In three distinct campaign episodes hand-crafted from straight outta the '90s, players will battle through an onslaught of mystical backwater cultists, possessed militants and even darker forces and attempt to discover just what lurks beneath the Earth. Featuring a vast arsenal of badass weaponry including sickles, swords, crossbows, rifles, dual-wielded and double barreled shotguns and incredibly necessary grenade and rocket launchers, DUSK brings unapologetic retro action from start to finish.
In addition to the main campaign, DUSK features an Endless Survival Mode, putting you front and center against wave after wave of merciless enemies.
And for those looking for an extra challenge, DUSK also offers the chance to go head to head online to battle your friends in DUSKWorld arena multiplayer, where darkness hosts the worst of humanity in surprising new ways...

Most games don't let you flip 360 degrees mid air while throwing a bar of soap at a dude across the room causing them to explode into a fine red mist. But this game does. That's nice.

This is the definitive boomer shooter that all others should measure themselves against. A masterpiece made by a single male. Not counting the music which has been finely crafted by an angel. Runs on anything OG Doom will run on. The y camera axis is unlocked so you can do backflips just by jumping and moving your mouse up. The missions are unique and continuously interesting. The enemies are sufficiently varied and introduced at a good pace. After playing this game, all other shooters feel almost too slow. The details are so fun, like the ability to cook gibs in a campfire, or one shot every boss by throwing soap at them. Every little thing makes me wish more games had this much charm and passion and fun. When I played on a $400 laptop, this game gave me hours of fun. Now on a 9070xt, with the capabilities to play any game I so please, I still come back to this gem. Buttery smooth, utterly awesome, and supremely cool in every way. Get it now. 10/10.

É um boomer shooter que estive enrolando pra zerar faz alguns anos. Me lembrou bastante Quake. A mecânica de escalar parede poderia ter sido usada mais e o design dos inimigos são muito bons. Gunplay muito divertido!
what's dusk? a bar of soap is the most powerful thing in the world, set an evil midwest farm in Pennsylvania, cig, shotgun goes TUM PUM, the soundtrack is best, ungodly means, this will get your heart pounding, it has escher labs and oozes quality, minecraft style blocks, if you like quake and RTC wolfenstein this is a must play, even the grandpa i386/90s graphics are insane, civvie, David Szymanski is a goated game maker ❤️ i need dusk 2. Абсолютний шедевр серед бумер шутерів. Очевидно, що це схоже на дум, тому якщо вам зайшов дум і хочете ще подібного в ретро стилі, то це прямо для вас. [h3] Геймплей та зброя [/h3] Мувмент дуже приємний та плавний, особливо на великих мапах, де можна розбігтись та баніхопити (так, тут є повноцінний баніхоп в якому якщо вчасно стрибнути при приземленні то можна нарощувати швидкість руху). Арсенал доволі обширний, є навіть [spoiler] мило. До речі я не жартую, мило в цій грі наносить аномально багато шкоди. На ранніх етапах розробки це був баг, але розробники вирішили не виправляти, а залишити як є. Так що мило тут ваншотає усіх мобів, а босам просто зносить багато здоров'я. [/spoiler]. І так, в грі не лише можна стріляти зі зброї яка у вас є, а також брати та кидати предмети навколо вас. Якщо закінчились набої — не страшно! Можете взяти найбрижчий камінь і кидатися ним! Але це не буде так само ефективно як вогнепальна зброя, звісно. Вам більше пощастить, якщо на рівні, який проходите, буде лежати лезо циркулярної пили, от подібним можна спокійно кидатися. Ну і звісно ж, велику червону бочку можна не просто підірвати вистріливши, а прямо кинути у ворогів. Тільки дивіться, щоб самі вороги не вистрілили у вас та не підірвали цю ж бочку у вас в руках :) [h3] Секрети [/h3] Особисто мені дуже сподобалась велика кількість секреток на рівнях. Я не зміг всі їх знайти самотужки бо цих секретів просто надто багато. Тут є три світи, в кожному з яких по 10 рівнів + 1 секретний. На кожному з тих десяти по декілька секреток (десь від 5 до 8, в середньому), так що якщо любите щось шукати, то тут буде чим зайнятись. Деякі заховані на стільки добре, що просто жах, але як нагорода, для цих особливих секреток є окремі досягнення. Сюжет тут може бути незрозумілий на перший погляд, але цікавий. Не знаю що ще на рахунок нього сказати щоб без спойлерів. [h3] Висновки [/h3] Гра однозначно вартує своєї ціни, особливо по якійсь знижці. Особисто я її взяв разом з набором (Ultrakill, Dusk та Amid evil) і ні про що не шкодую, усі ігри просто офігезні.
I decided to replay Dusk after years since the last time and after completing the campaign I can say that it still holds up pretty nicely; after all this time it remains one of the finest retro-inspired FPS available. I see a lot of people arguing about the level design: personally I think it's one of Dusk's strongest point, with large levels full of secrets to discover , with a degree of complexity that is never too excessive. Maps can be intricated but never confusing and I've never felt lost. By the way, my favourite maps are E1M8, E2M7 and E3M3. And then there's the atmosphere, the arsenal (I love the crossbow!), the fast paced action, the enemies, Andrew Hulshult's soundtrack, the bar of soap... It's not a very long game, as it took approximately ten hours to complete the campaign, but you can still replay the levels to find stuff you missed, not to mention the secret levels. My only complaint is that boss battles are a bit uninspired.
