred terms in the span of the first hour, so theres really no kidding if the story looks complicated or incomprehensible at the beginning. fear not, there is a datalog which keeps all explanations and intels about things. the story is pretty straight-forward and the datalog just sums it up, adds minor details that could have been missed throughout the cutscenes, it is in no way crucial to read the datalog, i just feel like the game doesnt do justice to its story without the logs. i personally read every single file and thing i could. many people lament the loss of towns, NPCs, puzzles, side quests and overall the presence of gameplay elements beyond watching a movie and combat. luckily for me, linear games are no issue, so i quite enjoyed myself. FFXIII ignores every step forward the series had taken in terms of gameplay, world exploration, and RPG mechanics, but in my opinion this game does not deserve all the hate it gets. i very much like experimental things, theres nothing wrong with that. most people just dont have the patience and worst of all follow the opinions of others like their own without even trying the game for themselves. the game surely isnt perfect, but thats exactly why its so beautiful and worth the experience for me. again luckily for me, i didnt have any kind of problems in regards of the port. didnt use any mods, ran on quite high graphics, never had any crashes or really bad lags, so the whole "can run only with mods" is just BS by people that are mad that their game is locked on 60 fps, which really isnt a big deal. as far as the combat goes, i actually really loved it. first time playing with an ATB bar. it does feel rough and unintuitive at first, or still even post-early game, but it actually does have a lot of depth if you pay attention and learn its mechanics, and there is no way with clearing the game by simply selecting the auto feature, so you kinda have no choice but to learn. selecting the auto feature might even be a grave mistake at times. that said, it was only enjoyable with bigger, faster paced unpredictable bosses. battles go on far longer than they should, because the staggering part is actually really important, simply dealing a lot of damage is not enough. the stagger mechanic stretches every fight into the same slow pattern, and it sure would have gotten even more boring over time, as i am not much of a big turn-based combat fan (i just happen to like games that happen to be turn-based combat..), but the paradigm shift made it a hundred times better. actually fun, wasnt boring at all. at the start of the game, every time the story changes your party composition are reset, so it leaves you with almost no feeling of control over the fights, often not being able to even change the leader. but post-game handles this a little better —i really had to brainstorm for good battle teams, but i still loved creating all sorts of unique teams as every battle can call for unique setups. except having only six paradigm sets was a trouble late-game, as i kept up figuring new and new battle teams, and it was even worse when there wasnt any configuration save option, so i had to write them down often. the result of the combat is a pretty addictive loop where exploring the world is about understanding the combat system and its nuances. this is also highlighted by how balanced the game is throughout. the game doesnt really allow for the player to actually be overpowered for the most part. once i grinded for hours thinking id have it easier later and i still struggled BIG time. the bad part of this is that if you arent really into the combat, there is basically nothing else in the game for you to do since every bit of progression comes from fighting itself.. theres no denying that the game is extraordinarily beautiful, im actually surprised its very cheap. sadly theres not enough time, or better yet, reason, to fully explore each area as the game pushes the player from point A to point B. it could be seen as a waste, reducing them to just “pretty areas” without any depth to what goes on there. the world does open up more in Gran Pulse, which was breathtaking. for once, youre able to roam freely and interact with the world around you while youre exploring, something that has been missing the entire game. and this specific part of the game even offers doing some side quests. but once you get out of Gran Pulse, the world becomes narrow and closed again. not to mention the quests have pretty much zero depth to them. technically, most of the game is a sprint from cutscene to cutscene through narrow corridors, with larger areas only opening up near the end, where there is almost nothing to actually explore. sometimes its agreeable that the game seemed way too linear, for all its philosophical flaws, it was fundamentally dull. the idea of a floating sphere-world above a wild planet is a genuinely original concept. but the game tells you almost nothing about it. some information can be found in the datalog, but because of the absence of NPCs, quests, exploration in general, the world ends up feeling dead and artificial, lifeless. characters themselves may be unlikable at first, but I think that makes them more human in a way. (((my faves were Snow and Hope💜💜))) i liked how most of them were actually allowed to be normal everyday people, then were put in an absurd situation, which made them feel more relatable. though it saddens me that there is very little actual interaction between them, i hope interaction, amongst other things, get stronger over the next titles. ive seen people say the character designs are rather bland, dull, but for me they were just about well enough detailed and memorable, and for once i can say the same, if not more, about the monster designs, its not very often im fond of them, i was really in love. especially cie'ths designs. the real strengths of FFXIII are clearly its visuals and music. the soundtrack is literally top notch. not a single bad track and genuienly heavenly tunes blessing my ears. i was already captured by the title music. even the story seems genuienly amazing, and im excited to see what more it has to offer and how it will continue, hoping for the world building to not go down in vain. im satisfied enough as i am, but FFXIII could benefit from a remaster of some sort, so heres to hoping it will happen someday, and that it will be done well as to not tarnish even more its name. theres no way of knowing whats right. all we can do is believe ourselves... i might not make all the right choices, but as long as im the one who decided what to do, theres nothing to regret. "we are uniquely endowed with freewill, but for humans free will only leads to flourishing when we use freedom in a way that accords with our fixed human nature and the fixed ultimate telos that God has given to each of us."

