Probably the only game I've played so far where I'd willingly uninstall it right before finishing it. At first the gameplay is pretty alright, but then you realize that it just keeps going on, and on, and on....until you realize that it's literally been 2 hours of the one same looking corridor and reskinned enemy encounters, then multiply 5x. It feels like this should've actually been like a movie/series (similar to Kingsglaive, Brotherhood or Advent Children) with the ammount of cutscenes and rather lacking and very linear gameplay style. I think that the world/story can be interesting, but unlike something like Death Stranding, it's just not good enough to make up for the gameplay.
파판 시리즈의 특징이 가장 나쁘게 드러나는 게임. 장점은 지금 봐도 꽤 고퀄리티인 그래픽과 음악 둘뿐이고, 호불호가 좀 갈릴수 있지만 빠른 템포의 전투도 나름 재미있는 편입니다 하지만 이것들만으론 단점들이 커버가 안됩니다. 만약 이 게임을 구매하시면 여러분은 아래의 순서대로 단점을 맛보실 수 있습니다. 1.최악의 이식 수준 13은 10이나 12보다도 가장 먼저 스팀에 이식된 파판입니다. 그래서 이식 상태가 가장 최악이고, 버그도 가장 많습니다. 그냥 하려고 하면 플레이 도중에 튕기거나 세이브가 날아갈 위험이 있기 때문에 몇가지 패치를 해야 하는데, 그 패치도 그냥 하면 되는 게 아니라 정확한 순서에 맞춰서 패치를 하고 몇 가지 옵션을 조절하고 특정 파일을 직접 복사해두고 이름을 바꾸는 등 복잡한 과정을 거쳐야 합니다. 그중에 하나라도 빠뜨리거나 순서를 틀리면 패치했는데 왜 안되지? 하는 상태가 될 수 있습니다. 그리고 이 문제를 해결하고 게임을 켜면 이제 인게임 문제들이 있습니다. 2.불편한 조작 패드가 없으시면 키보드로 하셔야 할 텐데, 키보드 키설정이 엄청나게 제한적입니다. 변경할 수 있는 키는 딱 4종류고, 이동 확인 취소 등의 대부분의 키 설정은 그냥 처음 정해져 있는 대로 하셔야 합니다. 익숙해지면 나름 할만하긴 한데 상당히 불편한 부분입니다. 3.쓸데없이 복잡한 중2병 고유명사 게임 시작부터 온갖 고유명사가 쏟아집니다. "펄스의 팔씨의 르씨가 코쿤에서 퍼지된다"는 고유명사들은 너무 유명해서 다른 평가에서도 찾아볼 수 있으실 텐데, 어떤 사람들은 "인게임에서 설명 제공하니까 이해하기 쉽다"며 이건 문제가 아니라고 합니다. 근데 그 설명이라는건 사전처럼 알아보기 쉽게 써놓은 게 아니라 지난 스토리 요약이나 세계관 중간중간에 들어갑니다. 그리고 그 스토리 요약과 세계관은 스토리 진행에 따라서 풀리기 때문에 초반에는 아무것도 모른채 팔씨 르씨 펄스 퍼지등을 들어줘야 합니다. 설명을 읽고도 한동안은 익숙하지 않아서 팔씨랑 르씨가 언급될 때마다 헷갈리고요. 이 고유명사에 익숙해지고 나면 스토리 자체의 문제가 있습니다. 4.구린 스토리 스토리가 그냥 구립니다. 파이널 판타지 13이라고 모든 걸 13이라는 숫자에 끼워맞춘 스토리인데, 자기들 나름대로는 무슨 장엄하고 대단한 스토리인척 하는데 그냥 억지스럽고 오글거리는 내용이 계속됩니다. 모든 등장인물의 감정선과 사고방식은 작위적이라 계속 개발자의 필요에 따라 급발진을 하고 진정됐다가 다시 급발진을 하는걸 반복하는데 입으로는 다들 개발자 취향의 중2병스러운 대사만 계속 떠들어 댑니다. 부족한 내용을 화려한 그래픽이랑 음악으로 커버하는 수준입니다. 그런 스토리를 진행하는 방식도 문제인데, 우선 파티를 여럿으로 나눠서 플레이어 캐릭터를 강제로 변경시켜가면서 스토리를 진행합니다. 시점도 계속 현재에서 과거로 갔다 현재로 왔다 과거로 가기를 반복해서 안그래도 허접한 스토리가 더 몰입하기 힘들어지고요. 후반부에는 개발시간이 부족하다는걸 증명하듯 중요한 사건들을 자세한 묘사도 없이 대충 대사로만 "사실은 ㅇㅇ였음"같은 식으로 말하고 넘어가기도 합니다. 그래도 여기까진 게임시스템 자체가 재밌으면 참아줄 수도 있었는데....... 5.일직선 진행 이 게임은 시리즈에서도 최고로 극단적인 일직선 구성입니다. 개발진이 영화병이 걸렸는지 자기들이 만드는게 게임이 아니라 영화라고 생각하고 만든 걸로 의심되는데, 정말 다른 시리즈랑 비교도 안되게 극단적인 수준의 일직선입니다. 파티 구성도 극후반 전까진 마음대로 못 정해서 게임이 정해주는대로 해야되고, 진행 루트는 앞으로 가는거 딱 하나뿐이고, 한번 지나치면 뒤로 돌아가지도 못합니다. 파판 10도 일직선 진행이었지만 거긴 극후반부에 자유행동이라도 가능했는데 여긴 그딴거 없습니다. 다른 시리즈처럼 후반부에 비공정 타고 처음 맵으로 돌아가기? 그딴거 없습니다. 게임이 총 13장으로 구성되어 있는데, 1~10장까지는 한번 지나치면 다시는 못돌아갑니다. 그나마 넓은 맵에서 자유행동이 가능한 구간은 11장 뿐이고, 12장부터 엔딩 직전까지는 또 일직선 진행입니다. 미니게임도 없고, 회차 인계도 없습니다. 누가 하든 99퍼센트 똑같은 플레이를 할 수밖에 없는 게임입니다. 그럼 일직선이니까 아무 고민없이 대충 해도 되는 게임이라고 생각하신다면, 그것도 아닙니다. 6.난이도 일직선 진행 게임 주제에 난이도가 은근히 어렵습니다. 스토리 진행 도중에도 중간중간에 난이도가 갑자기 어려워지는 구간이 몇군데 있고, 도전과제라도 올클하려고 하면 더 어려워집니다. 자잘하게 난이도를 올리는 요소중 하나가 전투 중 포메이션을 변경하는 옵티마인데, 후반부엔 전투 한번 할때마다 옵티마를 몇번씩 바꿔가며 싸워야합니다. 근데 매 전투당 첫 번째 변경 때는 반드시 전투 멤버들이 순서대로 폼을 잡는 컷신이 나오게 만들어 놨습니다. 근데 그 컷신 도중에도 적들은 계속 움직여서 쳐맞거나 콤보가 끊어지는 상황이 발생합니다. 무슨 생각으로 넣은건지 모르겠네요. 7.결론 이 게임은 자유도가 거의 없는 극단적인 일직선 구성이기 때문에 사실상 95% 퍼센트 이상은 유튜브 에디션이랑 다를 게 없습니다. 그나마 장점은 그래픽이랑 음악인데 그건 굳이 직접 플레이하지 않아도 즐길 수 있죠. 파판 시리즈의 팬이 아니시라면 안 사시는 걸 추천 드립니다.. 비추.

