About
Developed by Paradox Tinto, the fourth instalment of the award-winning Europa Universalis series gives you a chance to control any nation in the world and lead it through four dramatic centuries - starting from the late middle ages and culminating in the Napoleonic era. Rule your land and dominate the world with unparalleled freedom, depth and historical accuracy. Write a new history of the world and build an empire for the ages.
Europa Universalis IV includes the base game, three expansion packs and one cosmetic compilation pack.

Europa Universalis IV: Control any nation in the world across four centuries of history, writing a new history of humankind from the Age of Discovery to the Age of Revolutions. Accumulate wealth, land and prestige in a fierce competition for global dominance.
Art of War: Centered on the 30 Years War and bubbling political instability between church and state, this expansion features improved gameplay mechanics that puts warfare at the forefront of your quest for domination on the continent.
Common Sense: This expansion focuses on diplomacy and the internal development of nations. It allows you to peacefully develop your nation and build a 'tall' empire, whilst also giving you the tools to execute grand diplomacy. Game changing religious features add depth and intriguing complexity to the gameplay.
Rights of Man: This expansion adds greater depth and detail to a host of game systems. New Great Power diplomatic options give them more flexibility, monarch personality traits add more flavour to the power of the throne and there are new religious options for Coptic and Fetishist religions.
Digital Extreme Edition Upgrade Pack: This compilation pack includes mostly cosmetic content, including new unit art, event art and game music drawn from content packs inspired by Islamic, Ottoman, Central European and American History. It also includes unique events from the American Dream pack.
Start before the Renaissance on a map of the world as it was then. Choose from any of hundreds of nations and then rule up to the Age of Revolutions. Or, if you wish, start your game at any date in the span, with historical monarchs and other leaders.
Hundreds of dynamic historical events are yours to experience, from merely troubling civil wars to world changing moments like the Protestant Reformation. Discover and settle the New World, or resist European conquest.
Control the flow of trade by developing your trade power in key provinces, using ships and governmental policy to bring the wealth of the world to your own ports.
Build alliances into iron bonds, cemented by royal marriage or play a flexible hand, keeping your options open. Strike when your enemies are weak, using your armies to grab new land and new potential riches.
Your nation’s pace of development will be heavily influenced by the person on the throne. Experience rapid development under a skilled monarch only to see things slow down when a less competent heir takes over. Plan for the future by spending monarch power wisely.
Four hundred years of research into new ways of war, administration and trade are available. Unlock new weapons, new buildings and new ship types. Over time, you can embrace national ideas that represent both your historic legacy and your ambitions for the future.
From grand voyages of discovery to religious wars to revolutionary governments, the entire history of the early modern world waits for you to rewrite it in Europa Universalis IV.

Only downside is the amount of dlcs this game has. Otherwise, 10/10 game.

demaciado complicado de aprender
Played 5K hours. Fairly steep learning curve, but a LOT of replayability. More interesting than Civ overall, lots of thinking involved, and every game (even with same set up) gives you new unique challenges, Good Historical background info embedded. I can play marathon sessions or small chunks at a time. So I appreciate that flexibility. And honstly, I like maps, so a great game for that.
When I was a kid, I used too pirate this game. I installed soo many virus' over the years on soooooo many devices trying too play this game. It has ended its life complete, and whole. Finally. There was a point when this game was a mess... now it is put together and I am the mess. Life's funny. Despite the many days I could've been putting this weird obsession into history or something so that despite still being jobless, I would have a History Degree, I recommend you too spend an obnoxious amount of time living out your alt-history fantasies just too never actually get too the point where your nation dominates the world because you are Numero 1 Great Power 100 years in exactly. I don't recommend the pirating. Please don't do that. PDX have bills and staff too pay.
This game has taken many hours from me for many years across so many different and interesting runs that I can't entirely express how much I love this game. For me this is the best strategy/country sim game that I've ever played surpassing any of their other their titles and other games that I enjoyed quite alot such as Stellaris (though they soured my opinions of that game quite alot over the years compared to EU4), HOI4, AOW4, Civ 5 and 6 (there's a reason 7 isn't on the list), Total War: Warhammer 2 and 3 (this one's also kinda mixed for me nowadays), and lastly to be funny its also better than spore which was peak. Almost every part of the game comes together to create just a perfect whole of the experience (even if alot of its barred by DLC which I do admit is a huge drawback for this game and I dislike the subscription model being almost necessary because of it.) My biggest gripes with the game come down to some widely disliked things in general with it such as: Sieges: Holy hell are sieges awful in this game like i've gotten over it (mostly) at this point but man it drags down the experience to be shafted by dice roll RNG preventing you from getting that fort at 42% 5 times in a row without the progress even going up at all especially at critical moments that make or break your game (with which ironman that you need to have on to get achievements can easily lead to a game end), nobody likes getting an endless siege and don't give me bullcrap about a negativity bias and not noticing when it happens to AI because the point is that it's long and overdrawn and a massive hamper on your enjoyment. I wish it was more like CK3's sieges where it gives you a set time for whenever the siege is gonna be finished and then RNG happens on event ticks like EU4 that can make it slightly longer and shorter but you will gradually siege it down no matter what without 10 random failures in a row to hit that 49% siege chance. Performance: This game only runs on a single core and you can feel it even if you have a good computer it can still lag badly because its only using one of your cores because your modern pc didnt expect this game to be unable to actually use most of it's processing power (somehow still better performance than stellaris though KEKW). The game will slow down as the game goes longer more and more until eventually it dredges into intense tedium to wait for things to actually happen. Also the game has begun running a bit worse on my computer since more and more dlcs and content has been added which add more variables to process which has become especially noticeable as speed 5 isn't nearly as fast as it used to be for me. Also backing in and out of lobbies or exiting to the main menu causes the game to entirely relaunch which feels a bit jank but its always been this way so i'm pretty used to it at this point. To conclude this review, if you're looking for a complex strategy game with incredible depth for you to get lost in for hundreds if not thousands of hours this is the game for you. It will be a bit of a rough learning experience at the start but the game isn't nearly as complicated to play as it looks at first glance and after a few runs you will be mostly familiar with how the game works. (Tip for new players: Institutions and Technologies can make or break your ability to fight other countries and develop your country so do not skimp out on those. A single mil tech over your enemy can be a massive advantage to your forces.) If this convinced you to buy the game I hope you have a grand (strategy) time with it and for me please bully Venice, they deserve it.
