Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

So, this game has been a favorite of mine since late 2019. Don't let my play time fool you, that's just what I've done on Steam. I've got physical copies for playstation and switch and have easily sunk several thousand hours into it in the last 6 1/2 years. Gameplay is very straightforward, simple to learn and simple to master, but that allows a lot of room for creativity pretty much right off the bat. The story is equally straightforward: it gets a little hand-hold-y and definitely encourages you to focus on progression for the sake of unlocking the full suite of build features, and does more tutorializing for each new feature than is probably necessary for an adult audience. That said, once you're past the initial hurdle of the tutorials on each main story island, there's still a lot of room for creativity. If a character tells you to go and collect supplies, there's nothing stopping you from going and doing something else if you've got the materials in pocket for it. If you're looking for mechanically in-depth building systems, this is unfortunately probably not for you. While the gameplay system is essentially Minecraft-Lite, you don't have anything equivalent to, say, redstone. Most of the mechanical complexity is in NPC behavior rather than machinery. Not to mention modding is basically nonexistent; a few shader mods, dev console, and a broken FPS cap remover. (Locked at your choice of 60 or 30 otherwise.) If you're looking for something on-par with Minecraft and its mechanical and modding ecosystem, you should probably stick to Minecraft. If you're looking for a game with a very easy loop of collecting and building, this is definitely for you. I've lost a lot of time when a session I intended to be 2 hours at most turned into closer to 11. As the game progresses, you can eventually unlock a pseudo-creative mode: collecting items on the randomly generated side-islands nets you unlimited supplies of certain materials, and the postgame allows you to outright purchase items you've previously collected for the gratitude points you get for making happy settlements. On top of that, completing enough objectives unlocks the ability to build in 3rd person at long range, essentially by point-and-click instead of being manually placed down by the player character. Combined with the ability to opt into the online features that allow people to share screenshots and explorable copies of their own builds, the momentum for creativity gets easier and easier as the game goes on. The story and its overall message isn't terribly subtle, and in fact it pretty clearly telegraphs how the plot is going to play out from the word go. However, this is deliberate: Builders 2 acts as a sequel to Dragon Quest Builders, but also as an alternate universe sequel to Dragon Quest 2 from 1990. Much like the first Builders game, which was in turn an alternate universe sequel to the OG Dragon Quest, it takes a late game detour and a last-minute event from canon and plays "what if?" with it through the whole game, essentially inverting the narrative arc by turning what had been a plot twist into a looming inevitability. That said, if you've never played Dragon Quest 2, that's more just a matter of "huh. neat." So, outside of that, it's still charming in a very teen-shounen-storytelling-meets-classing-JRPG-tropes sort of way. Power of friendship to fight god and all that fun stuff. Anyways, 11/10, undeniable comfort game that's been very easy to come back to. If you're looking for something to play instead of Pokopia because you don't want to buy a Switch 2 and also a $70 game you don't actually own, then this is for you. Same developers, same engine, different IP.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Had my save corrupted on xbox so I bought on here, in hopes I could at least back my saves up this time. Wish I had read the reviews of the corruption issue still occurring on PC...The game fundamentally destroys itself after so many hours played... Game performance is awful compared to xbox. The controller has no smoothing on the sensitivity just raw input. Feels like I'm moving the camera in a gamecube game from 15 years ago. Could be an issue on my end but everything else works just fine... The community openly publishes sexual content/uncensored hentai in a children's game. In-game right in your face on a discussion board you're required to build. With no moderation from Square Enix or Steam whatsoever. Like yeah its fun the first time around. About 8/10. Then your save corrupts itself. Then you realize its gonna be another 20 hours of spamming A on dialogue just to get all the blocks unlocked you had back. All whilst fighting a Nintendo 64 era camera system. If they make a 3rd game I hope they lean more into the open world sandbox Minecraft playstyle. Needs more freedom and less hand holding. No linear questline with progression locked blocks, but open world quests with freedom to explore/build/farm play how you want to play. I shouldn't have to spend 3 hours speed running a questline just so I can actually unlock a farming plot to satisfy my hunger(that was a problem 3 hours ago). And an actual save system that works properly....even after many hours of play...
681 hours in as of typing this review, and that's only on Steam. I've clocked over 1,500 hours on the Nintendo Switch as well, and I'm still not bored of this game! I've unlocked every achievement, and now I'm aiming to finish out the Medals and Builderpedia just so that I can continue to build! This is definitely one of the best crafting games to grace our great timeline. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in Dragon Quest and/or crafting.
小时候在电视上的游戏风云频道看的,总之还是圆了童年梦的,不过没小时候看的时候觉得那么好玩了,终不似少年游
Easy recommendation. Hits an 8 to 10 on basically every metric. If you're not normally a fan of building games because they are too open ended, this might be the one for you since the experience is much more guided with quests, characters, and plot progression.
Honestly just annoyed with the game. At a point where they give you a half built building and want you to make a throne room with a layout already kinda there. I decided to spend a few hours decorating it and making the royal bedroom nearby only to realize the throne room doesn't even register as a room. That leads to me finding out about the 150 block limit so I can't have a big throne room and now have to spend even more time undoing all I did and fixing it all and it just killed the mood for me like the power going out after 3 hours deep into a game without saving. If you like the first one this is more or less that but expanded. The game does like to waste your time like when it decides to play a victory jingle you HAVE to wait the 10-15 seconds for it to finish before the game gives back control. Then you have the obnoxious voice in a certain character's head that speaks very slowly and after the text stops you have to wait what feels like another 20 seconds before loading the next line. There are quite a bit of QoL added in form of tools and fast travel but I'm just agitated at the game and need a break. Only bad thing is if I ever get in the mood to come back to finish it.
My playtime is high and I did finish the game and do some creative building in the game. Overall it's not the worst port done by square enix, but it is still a square enix port. Meaning controls are terrible on keyboard and mouse, the controller support is hit or miss and seems to be best for an xbox controller, so those of us that prefer playstation controllers are out of luck. The game has had some issues on the newest windows which seems to be common for most square enix ports lately so be advised. There are discussion posts to help with most issues but it is sad in this day and age that square enix cannot seem to do a better job curating their older title and ports.
