Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Latest in each market: best JP #37, worst KR #80 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Je n'ai pas joué à l'original. Ce remaster est très joli, toujours avec la même DA. Le reste est classique et si vous aimez les Dragon Quest, vous aimerez celui-ci.
it's just okay

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.5/day in the week to Aug 5 → 3.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I played through the original for the first time after this was announced (haven’t played the 3DS remake) and fell in love with it. Incredible game to start with that has some aspects that’d scare people away. There are plenty of changes from the original that I outright disagree with (rip to the cut scenarios and shortened or removed dungeons) but overall there’s a lot of great stuff with this one. Love the art style here, seems like such an excellent way to capture the feeling of the original yet be modern and not go to that typical modern game 3d camera that just changes how you look at everything. The additional story content is pretty good- there’s tweaks to the original stuff that I think mostly works well and the added scenario feels like a lot of heart was put into it. The changes to how combat works are all interesting- I love the original (which sticks pretty closely to traditional Dragon Quest mechanics) but its fine to change things up- it’s a different game! It feels like they went out of their way to incorporate “quality of life” fixes for common criticisms of turn based rpgs- no random encounters, weak enemies can be defeated without going into battle, rather than actions being picked at the start of the turn you pick the action right before the character does it, more transparency and easy of access to the vocation system, and much more. It all feels incredibly fair to the player while still interesting enough. My one major complaint is I think while simplified the vocation system is just worse- abilities being locked to vocations makes it way less fun to build characters but its so easy to max out the vocations they probably realized you’d be too powerful if it still worked that way. The difficulty has been toned down to an extreme degree for normal mode. There’s so many difficulty options here it’s a shame that they couldn’t make the base difficulty more in line with the original game- you can tweak everything to your liking anyway if you run into trouble but you most likely won’t. Most encounters in new areas I’m already able to quick kill the enemies on the map and the auto battle tactics take care of 99% of any battles I have to do with no additional input from me- incredibly easy to coast through the game. I’ll have to give harder modes a go in the future but wanted to just go through with whatever they set to normal. This makes it an even bigger shame they cut out so many dungeons. It feels like in a lot of ways they want this to be a first Dragon Quest or RPG in general for people. Not sure if I personally would recommend it as a first Dragon Quest game or a first RPG even (it’s hard to do when the original absolutely isn’t that and I’d strongly recommend playing the original first), I think it absolutely aims to be and could be for some though! Definitely worth your time if you’ve played the original (and you absolutely should). Hope to see more remakes or original games with this approach.
just when you think its over it continues great game
this is A++++++++++++ best game i have played in years with such a addiction!!!!!
juste incroyable
Go out on an adventure, meet charming characters, see some seemingly disconnected storylines, some end happy, some end in sadness, watch how it all ends up connecting and defeat the demon lord. And it's great everytime. Dragon Quest is perhaps the JRPG franchise with the most consistent quality across all mainline titles. so If you like one chances are you'll like them all. This is the one with the most QoL features up until now, even more than XI. I really liked the diorama style, didn't expect it to look so good with Toriyama's art.