[h1]Great game for people that don't like JRPGs [spoiler]I mean that as an insult[/spoiler][/h1] [h2]General[/h2] [b]As a standalone game: 6/10 As a Final Fantasy game: 2/10[/b] We could have had another gem like FF10 or a true evolution of the series using the hardware of the time, but instead we get the slop made for appealing to western gamers, a shame to the FF series. This game has around [b]30-70h[/b] of content depending on how you play and how much of the side content you want to explore. But It's just a mediocre movie in the form of a game, even more insulting is the fact that this garbage fire and it's sequels made the FF series be pretty much irrelevant in the PS3/360 era, the main feeling you get is that the game does not want you to play it, just watch. Battle mechanics are fine enough, but the game straight up gives you an auto-battle function, so you can turn off your brain and just occasionally change the party roles to react. The first half of the game is completely linear with no possibility of exploration besides basic "two choices of path that end up in the same spot", all combat until you reach the open world is pretty boring and uneventful since you cannot change your party in any way and progression is the most hand-holdy I have ever seen in a game made by SquareEnix. [b]Just Shameful[/b]. When the game finally opens up there are 5 different zones with around 60 side missions that are all the same formula: get mission on a spot then waste 2/3 minutes walking to the target monster, fight them and then go back to the same spot where you got the mission to turn it in, repeat ad nauseam. [h2]Story[/h2] The story is meh, but the game does a horrible job at familiarizing the player to the world. Story summary: (Spoiler-free but hidden in case you want to find our for yourself) [spoiler]Pretty standard party A vs party B. both sides say that the other are the ultimate enemy that they are monsters with no conscience. There are some very powerful magic beings called Fal'cie on both sides of the conflict, and they are able to give magic powers to humans turning them into L'cie, but that comes with a strict requirement: they must complete a certain objective set by that Fal'cie within a time limit or else they turn into mindless zombie monster creatures. The characters are from Cocoon, a heavenly society where the citizens have every need met and are ruled by the Sanctum, a generic bad guy religious zealot type of overlords, but the general population does not care about that. In contrast their enemies are the people of Pulse, a barbaric, brutal world filled with strong monsters and even stronger humans. There was a war between these two worlds a few hundred years ago and now there is peace. But oh no! the main characters are turned into L'cie by a Fal'cie from Pulse, now they must destroy Cocoon or become shambling monster zombies forever.[/spoiler] As generic as this story is there are people that enjoy it [spoiler]mainly because of Lightning and Vanille[/spoiler] [b]As a standalone story: 5/10 As a Final Fantasy story: 3/10[/b] [h2]Combat[/h2] All enemies have a stagger bar that you fill up by attacking them with damage dealing spells. When that bar completes, the enemy becomes staggered and takes more damage according to how much the bar was overfilled, however that bar slowly depletes if you spent some time not attacking. Physical attacks make the bar drain slower, but they barely do anything to fill it up, while magic spells fill it much more, but make the bar drain much quicker, to the point where a single character is unable to fill it. At the same time it is an evolution and regression of the ATB and job systems in previous games, each character has their roles and they can only perform the learned abilities from a role when they are using it. Roles: Commando - high physical damage Ravager - damage dealing spellcasting Sentinel - drawing aggro and tanking Synergist - buffing party members Saboteur - debuffing enemies Medic - healing and reviving You can change these roles mid-battle but only through paradigms that you create outside of battle by selecting which role