This game is a husk of what it could be. There's so much wasted potential, and also, it has very stupid limited mechanics (wanna change weapons? gotta return to the city!). The towns are empty, all the side quests (which are few and bland) are all "fetch this" or "go there", the SAME ENEMIES COLORED IN DIFFERENT WAYS are the main blight: there's no originality nor diversity. Overall, the game is very tedious, boring and it detaches the player even from the good side: only the combat. Which is flawed because you'll fight the same enemies over and over for all the game. Wasted money tbh
The game is $70, and I feel like I've got an absolute pile of garbage. I hope you like boars, or like killing boars. Because you'll be doing it a lot in the beginning, as well as having your companion tell you that there's a boar. Or a wolf. Or an anything type that isn't even anywhere near you. Like they're stuck in some kind of endless loop of voice lines. Combat is melee focused, which is fine. You have some decent attacks, you can block, dodge, use skills. It's kind of fun, if the enemies weren't such boring slogs of boar flesh and other uninteresting enemies. I guess I knew what I was getting into considering I played the demo and all. I just figured that was kind of the intro and the game would grow and become better. It doesn't. I'm not familiar with Sword Art Online, despite having several games in the series... Heck, I even have the anime. I just haven't watched it. Or played the other games. The story seems alright, but it also feels like it instantly doesn't matter. We get the big reveal early on, and then the story fizzles out into some boring quests about killing stuff. And then, well.. The game just took a big 'ol dump on me. I couldn't keep working on the Search for the Flowering Nepenthes quest. I get to the spot to load the boss fight and I've got a message saying "Unable to access during an event." There is no event. I head back to a fast travel spot, fast travel to town. Fast travel to the closest spot where I was. It's working. Great! I fight the flower things. I'm supposed to pick up the flowering nepenth that I need. But... I can't. It's not there. I can't bring up my map. I run to the nearest fast travel point. I can't interact with it. I try to bring up the menu. I can't do that. Running around trying to interact with things and I finally get that same "unable to access during an event," message. Well shucks. I have no choice but to Alt + F4 to close the game. I close it. I restart it. I load back up at the village where I had the quest. The quest has started over. All that time and effort wasted. Lost, like tears in the rain. And then the memories of the experience so far came rushing back like a tidal wave of mediocrity. The world is somewhat large, but boring and lifeless. Enemy variety is mostly nonexistent. Combat becomes repetitive within minutes. The constant quips from your party member about chests and monsters makes me wish I was that kid from The Twilight Zone that could turn people's mouth holes into enclosed fleshy bits. I do not recommend.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

fun
this game sucks its a 4 hr tutorial just for me to create a character then it somehow uses the base character not the one I made after i completed the tutorial, so I have to restart completely from the beginning just to make my custom character again
Repetitiv af
Pleasantly surprised, I did enjoy this game. Of course there were some unpolished edges, but I did notice the amount of detail that was put into the rocks, water, or smoke effects from a candle even. the graphics and monster design were well fitted to the SAO anime and the aoe and particle effects were entrancing. I give credit where credit is due. I don't think the npcs were lifeless, you will do a quest for an npc who's at first a cantankerous geezer who essentially robs you, but towards the end of the questline you learn he lost his wife and isn't such a bad guy. He even makes you a suit of armor in honor of his late wifes memory. Another instance is where an npc you initially travel with is overcome by the loss of a friend and you try to save her from making a mistake, but end up failing to do so. Don't get me started on poor ol Cal (T . T) BUT. hey- where's our 100 floors? I milked all that I could out of this game for what I spent. I also was kind of bummed that the variety of mobs were limited. I enjoyed decapitating and watching the life leave every one of those boars, bugs, wolves, & golems-truly. But wish we had a little more to choose from at the buffet. That and the limitation when exploring makes it less of an open world experience. but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed my first English dubbed SAO game. Will play the death mode at some point.

Ancora troppo acerbo
I never played a SOA title and tried this game. Normally I know that there is much effort programming but this title is not worth a penny. All levels are the same, sound is the same "Oh look a tresure chest" and what you get out of it is just a health potion or in some cases a blueprint - that you don't need because the drops are so frequently in this game. Your companions are really AI - Artificial Idiots... They are attacking so slow that you don't need them. The battles are annoying. Most of the time your special attacks don't hit the opponents and they see you a mile away, so that your stamina is empty. Opponents just appear out of nothing and if you miss just one evasion it is not possible to evade the next bosses steps. I son't know for what you collect things - there is no room to take more than 5 potions with you or firestones etc. It is the most disappointing game I bought this year. Save your money and play Granblue, Expedition 33 or Dragonsword - they are cheaper and more woth than this game....