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I don't understand why this game gets as much hate as it does. Sure, the first half of the game is very linear because they are trying to tell a specific story. They switched up the combat system and it feels like a sort of evolution from X and XII's. This one is more about using the right strategy and not about choosing individual actions. Like a lot of JRPGs, I was very confused in the beginning as to what was going on. Lots of invented words, however with repetition and fleshing out the story it became understandable over time. I can see people getting hung up on this and giving up. Overall, it's good. Not the best, not the worst. If you really like RPGs it might be worth a shot.
Final Fantasy – the corridor simulator. Every single map is just one long corridor. And after 40+ hours, you finally reach the end. This game could easily have been 30 hours shorter. The world is beautiful, but I never felt immersed. Why? Because no matter how it looks, it’s still just another corridor with a different skin slapped on top. The combat is completely numb. All you do is mash A on your controller and occasionally switch tactics if it happens to be a boss fight. If you’re tired and play this game, YOU WILL fall asleep. I fell asleep on multiple occasions while playing it. And what is it with JRPGs and their obsession with making the main characters kids? The most annoying one is Hope — a crying little baby. The character names: Lightning, Hope, Snow… I forgot the rest. What are these cringe names? The story? I have no idea what it was even about. Something about l’Cie, destroying the world, saving the world… real original stuff. In the beginning, I used to clear every map and kill every enemy. But at some point it became way too repetitive, and I just gave myself cheats to max out my characters and speedrun the maps JUST so I could uninstall this ASAP. Before you can even play the game, there are some system requirements you should know about: - Belief in God. - A lot of prayer. - Patience at the highest possible level. - The ability to read multiple guides and follow them thoroughly. - The ability to mod games. Because if you think you can just press install and then hit the green play button, you’re in for a ride. MODS are a requirement just to get this piece of ♥♥♥♥ running. MODS used: Nova Chrysalia (mod manager) - 4K 60FPS Remastered FMV P1 and P2 (20GB each) - 4K 60FPS Remastered pre-rendered cutscenes P1–P7 (20GB each) (over 100GB of mods just to be able to watch and hear the cutscenes without suffering through the garbage quality the game originally shipped with) - Paradigm Shift camera - The FFXIII HD Project - X360 button prompts - HD fonts and GUI - 4GB patch (essential) - FF13 FiX Plus (from NexusMods) - Treasure sphere hack - Gameplay tweaks and hard mode - HD models plus It has some positives: - If you die at a boss, you respawn at the boss (I’m looking at you, Dark Souls). - Save points everywhere. - Upgrades and leveling are meaningful and make a huge difference. - Some areas are genuinely beautiful. But in the end, I did not enjoy this. And because I’m a completionist, I bought the two other games in this trilogy (I hate myself).
i will never understand the hate this game gets for being too linear as if final fantasy x isn't that yet that game is extremely beloved ?? i also love ffx so this is no shade at all but the hate just seems so unfair when that's always the main reason i've seen for YEARS this game has some of the best gameplay loop, writing, characters and music within the franchise. final fantasy 13 is so special and the fact that the main protag is a woman makes it even more special because we barely get that. everyone needs to play this game for themselves and form their own opinion. it's so easy to fall in love with this game
FF13 might as well be split into two parts - before and after leaving the city of Bodhum. Before leaving Bodhum, there's a lot of promise. The gameplay is pretty boring, with not much player choice involved in the preparation of your team, and the most optimal / effective combat choices being to mash the "auto-battle" button - but you can excuse most of that on behalf of (overly long) tutorialization. There's still novelty to the experience and the expectation of later improvement and complexity that helps to prop up the combat experience early on. The narrative is a little vague and hard to follow at first, but once you understand three or four main jargon terms (mainly the master / slave relationship between Fal'Cie and L'cie) you should be totally fine. There's a dictionary full of terms if you need it, but you shouldn't. The story, in the beginning, isn't firing on all cylinders but it too shows promise and a notably strong foundation. Camerawork is interesting, characters have multiple layers of complexity, interactions are engaging to follow, and there's frequent subtle changes in line delivery and body language that add a lot to the experience. And then THE MOMENT you leave Bodhum (this is early on), the game turns to total dogslop garbage, top to bottom. Technically the gameplay opens up as you're allowed more skills and party formations, but none of it means anything in the grand scheme. You approach fights with almost the exact same tactics every time, and the added "complexity" gets insurmountably overshadowed by how constant fights become (often unavoidably due to the narrow rooms enemies appear in), how bloated HP values start to get (like a notorious "race against the clock" mandatory boss folks often fail to beat within its 20 MINUTE TIMER), and how obtuse certain enemy mechanics become (A party-wiping move that actually becomes more powerful if you heal and prepare for it instead of ignoring it completely). As a result, combat becomes exhaustingly tedious. Unfortunately, there isn't much besides the combat to engage with after Bodhum. F13 is often critiqued as being akin to a "hallway" but I feel that's a misnomer, as a hallway implies there's rooms of interest on one end or another. FF13's environments quickly become more akin to a "Tube", with the interior being just as narrow and dull as anything at the egress. At a later point in the game, people tout the game physically opening up, and that's somewhat (briefly and technically) true, but it's a VAST open field containing nothing of worth. The story fares no better. The dynamic camera is replaced with static shots and zoomed-out pans, likely to hide how simple and robotic character animations become. Characters too, become simplified, stilted, borderline flanderized versions of themselves who exist only to spout nonsense monologues and platitudes at each other on repeat for the remainder of the game. The characters and the world they live in make allusions to complexity that are never realized or explored, and often causes multiple contradictions or outright dropped plot points for nothing. Is the stark difference between pre and post Bodhum an unfortunate reflection of FF13 being the headliner for the disaster project that was Fabula Nova Crystallis? Probably. Does that make me wonder what FF13 could've been had it not exploded and fallen apart? For sure. Does that mean FF13 is worth playing or redeemable in any way as a result? No, absolutely not, hell no dude. This ♥♥♥♥ sucks. It sucks so bad I'm genuinely baffled that critiques like "it's not a good FF game, but it's still a good game" and "the story isn't good, but the world building is" are parroted so often. Asinine doodoo brained garbage takes. Do not bother playing this game. It's not worth the curiosity, and it does not get better as it goes on.