a character must be in said paradigm, for example: [table] [tr] [th]Character 1[/th] [th]Character 2[/th] [th]Character 3[/th] [/tr] [tr] [td]Commando[/td] [td]Ravager[/td] [td]Ravager[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Sentinel[/td] [td]Medic[/td] [td]Medic[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Ravager[/td] [td]Ravager[/td] [td]Ravager[/td] [/tr] [/table] That in itself is not that bad, the main problem is that you can only control the leader of the party, the other characters being controlled by the dumb AI. so the only way you can control their actions is by setting up these paradigms, with no way to influence what they do. set up a sentinel-medic-medic party to emergency heal? the medics are going to use the worst heal magic possible and only heal you up to 80% max life. set up a party member as synergist and there is an enemy weak to thunder? they will give you every other buff possible before using the one you need, wasting your time. You are limited to only 6 paradigms so you are severely limited with your actions if you are running characters with wildly differing roles. to the point where it just boils down to: start the battle as synergist-synergist-sentinel to buff out your characters, then ravager-ravager-ravager to build up the stagger bar, then when it fills go to commando-commando-commando, and when a character's hp is too low change into medic-medic-sentinel. The game uses a form of ATB mechanics present in previous games, slight change is that instead of filling up the bar to perform any action available, each action (besides using items) costs an amount of action bars, standard attack costs 1 bar, AOE attack costs 2 bars, so you can set up your moves before the bar fills up and when it does your character acts automatically, or you can turn off your brain and use auto-battle, that does exactly as the name suggests. Stats are extremely basic as well, only having HP, Strength and Magic, the game tries as much as possible to hide the RPG mechanics and number crunching to the point where you can only know certain information by checking online guides. As said in the title is a great game for people that don't like JRPGs, in that regard Square really nailed it, managed to water down RPG mechanics to such a degree that it is one of the favorite entries for people that are not FF fans, for the ones that are fans it will be a soulless activity that will drain you of all happiness and make you wish that the series ended in 12. [h2]Progression[/h2] You are completely unable to farm XP in this game in an effective manner before the very end. Not in a "enemies don't give good XP" way, more so that the character progression chart is only able to be advanced by arbitrarily advancing in the story. The game only really starts on chapter 12, 20 HOURS IN THE GAME, that is the point where the game allows you to change your party, to let characters learn new roles and when the open world and side missions become available. Before that all combat scenarios are made so that you can clear them with no grinding, only real requirement is knowing how to do basic battling and occasionally using the XP to power up your character Weapon upgrading is a pretty important part of the progression in the late game. However, like every other mechanic, the game does a pretty bad job at explaining it for you effectively and the way they obscure the number crunching only works against it. Just watch a YouTube/written guide on how to do it properly. And even when doing it properly get ready to farm endlessly for gil, All ultimate weapons in this game are created by upgrading, no side quest or boss necessary. Just buy the weapon, that says it all.
