Satisfying gameplay and beautiful scenery. The maps are genuinely fun to explore, with plenty of interesting places to discover and a great atmosphere. The story, however, is complete nonsense. The further you progress, the more the game tries to explain its world and its story, but instead of making things clearer, it creates more contradictions and plot holes. New concepts are constantly introduced without properly explaining how they connect to what you already know, and some explanations seem to contradict things established earlier. By the end, instead of tying everything together, the story leaves you with even more questions. I enjoyed the gameplay and exploration, but the story is an absolute mess.

I honestly had second thoughts about pre-ordering this game. The incorrect system requirements listed before launch and the fact that it's an Unreal Engine 5 title made me worry about performance. After finally playing it, I'm happy to say those concerns were gone almost immediately. At least on my system, the game is surprisingly well optimized, and that made a great first impression. What really kept me playing, though, was everything else. The combat is fun and satisfying, the soundtrack is fantastic, and I absolutely love the chemistry between Emma and Koo. I've only played for a few hours, so it's still too early for me to judge the story, but I already know this is a game I'll be sticking with until the end. My only real complaint is the subtitle size. They're simply too small, and I really hope the developers add an option to increase them in a future update. Other than that, I'm genuinely having a great time with this game.
As a big fan of the the Nier series and Stellar Blade, this game is proving to be a good hold over until we get more from those franchises. The world lore has me intrigued so far, gameplay with the companion dog is good, exploring around this open areas has been enjoyable, and PC port has been running great on my end. Seems Game Freak is heading in a better creative direction with this title. If they take the feedback they're getting, I can see promise for similar games like this from Game Freak in the future.

A good game, despite its flaws. You’ve seen a lot of it before or played similar titles, but overall it’s a good game that can easily provide 20–30 hours of fun if you really get into it.
So far I'm loving the game and the story. I'm glad Gamefreak is finally free from the Pokémon chains because this game looks great and shows just how much potential this company has. Im looking forward to more titles in the future.