I've played Final Fantasy 1 through 10, and 13 is still my favorite. Active Time Battle on FF13 is unique, and nobody dares replicate its divisiveness.
I am 16hrs in and it's still a tutorial... which is wild. The combat is so basic and the design choice to automate the combat was strange, but I get it when there is SO MUCH of it... I mean, it really doesn't resemble any of the FF games, not even the ones after it. It could have easily been a mobile game the way its been designed, no exploring, no NPC's... no towns, no villages to explore, no interesting characters along the way. NO CHOCOBOS? like, wtf. BUT! The soundtrack is great, the cinematics are kinda fun... there is a story and it's okay. I am truly only playing it because I lost my best friend who introduced me to the series and it's part of my grieving process. I gotta say playing this game is almost adding to the grief at times. I am sure he would be amused that I am doing this. I am only recommending this if you're a hardcore FF fan, because I think you have to be kind of mad to play the entire game. EDIT: Okay I am further into the game and it DOES have Chocobos... but they are not ones you can really interact with or ride. Very sad as this game does seem to have some love notes to FF7, I am now in chapter 10 and it's starting to feel like more of a game, I just wish they put more effort into the other 9 chapters... just soooooo much grinding, pieced together with cut-scenes. where are my cute little villages, fun towns, mini-games and such... still, I will see this to the bitter end,
I bought this game around 8 years ago because I got XIII-2 for PS3 and only lasted about 40 minutes before deciding to return it to EB Games. I got this game for 90% off or something and decided to give it a solid go. I've played a good 30 hours of the game and it still feels like a slog. The combat is somehow more boring than the regular turn-based style. I want to avoid it but each boss seems to take a few times to beat after buffing and debuffing. I tried to collect every item and fight all the encounters along the way but it never really feels like its making a massive difference. I assume its the kind of systems reserved for well experienced RPG players. There's a whole lot of good world-building and graphical design elements are peak and that kept me going but the story or characters aren't really motivating. I don't see myself playing this game through to completion. I would be cautious when buying this.
"Wishes can come true, but not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now." - Oerba Dia Vanille.
Only 16% Of Players Actually Finished The Game...I'm One Of Them
More than two-thirds have yet to reach the halfway mark, but the reviews are SLAMMIN'. Gotta love it. This game is ccompletely average by JRPG stanards so it's not that it's a bad game, but for the bar set by mainline Final Fantasy games...it's mediocre. The battle system is NOT impressive by any stretch of the imagination and only fully opens up when the game is near its end. People thought FF12 "played itself". This game's combat is truly mindless until VERY far down the line. The graphics are good. The soundtrack is hit or miss. Some songs are amazing while others are throwaways (though the soundtrack is praised, by other people). It might be the worst story I've ever experienced in a FF game (apart from its sequels), and that's a problem. This is a mainline FF game...the story should be given top priority. The writing is largely convoluted trying to pass itself off as clever. It loudly shouts words and phrases at you without an explanation, as if you're supposed to know what any of it means. The entire story is anchored on these words & phrases that you don't understand, & by the time the game tells you, it just hits flat because you realize there was never any good reason not to have any of this explained at the start in the first place. It's a very average story (not bad), being told in the worst way possible. The game runs like hot doodoo unless you install community mods. I can vouche for the mods. You'll have a seamless, problem-free playthrough 99.8% of the time. For $6 on sale it was "aight" but I'm not about to complete the trilogy. Even with mods the second game is notorious for still running badly, & the 3rd game might as well be a hack & slash. Mostly positive rating from a bunch of people who couldn't even be bothered to play the game. As someone who actually finished it, I'll have the thumbs it down since there's no middleground.
