Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 10 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Okay, okay, so, this game has many obvious technical issues. Gameplay balance, mechanical issues, built in RNG. Like, there is a very reasonable argument to be made about many issues with this game. I wish this game had gotten another, like, 6 months of QA and tuning. I really do. That said, if you like well-developed, interesting, and earnest characters? This game is a delight. Do you like political war plotlines where the nuance of what actually goes into a war is covered? Where there's shades of grey going on and the situation is a mess of telephone and different ways to spin a narrative? This game is a delight. I previously played this game all the way through on PS4, which, I will admit, was rough. Mechanically the game is not well optimized, and it didn't lag, but every loading screen was loooong. Navigating menus was long. It's significantly better on PC, but still has some issues. An occasional long pause when starting a dialogue with a shop vendor, maybe a weird graphical bug. Nothing terrible, but it does make playing it a bit more grating than I would prefer. But I still recommend this game for the characters and the narrative. Some of the English translation is a bit extra, but it does a decent job of getting across the sentiments of the Japanese, and it's quite strong at getting across the main plot and the nuances of the military conflict. You can't help but to like the characters and want to spend time with them. Building up your castle is fun. Some of the later narrative feels rushed and skipped over, but they do a good job with it overall. The key points are impactful. The music is well chosen. The sound effects match the situation and are timed well. The character animations are delightful. This game could have absolutely used a bit more time to cook, but I'm glad I'm replaying it on PC. There are a number of technical issues, and I could nitpick aspect of the writing or story, but I'm still enjoying it, and I'm enjoying the characters and narrative so much. It's fun, and I feel it does a good job of balancing the serious elements with the lighthearted. So, tl;dr: It has some obvious technical failings, but has strong characters and some pretty solid maturity in the narrative that are delightful and interesting. It is not a well-polished game, but you can definitely still get a lot of fun with the characters and narrative.

Had to change to keyboard since my gamepad started registering left input as right... Man is the keyboard control scheme ♥♥♥♥♥♥. And no way to configure it yourself.
Tried to like this game after coming from the previous but...i just can't. Dialogue didn't bug me so much as others have feeling for but towards the end got so to be so annoying i just started to skip scenes. Some voiceovers are just absolutely horrendous like they are forced. Lots of mechanics are pretty barebones and feel like they are just thrown in to pad the game. Story going into the last chapter was the breaking point for me as it just devolves into like....why? Makes no sense and really makes you feel like nothing you did up to that point really mattered.
I like JRPG games but this one is super borring the combat takes too long and you will mostly leave it on auto, everything you do feels super dragged out and slow...
First of all, don’t go into this game expecting another Suikoden just because it was obviously marketed around that connection and you can clearly see some of its influence. I think that expectation is exactly what ruined the experience for some people. Honestly? I loved this game. I enjoyed the characters, the battles, the progression, recruiting people, slowly building up your castle and watching it turn into this whole little community. The music was amazing, I enjoyed the story, and overall I genuinely felt like this was just a very well-made JRPG. Of course I could see the Suikoden DNA in it. That’s obvious. But I never needed it to be an exact copy of Suikoden for me to enjoy it. I just took it for what it was, and on its own I thought it was so much fun. And I honestly don’t fully understand when people say they loved Suikoden but had absolutely no interest in this game, because yes, it’s not the same thing, but there are clearly so many elements here that should still feel familiar and enjoyable if that style of JRPG is something you miss. I also loved all the random side activities inside the castle, especially the theatre, it was pretty funny. I haven’t played the DLCs, mainly because too much time passed after I finished the game and I knew I probably wouldn’t remember the characters and their personal stories well enough to enjoy them properly. But the main game? Absolutely worth it for me. I had such a good time with it, and I would genuinely recommend going in without constantly comparing every little thing to Suikoden. Enjoy it for what it is. It really deserves that chance.
