14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 5 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hello Friends, Today I will review the game Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. This is a monster catching game with some story elements mixed in. The main character is actually a villain from one of the mainline Dragon Quest games. In this game, players control the main character who is named Psaro. This is apparently the same villain as the character from the mainline Dragon Quest IV. I personally never played the newer versions, but i have played original version. The story revolves around this character and their actions in the game. Due to a curse, the main character cannot fight, so must become a monster wrangles to use monsters to fight his battles. The players will go around and catch monsters. Like a certain mainline Nintendo series, this is a monster catching game with story elements mixed in it. Don't expect a world shattering storyline. The main focus of the game is catching monsters. After playing different area's, the players will unlock the synthesize monster ability. This lets players synthesize 2 monsters together to create a new one with some of the abilities of the "parent" monsters that were synthesized to make the new one. Some monsters in the game are only available if you synthesize 2 monsters together, or more. Note: This version contains almost all the DLC from the original version. There are a couple that are missing. Someone mentioned this on the game forum. All storyline and main DLC are in the game though. PROS: - A monster catching dragon quest game. - Characters from dragon quest games. - A weather system that changes what monsters you can catch at what season. - Over 500+ catchable monsters, and including ones players can synthesize. - PVP and online functions. NOTE: Please read below in cons about a issue with online treasure trunks. CONS: - On using the treasure trunks, it causes a updated version of the policy revisions. Issue is it does not allow you to do it all the time. It can run into a error sometimes saying it cannot connect to the online policy servers. You can see the error here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3758802673 - Some players have reported ghost inputs for the game with controllers. Apparently a player also found a fix for this issue here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2175540/discussions/0/4628106985313728768/ - The game can get grind heavy at certain locations in the game, so if players are having issues with beating certain bosses, they may want to make sure they got at least one healer on their team. Do I recommend the game? Not at the full price it sells at. When I purchased the game, it was on sale for 10 dollars US. So I suggest it is a decent game to get on sale. It is a monster catching game like a certain famous Nintendo game. The difference between this game and that game is all the monsters in this game are from the world of Dragon Quest games. Also, the main character is actually from one of the mainline dragon quest games too, and is a tie in into the game world. For what it is, it is not a bad monster catching game, but some parts can be grind heavy.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Game is like, terribly boring in term of story (to think it's a prequel to DQ4 lol) combat is very uninteresting, and I strongly feel that all the charm of old monster joker games has dried up, You're left with a somewhat mid game, with a few interesting landscapes or stuff, that you should pick up when its 10 bucks, anything above that would be a shame
The Dark Prince is comfortably the worst creature collector game I've ever played. It is clunky and controls poorly and the combat is dull and simple- you spend the game going from place to place autobattling in between cutscenes, seemingly forever.
great game and I will change this to a recommend after 1 issue is resolved. accepting the privacy policy is required to access multiple features in game, and while I can get it to pull up, can read it, and agree to it in game, it always gives a network error afterwards. have seen mention of others with the same issue and no solution. edit: found a workaround. was playing on the Steam Deck and receiving the error there. launched the game on a windows pc and I did not receive the error, so I was able to accept the policy, and go back to playing on Steam Deck and can confirm the features requiring the privacy policy acceptance now work on it without issue, so it can successfully connect for using the features, but not for accepting the damn privacy policy. still needs to be fixed, but at least I can experience all parts of the game now.
This is an absolute insult to the Dragon Warrior Franchise. I love the characters. The models are very very awesome. Even the animations are quite cool. That is where the good ENDs. Story- daddy issues, Gameplay - the Gameboy Original, not color, has the exact same control stuff. Its turned based with character models everywhere and few extras with "seasons" aka day night cycle. Its like they refused to pay anyone to play it and tell them the truth. The settings or background and scenes - hello generated slop, 0 interactive.. okay 1 out of 10. Also, if they need an artist for the scenes, they can get them for real cheap right now in the US. This is a Gameboy clone with the same amount of ram. Do not pay for this game unless you just want to collect creatures and waste time grinding and slogging very very very repeated battles. Yeah, so that sucks also. About 15 hours in the progression just takes a full drop to an annoying level. I should do a full YouTube video about all the issues I have. Its a bad collection game with old as dirt everything designed right into the feeling of 0 accomplishment.
