Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 10 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
There are many things I disliked about the game, but more that I did enjoy which tipped the scales in the game's favour. I did not play any of the Suikoden games so I'll be giving my thoughts purely from this game's perspective.
The good:
- Interesting scripted boss battles - Fun boss gimmicks - Theatre - City Building - Cooking battles - Character Interactions - Send expedition teams for resources instead of having to grind for them - Spells, abilities and hero combos look really awesome
The meh
- Story starts strong, drifts off to mediocre towards boring and then picks back up again near the end - SP hero combos are most of the time not worth the party turn economy - Resistances and Weaknesses barely play any effect, you can just use fire on everything, fire on fire elementals, fire on lava monsters, fire on ice monsters, fire on bosses, just fire the world - If you want a challenge, do not under any circumstance venture to the optional boss rush in the bottom of your castle once you unlock it. One fight will catapult your units into levels they should not be at and will trivialize any combats henceforth even the final boss fight. Having said that, the optional boss rush is harder than the final boss fight by a long shot, so that's where you'll go for a challenge once you beat the story. - Fishing
The bad
- What in the name of all that's holy is the purpose of the auto save feature in this game? Watched a long cutscene after a long dungeon? Well no auto save for you. Have you been doing back to back boss fights and have needed to save and close down the game due to RL obligations? Better think again. Auto save triggers on its own whim and is utterly pointless. Have played it for hours without it triggering once. - Beigoma battles - Hero combos as a damage source are laughable for the most part, you're better off using your individual party members to do their own thing and it'll almost always be a better choice than a hero combo. Look great, are crap. - Party composition does have optimal units to use. Momo has single handedly taken down more chunks out of bosses than the team combined. Momo Inferno go brrrr. Despite all of this, I will still recommend the game because it did give me 70 hours of fun. Theatre is hands down one of my favourite activities, always cracks me up. I had to leave the game running for 15 hours because I had other things to take care of and no way of saving after a plethora of back to back combats in story.

This is it. This game finally helped me understand why I hate JRPGs. The game itself looks very nice, neat pixeart mixed with 3D. Some reactions of your characters on somethjing that happens in game are cute. But..! 1) It won't let you play. In half an hour I literally didn't play two minutes straight, the game constantly stops and shove a tons of slow dialogue into your face. I can't stand games that won't let you play. 2) The controls were teleported straight from 1986. The mouse does literally nothing. The keyboard layout feels like someone spilled alphabet soup and called it a control scheme. I felt like a concert pianist just trying to open a menu. Why even release a game on PC if you clearly despise everything about PC controls from the last 35 years? 3) The characters. Of course they look like they escaped from elementary school. And of course, one of them is a wolf. I guess none of my point matters for jrpg fans and it is perfectly fine. However, even though i finished Final Fantasy 7 about 25 years ago (and liked it) and Vandal Hearts are in my life-long top ten, I’m definitely not one of them anymore.
To whoever's bright idea was it to make the chests a random encounter and the recipies a 10% chance of showing up in the store. I hope a coconut falls on your head
This game is buggy and it is very easy to lock yourself out of progressing. Also be careful when using Runeshard of Return.
Achievement Completed: 100% Score: 7.5/10 After clocking in the final achievements (25+ hours of post-game cleanup), I’m ready to share my thoughts. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a decent JRPG, but as a Suikoden veteran, I felt it leaned a bit too heavily on nostalgia. If I didn’t know the dev team's history, I would have mistaken this for a high-effort fan game; it mirrors Suikoden II closely, yet often feels like a "watered-down" version of that masterpiece. Pros: + Visuals: Gorgeous 2.5D graphics. The art direction and sprite work are genuinely beautiful. + Atmosphere: It captures that unmistakable "classic JRPG" soul perfectly. + Music: The soundtracks are phenomenal. The battle music and the main themes are beautiful. The dynamic castle BGM that layers in new instruments as you level up your base is a brilliant touch. Cons: - Gimmick Overload: Too much focus on mini-games and chores. For completionists, some achievements may feel like a slog (some are grindy, and others are RNG reliant), and it feels like the main story was shortened to make room for them. - Lackluster Antagonist: The main villain is "meh"—neither truly threatening nor sympathetic enough to be memorable. - Character Tropes: Many plots and characters feel like slightly pale imitations of the classic Suikoden archetypes. For example, Suikoden fans will spot the "budget" versions of Nanami, Jowy, Anabelle, Viki, Sierra, Luca Blight and/or the City-States vs Highland conflict immediately. If any other developer had made this, it would feel like rip-offs rather than homages. Verdict: It’s not a bad game, but it’s not the masterpiece I hoped for. However, there is enough unexplored lore here to make me hopeful for a sequel. Just as Suikoden II eclipsed the first Suikoden, I want to believe we would get Eiyuden II, and it will be the one to truly shine. Edit: I've just found out that the bad ending is somewhat more impactful that the good ending. So, I recommend to play without necessarily recruit all the heroes first to enjoy the best experience. Get the best ending on the New Game +.
Well, as a suikoden fan, I think this game is the true successor of that series. Though, the game design and QoL are almost the same as a PS2-era games. Don't mind it, still like it, would replayed again! 👍
story is bad and combat is boring.
Insanely grindy game and not in a good way. To get the good ending, you "for some less than intelligent" reasons, you have to play their boring, pathetic, disgusting, poorly designed brain rot of a mini game - fake Pokémon. If they actually bother to made that good, it isn't a problem, but that is seriously one of the most lazy, mind destroying piece of garbage this world has seen. Take everything that is good about Pokémon, remove them, then add in the worst thing you can find in your local garbage dump, mix in with the refuse from your local kebab shop and ferment with your local night club toilets with gone off fish. That is close but still not quite as bad as what they manage to make. You can't help but think that you have done some serious war crime to deserve playing that. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, seriously, not even war criminal deserved this. Please, save yourself and do not play this game because of that. Otherwise, okay good game.
I'm fine with the spiritual successor vibe, but a lot of the characters just stop and don't even contribute past their voiced lines. It tried so hard to be Suikoden that it doesn't try to do anything for itself. There was a lot of potential here, and we're given DLC to expand on it when I'd rather get the story and experience for the base cost. Got it on sale, and still not pleased with the grind and need to auto battle my way through the game.