The fact that you can miss the last hero just ruined the game for me. To the point, where i regret the time i spent playing. It wouldnt be as bad if the story was good, but its not.
not gone far yet. not bad. just some pet peeves. save points. bleh. i mean, if there are quick saves or quit saves that allows me to pick up from where i left off if i have to leave without wasting the whole session. unalterable viewpoint with stuff hiding behind terrain that you can't see. wtf. could have done with more gfx choices. there's practically none.. could do with an option to speed up combat, especially auto ones. or for that matter... running (in town if not elsewhere) is still too slow. jerkomotion in dungeons. well, at least in the mine think if the character is on the lower side of the path, the screen jerks up and down every few steps. idiotic inventory limits. you can't change runes outside of shops/base, so why limit stacks to 1? ig you want to limit consumables, just make another bag called consumables and stick limits on that. also... can't drop off resources? (at least not at the beginning) why does auto attacks insist on attacking stunned opponents? why no targeting aoe enemies? battle plans severely lacking. idiotic base building order limits. why bother revealing options that you can't get to as they are barred by story progress?
A perfect seven is a solid, well-crafted JRPG that delivers on the genre's core strengths without being a flawless masterpiece.
I picked this up on sale and deliberately skipped the deluxe edition, DLCs, prologue and starter items, assuming they were the usual cash-grab trap. "Quick, pre-order before digital copies run out!" I fell for that with the Suikoden remasters and felt like an idiot. Not here. After seeing mixed "mid" reviews, I expected a half-assed fanmade Suikoden clone. Then I discovered it was Yoshitaka Murayama's final work — and what a work it is. It's essentially Suikoden 2 on steroids: the classic 2D isometric JRPG formula I’ve loved since the PS1 era, complete with 2D sprites over 3D backgrounds that are trendy again. In a time when Atlus and Sandfall are delivering the turn-based JRPGs with modern graphics and technology that fans have been craving, this game still easily outperforms anything Square-Enix has released since FF12. Every one of the 120 recruitable characters has full voice acting. Every interaction, card game, battle and war scene includes lines from your party members. Build a theater in your HQ and the casting options are so wild you can hear Seign’s stoic voice actor playing a high-pitched donkey that sounds like Goofy, breaking character like a method actor stuck in the military. The sheer care put into this slaps you in the face. The HQ feels like a true character. Fans of Suikoden and Skies of Arcadia will appreciate how far they went: customizing trees, lamps, paint, statues, flags, and even your bedroom. Exploring after upgrades is genuinely rewarding. Those free-roam moments make it feel like home. It’s the best castle in the series. That said, the dialogue often falls into cliché hero speak — “YEAH! We have to stop the EMPIRE!” — which can feel dull or cringeworthy. Some portraits look great, others like constipated indie dating sim characters. You learn to overlook both. The combat deviates from the original formula by adding SP for special moves and hero combos alongside MP for spells. This changes the resource management that made classic Suikoden unique, while the limited inventory stays the same. The system never really evolves beyond the first hour — brute force works for everything, which feels like a missed opportunity with such a large roster. For example, Iugo is strong, but his counter mechanic is frustrating and inconsistent. He doesn't tanks most attacks, since it only activates if the enemy misses their attack. War battles are mostly scripted with limited choices, and duels are rare and heavily scripted. Still, the game triumphs. The minigames are surprisingly addictive — the card game is fun, the Beyblade-style monster collecting grows on you, and the egg-racing tamagotchi stuff ate up far too many hours. I even ended up with the eggshell-headed weird woman as Nowa’s final romance. You can do that scene with any of the 119 others, all voiced. After hundreds of hours in JRPGs, getting me to happily complete side content at 35 is sorcery. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel — it’s Suikoden under a new name — but it’s consistent and heartfelt. I’m already planning NG+ and bought the extra content. I was a drooling idiot for not getting the deluxe edition from the start. I just wish Murayama-san could see how he both beat and didn’t quite beat his own creation with this one. It deserved every backer coin, and it deserves yours if you’re willing to invest the time.
