About

Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand introduces an all-new standalone wave defense experience, delivering thrilling, highly-replayable Company of Heroes gameplay. This standalone experience does not require you to own any previous Company of Heroes titles, making it easy for you to jump straight into the action and have fun, whether you’re a longtime fan or a new player.

Prepare to dig in, build layered defenses, and survive against escalating waves of enemy forces across 12 increasingly difficult rounds, including intimidating bosses and dynamic battlefield events unique to Final Stand.

Featuring a roguelite progression system, players construct a custom battlegroup from the ground up suited to their style of play. After each wave, choose between randomized units or abilities that persist for the duration of the run, ensuring that no two playthroughs feel the same.
Persistent upgrades like powerful perks and unique abilities will be unlocked between runs across faction-specific progression trees. These upgrades meaningfully change how each faction plays, encouraging experimentation, long-term mastery, and repeat play at higher levels.

Final Stand captures the classic Company of Heroes feeling of those pivotal moments where when faced with overwhelming odds, preparation, adaptability, and decisive command determine survival.

very bad game not worth the buy
Can see this being a 10$ DLC for COH3 players, and 15$ as standalone. 30$ is absurd for a single game mode, with 4 factions and 5 maps. Little fun game, get it on a big discount.

Garbage. $29.99? Game should be $9.99 and I'd still wait for 50% off. Obvious cash grab by Relic. Didn't even bother to copy/paste over some music from COH to fill the dead air. Very vanilla defense game, shallow. There are so many better games on steam to spend $30 on. There is no story. They put in the least amount of effort possible to create this. The fact this is a "standalone" game is a joke. I own COH3 and after I purchased this, there was literally no download required of this "standalone" game. At best this should have been a DLC for COH3 for $9.99. Even with that I'd happily pay for more story missions in COH3 but that would take more effort.
Here are the cons: -Matchmaking is a joke as it doesn't update the lobbies in real time. -Elitists want SPECIFIC players with GOOD PVP stats or they leave/ kick you from the lobby. -There is significant delay when occupying buildings or certain units as the command to enter will be acknowledged and they will run into said building or unit but their character models will continue to run in the direction of whatever they are trying to occupy for a few seconds until they update and finally show as being inside whatever they were ordered to enter. -The price for this GAME MODE (don't care that it's a standalone) is too high for something that should've been a DLC or an expansion. -If you bought the DLC factions you will not have access to them in this GAME MODE. (I am sticking to calling what this is and refuse to acknowledge it as a standalone title.) -Each match is about 13 waves which is a bit short imo. The few good things: -Persistant Perk System that you can benefit from during a match which boosts unit stats, cooldowns, improved defense offense, etc. -Perk Points is really the only incentive to get Gold Medals (highest award for surviving all waves before opting for Endless Mode.) -All Units have variable stat changes to fit the theme of this GAME MODE like faster repair time, faster build time, more damage to armor, more damage to inf, etc. If this GAME MODE were less than $20 or $15 then I'd say go for it. But if that's too much for you or you already bought all the Faction DLC's for the base game and don't want a simple GAME MODE all on its own for nearly $30 then wait a few months or just give this a HARD PASS. Not sure who at Relic thought making this GAME MODE by itself and not part of the base game was such a good idea other than a quick cash grab.
This has no business being a standalone game. It's boring, repetitive, and without any depth. It would be fine as a cheap DLC for Company of Heroes 3, as a game mode. Overpriced and not at all worth it.
Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand is... okay. I don't have any prior experience with the Company of Heroes franchise, but this caught my attention because I enjoy roguelites and wave defense games. From my perspective, I actually appreciate that this was released as a standalone experience rather than simply being added as another mode to Company of Heroes 3. That said, I find it difficult to justify the price. The overall package feels underwhelming and more like an unfinished game mode than a fully realized standalone title. With only five maps and limited progression, there just isn't much to keep you coming back. The core gameplay is enjoyable, though, and there's definitely a solid foundation here. If the developers continue to add quality-of-life improvements, more content, and expand on the existing systems, Final Stand could become something really worthwhile. For now, it's a fun concept that feels like it needed more time in development before being released.
Quick thoughts. I'd make a CoH3 Wave Survival game with the following features. - No Difficulty Selection (You choose wave strenght, Weak, Strong, Extreme, Impossible.) You get rewarded for surviving the wave depending on your selection. - Building only during Preperation Time (Instant build, Instant upgrade.) - You can start the wave when ready (You do not gain passive income, at the end depending on the wave you get resources) - the card picks are set on first pick. You have to pick a hero type character to start with. Then you will get passive buffs / abilities for that character. After 6 Waves you can choose a new hero and get 6 more upgrades or you can upgrade already chosen hero to become stronger with 6 more upgrades. - Enemies will look at your hero and setup counter tactics (1 hero is more likely to get countered. 2 heroes give you a tactical advantage.) - Make a challenge mode where if u have a lot of something dynamic events will start to even the odds. a lot of bunkers? X bunkers get destroyed by 5 V1 missiles. What they made. - Spawn nodes with a set of troops to spawn. - Attack Waypoint on HQ. - Random unhinged upgrades that seems like they look at what you have in your pool and give an upgrade according to it. - A tiny perk tree which kinda chooses your strategy for you. What did they not do? - Make new models. - Make a better AI. - Make an interesting wave defense DLC. This feels like a fan made mod which someone made over the weekend. Not worth the price.
30 dollars for a mod? This should be (AT MOST) 10 dollars. There are only 5 maps. Its fun, but where is the content for 30 dollars? Also, there is hardly anyone playing it. I do not recommend spending money on this (Unless its on sale) and I have every Company of Heroes game.
Rational review after several matches: Don't mind that they made this stand-alone so players can play it, may enjoy it, and then get the base game. More players = better. Was it silly that they released it without matchmaking? Yeah absolutely. But they have stated they will have that fixed by the end of the week so problem solved. As far as the game itself is concerned you have four factions to choose from and then you proceed to try to survive round after round while the game gives you random cards to choose from (units, passive and active abilities) making each run somewhat unique. I say somewhat because you aren't going to find the expansive list of cards here like Hades or something but it is still quite fun. Sometimes you get awesome cards and have a great run and other times you get not great cards and get rekt (at least for someone of my mid skill level). Each run you get points depending on how well you did but always get rewarded making every run worthwhile. You use said points to pick permanent upgrades for your faction which you can reset whenever and try different things out. Each map has a few (3-5) outposts out beyond your headquarters that you can are valuable to protect and serve as med station, reinforce points. One of the early upgrades in the permanent upgrade tree makes these more and more useful (add mg, and bazooka, add engineer to self-repair, add manpower bonus). The upgrades definitely are worthwhile and I think absolutely needed to survive at the higher difficulty levels which go above elite several times. I have been having fun with it and enjoy roguelite progression. I can see myself coming back to this again and again, especially after multiplayer matches where I got my butt kicked. As far as price I think it should have been $10-$15 for COH3 owners and $20-25 for rest. I'm still glad I got it, though.
