New York’un hali ayrı bir atmosfer.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I cannot bring myself to continue with this game any longer. Crysis 1 is something special to my heart, but after playing Crysis 2, the charm is gone. Crysis 1 offered a "sandbox" experience, where players could choose their own paths, tackle objectives in various ways (stealth, speed, or armor), and explore. The levels were expansive enough to feel open, particularly in the first half of the game, allowing for diverse tactics. Now, with Crysis 2, the setting is a claustrophobic New York. Shoot-outs in parking lots.... Essentially, it has gone from one extreme to another. It’s not clicking for me and feels jarring. I’d prefer the setting to be on a tropical island or in some Southeast Asian jungle rather than in a concrete jungle. Crysis 2 has wholly become dumbed down. The stealth system completely sucks with the psychic AI. I am hiding in cover, yet they are still shooting in my direction, even though I was using the cloaking device to get to that position beforehand which defeats the purpose of even having a Nanosuit... All in all, it is okay. Don't get me wrong, but the developers should have thought more about the setting. Maybe they should have gradually transitioned into the style of Crysis 2, rather than immediately shifting from an expansive map to one with barely any space. In my opinion, the game is just mehhh and mechanics feel slightly dated now.
I like the robo COCKroaches
Well. After watching my brother beat this on the Xbox 360(yes...he played it all the way through, sacrilege for the PC Master Race I know) and now beating it myself once on the second hardest difficulty, Here are my thoughts. Not as interesting or varied environment wise compared to the first one since its in New York, very linear, which WILL piss fans of the original off. suit mechanics have improved and are easier to use with the controller, plus killing Ceph gives you currency to upgrade your suit. These upgrades provide a moderate effect to gameplay, not enough to add replay value in my opinion. You also have items like dog tags and recordings to collect every mission that unlock bonus content. The story in fairly straight forward, nothing special, better than the first in my opinion but not by much. Newbies may find this fairly outdated by todays standards. Graphics were ahead of their time but mechanics are cumbersome by todays standards and PRophet(the main character) survives about the same as the protagonist from Call of Duty, the suit doesnt really feel powerful or otherworldly in comparison to similar games like Ghostrunner. You dont get cool weapons or god tier upgrades like a plasma sword or advanced suit modes that combine functions as rewards for milestones. I havent used mods so no idea how they work but I hear they have some great ones that add a ton of replay value Since its till available, get it on sale if you want it over the remaster, since 30 bucks is too much for a game this old
certified hood classic
Crysis 2 – A Sequel at War With Itself
Crysis 2 is a gorgeous, polished shooter that unfortunately feels like a sequel designed for players who never played the first game, while continuing a story only fans of the first game would understand. It’s a strange contradiction that defines the entire experience. If you’re coming from Crysis 2007 or Warhead, be prepared: almost everything that made those games special has been stripped back. Gone are the open levels, emergent combat and manual saves. In their place are narrow corridors, forced camera moments and checkpoint only progression that often feels more like Call of Duty than Crysis. The problem isn’t that this structure is bad, it’s that it replaces the identity of the franchise rather than expanding on it. The game constantly wrestles with itself. It wants to be a cinematic blockbuster, but it’s also trying to follow up a sandbox classic. It wants to appeal to a new console audience, but it assumes knowledge of a story those players never had access to. It showcases CryEngine 3 beautifully but often feels more like a tech demo than a true successor to Crysis. The result is a visually impressive shooter that’s enjoyable in bursts, but deeply conflicted. If Crysis 2 had been the first game in the series, it might have been easier to accept. As a sequel, it feels like a step backward, a game pulled apart by competing goals and never quite sure who it’s for. If you want a linear sci fi shooter with great atmosphere, it delivers. If you want the freedom and agency of Crysis 1, this isn’t it. Update after finishing the game I used Veteran mode on my first playthrough and spent more than 30 hours exploring every area while running into many invisible barriers that restricted movement. The best way to describe the experience is this: press mouse 1 to move, press mouse 2 to move, press W to move forward. I am not joking, that is literally how some of the constrained and forced gameplay is handled, pushing the player to move exactly as instructed. Even on Veteran the game is easy because the guidance is so heavy handed that it removes most of the challenge. The design is guided and restrictive, and it drains the excitement fast. If you have played Crysis 1 or Warhead you know how open and creative the series can be. Those games let you experiment and actually feel like you are using a nanosuit. Crysis 2 pushes you down narrow paths and never gives you the same freedom. The visuals are impressive but as an entry in the Crysis canon it falls short. It does not live up to what came before and it never finds its own identity. In short, skip this one. It is a major disappointment.
