Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 7 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Rating: 9/10 ELEX is one of those rare games that doesn’t just settle into a genre—it creates its own. Developed by Piranha Bytes, the minds behind the Gothic and Risen series, ELEX is a bold, ambitious open-world RPG that unapologetically blends science fiction and fantasy into a unique post-apocalyptic setting. While not without its flaws, this game offers an experience that’s hard to forget—and even harder to put down. Piranha Bytes nails what few AAA titles even attempt: a living, breathing world where every step feels like a story. NPCs go about their daily routines, factions have distinct philosophies and cultures, and choices matter. The factions—Berserkers, Clerics, and Outlaws—are all compelling in their own right, and deciding where your loyalties lie is no easy feat. Let’s talk about the jetpack. It’s not just a gimmick—it’s a game-changer. The verticality it adds to exploration opens up hidden areas, tactical combat advantages, and sheer joy in navigating the world. It embodies the freedom ELEX offers, both in exploration and gameplay. The combat system, especially in early game, is punishing. But if you persevere, you’re rewarded with a sense of real progress and mastery. Learning enemy patterns, upgrading skills, and crafting better gear feels genuinely rewarding. It’s a slow burn, but for those who push through the initial struggle, the payoff is immense. Yes, ELEX has rough edges. Animations can be stiff, voice acting uneven, and the UI occasionally clunky. But beneath that rugged surface lies one of the most ambitious RPGs of the past decade. It’s a game for players who want substance over polish, freedom over formula, and imagination over imitation. For fans of Gothic, ELEX is a spiritual successor in every sense. For newcomers, it’s an opportunity to experience a world that doesn’t follow trends—it sets them. It’s not for everyone, but for those who get it, ELEX is unforgettable.
First off, most criticisms the game received are valid, e.g. clunky combat, weird animations and subpar voice acting. It is certainly a far-from-perfect game. But this game has its merits and imo is definitely recommendable especially on sale. The RPG elements are what actually drew me into the game. As a forgotten amnesic soldier, you get to choose which faction to side with and learn their abilities accordingly. This is already a big plus because it creates strong immersion. Weapons have a good variety but I don't feel they differ much to give you more choices in combat, but the combat itself is fine for me. Story is well paced, you can feel that the story is progressing while still taking your time to explore different places or doing side quests. Overall a 7/10 for me, definitely worthing getting on sale when it often gets a 90% discount now in 2025.
As a big fan of Gothic , this felt like home to me. The combat can be quite junky sometimes , but if you are used to playing other games from this developer , you will have no problems learning it. The story is nice, the variety of enemies is good , the characters are quite memorable and you can easily spend over 50 hours playing this game. If you like old school rpg's then play this game.
it is a great classic style rpg start for nothing work your way up
This game is a lot of fun. If you have enjoyed games such as fallout 4 etc. I believe you will get some enjoyment from this game. Some of the enjoyable aspects of this game: - Great interesting and unique story. - Some decisions you make will impact other areas of the game. - The choice of factions. - The fact it is a hard game at the start as you slowly build your skills. Don't get me wrong there are some bugs and minor issues with the game, but these aren't game breaking or even noticeable most of the time. I've spent a lot of time just exploring the scenery, which is a major enjoyment of this game. Unless you are a perfectionist with your games I would recommend it.
Elex is a game taking place in MAGAland where you can join one of three factions the Boomer conservatives who see progress and technology as evil and will exile those who break their rules (berserkers), the radicalized militaristic evangelicals who will brainwash people to recruit them and embrace technology for militaristic expansion using their god as the reason (clerics), and the libertarians who only serve themselves and will backstab and betray everyone to fulfill their on goals and self determination (outlaws). You are Jax an impressionable voter who must choose a faction to join in order to get revenge on your previous party and secure MAGAland for the chosen faction or something. Jokes aside game is decent definitely not a game for everyone if you’ve played other piranha bytes games you know what to expect janky combat, iffy voice acting, busted companion ai, but good world design, exploration and rewarding progression. I haven’t beaten the game but I’ve finally gotten to the point where not everything will kill me in one shot and I can actually put up a fight against basic enemies only took about 20 hours to get there but the stamina system will drive you crazy especially since the most common enemy are animals and they don’t follow the same rules as you for stamina and can stun lock you to death. The one thing that gets me hooked on the piranha byte games is the feeling of progression going from being killed by a breeze to becoming death incarnate is rewarding. If you can get the game on discount I’d give it a shot I was able to get it for around $5 and it was worth it.
