Reviews
An extremely well-crafted fps game that re-aroused interest in boomer shooters among many people, and indie devs as well. Extremely polished locations both in terms of design and their intricate labyrinth-style construction that makes them perfect for sometimes tactial, sometimes intense "horde-shooting" gameplay. The roster of 9 weapons and one cigar more than make up for an engaging experience, especially considering that almost each of them is totally unique and has its pros and cons that can be used in many different situation. Like take the crossbow that can pierce through mobs and walls so you can kind of try to play a "hide and shoot em" or use a mortar to try and wipe out an army in a grotesque bloody fountain with a few explosions (watching out so as not to become a part of this modernist exhibition yourself). THis is truly wonderful and considering how well it has preserved through those years, one should know for sure it is a kind of milestone for the boomershooter genre. And thus a must-play. At least for those who like shooters

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I just love the game, always played intruder mode(sickle start) and always had a blase also loved all the unique powerups and the cool level design, vibes and atmosphere
Honestly this is one of the most important games in the modern Boomer Shooter Revival era of FPS games. If you're new to this game/genre I suggest going in completely blind if possible. And while it does replicate the 90's era of FPS games, the gameplay and accessibility is surprisingly modern, just different from what you'd experience in mainstream FPS games.
Graphics are simple, and so is the action. But why is that a bad thing? The controls are tight, it's super easy to hop in and play for as short or as long as you like. Most of the levels have a great feel about them as well, and it's rare to get lost or feel like you're in a slog. Overall, the action is very satisfying, the weapons are great (double barreled shotgun is POWERFUL) and the atmosphere is on point. Definitely recommend playing with headphones if you want the true experience. The sound and music add a HUGE amount to the game.
HELL YES
its crazy good, like pop tarts
My personal favourite boomer shooter, crazy atmosphere and cool bosses, gets really difficult later into the game, weapons are all fun to use and require skill. Big John is my dad.
TLDR: 8/10 Aggressively Quake-Like in All the Right Ways

Actual Review (No Spoilers)
It's a really good modern interpretation of old school shooters. Dusk uses classic tropes, level design, and gamefeel of the original Quake, while adding in extra gameplay elements that were not possible due to the limited tech of the time. It's quite an interesting mix of both. I'd describe Dusk as "a kid wearing their parents clothes". Looks and feels retro, but subtly has modernization mixed in. Pretty much my only issue with the game is that a few design choices were made in respect to the retro feel, but in reality should've been left in the past. Hiding secrets behind misaligned wall textures is a perfect example. The only reason that was ever a thing is due to limitations. Regressing back to things like that just feel dated in an annoying way, regardless of the reason being homage or not. Overall it's worth a playthrough, then a 100% playthrough. It's one of those "I can knock this out in a single week" type games, so it's a perfect short but sweet little experience. 8/10
its fine