Victim of consolification
Crysis 2 is yet another entry in an evergrowing list of games, where a ground-breaking PC exclusive with in-depth mechanics gets dumbed down in order to appeal to a more lucrative console market. Being a huge step-down from the original, I cannot recommend this game to anyone unless you enjoy games pampering you like you are 5 years old.
Visuals
The only positive thing I can say about this product is that it looks really good, on-par with AAA releases from up to 5 years later. It does come at a cost though. Events are choreographed to the extreme, more resembling an elaborate form of theatre, where the players is one of the actors, who did not learn their script. On multiple occasions I would be thrown around in ways that don't make sense, only to place me in the spot where the next cutscene ends. I was always either too fast or too slow for all those scripted events. They did not give two sh*ts about player organically experiencing the events that transpire. Instead of guiding the player attention we get a handy "Press F too look" prompt, which made me look at a blank wall half of the time, since I was standing in a wrong spot. As a cherry on top I have to add multiple graphical glitches and low FPS on a rig from 2020.
Gameplay
As I said - dumbed down for the console neanderthals. Short list of removed/simplified features - Speed and strength modes are gone. They are supposedly also situational, but... - ...speed mode now just means energy drain from regular sprinting. At one point there is a speedometer set for 25 MPH in the game, and if you sprint past it, it clicks. I find it cute, since top speed in this game is like a senior citizen jog. - Open areas have been replaced with streamlined arenas connected by hallways. The biggest insult is the game always presents points of interest "tactical options" as if to convince the player that they still have some freedom of choice. This just plain bullsh*t - "weapons cache" or "exit" is not a tactical option - Leaning is now situational. This means you can only lean from several selected spots on a map and this means you will never lean in this game - Going prone is gone - Different ammo types for the same weapons are gone - Sleep darts are gone - Environment destructibility is gone - Flashlights are gone and replaced by some bullsh*t "nanovision" which is like heat-vision that only highlights the enemies and drains your energy - Laser sights are downgraded to the point where you can hip-fire for sh*t - Many other miscellaneous features are gone including water vehicles, dual-wielded pistols, shotgun modes and more Instead we got: ledge grabbing (such innovation. Almost like Thief hadn't done this 13 years prior), armor upgrades (most of which are useless anyway) and more interesting weapons (at the cost of limited customizability and also it's not like the first game was lacking in guns anyways)
Art direction
With this much budget dedicatied to making this game as pretty as possible one would think they would bother with some interesting character and enemies designs. But no, the cephs are just humanoid enemies now that behave almost the same as the humans do, with only 4 types of alien enemies, (grunt, stronger grunt, heavy grunt and some end-game high-armor grunt). It is so boring it gives me a headache. It is particularly disappointing when compared to the first game and how actually alien the inside of the ship felt.
Story
I won't dwell on it too long. First game's story wasn't all that deep but at least it was not over-the-top either. Just semi-realistic military operations and standard radio chatter. The characters were interesting enough, which complimented the game itself in a sensible way. Crysis 2 creates some big conspiracies, artificial conflicts, done to death "plot-twists" and dialogues that might as well have been written by a 10-year-old.
Summary
All in all, this game is a huge waste of time. Yes, it is pretty, but looking at screenshots online is free and just as enjoyable as playing the game itself. I also like that the game is called "Maximum edition" and the store front proudly boasts multiplayer, even though it has been unavailable for over 10 YEARS. It just goes to show how Crytek couldn't give less of a f*ck about their customers, but rest assured the feeling is mutual
