Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5/day in the week to Aug 4 → 13/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Welcome to the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger.
Set in the fictional world of Eora that was first introduced to players in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG from the award-winning team at Obsidian Entertainment.
The Living Lands is an island where the air hums with ancient magic, the flora seems to move with a mind of its own, and the ground beneath your feet shifts with secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Now, the Living Lands faces a dire threat—a mysterious plague that defies nature and reason, spreading chaos across its sprawling wilderness.
As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate, but what begins as a mission of duty soon becomes deeply personal—you feel as though the land recognizes you and is pulling you toward something greater. The choices you make will ripple across the Living Lands, shaping the fates of its people, its creatures, and even yourself. But beware, for every decision carries weight, and the forces you encounter will not hesitate to test your resolve.
Can you navigate the tangled web of intrigue, power, and danger to uncover the truth? Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?
Even more to do in the game! This update brings New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, a brand new weapon type with two-handed staves, the ability to change character appearance whenever you’d like, new character creation presets, additional Godlike presets, custom game difficulty settings, and the addition of three new playable races: Dwarf, Aumaua, and Orlan.
The Living Lands is a place that feels foreign yet somewhat intrinsic to you as it feels the island itself is calling out to you for help. Explore an island home to many different environments and landscapes, each with their own unique ecosystem.
Mix and match swords, spells, guns, and shields to fight your way. Dig into your grimoire for spells to trap, freeze or burn enemies, bash them with your shield, or use range bows to attack from a distance.
Companions from a spread of species will fight alongside you, with their own unique set of abilities. From a former mercenary to an eccentric wizard, they will be part of your journey with your choices shaping them as you help them with their quests.

This is an action RPG. Action first, RPG second. That's important to remember, as Pillars of Eternity was the opposite, so friction with the fanbase was inevitable. With Avowed, Obsidian has created a fantastic world (Ryngrim's Domain—whoa!), it's just a shame it's all so shallow. So what do I mean? First, the game is painfully formulaic. That'll make gamers feel at home, but anyone expecting more than a combat-heavy loot'a'thon will be left disappointed. There's 'stuff' everywhere, like a swarm of drunken, amnesia-stricken pirates swarmed the island at some point. But that's just it, it's 'stuff', mostly crafting materials. Item upgrades are linear, and unique items are not really unique at all, barely offering a smattering of small stat changes or even something as simple as elemental damage. Abilities are similar, not following class or actual build orders, but instead leaving it all wide open. That's fine for freedom and flexibility, but instead of fostering unique and compelling builds, it dumbs everything down so that all playstyles end up being a very simple, samey numbers game. Combat itself is decently done and fun enough, but it's nothing anyone hasn't seen before. The problems arise with everything around it. The AI is dumb as rocks, with enemies spamming the same few attacks and companions acting so slow it's like they're stuck in ice. Waves of enemies magically popping out of the floor is exhausting, and it's frustrating when something that didn't exist a moment ago is sniping for heavy damage all of a sudden. Bosses are boring hit point sponges with nothing unique about them, and there isn't anything interesting to fight—no dragons, giant statues, liches, etc. In fact, the enemy variety across the game is paper-thin; it doesn't matter if it's human, undead, or even xaurip, they all act the same. Now let's talk about what should be the best part: the writing. It's bad. At least 50% of all dialogue is filler nonsense: "Hey, you're guy!" "Yes, I am guy." "Cool, I'll open the gate, but watch out for other guy!" "Hey, you were dreaming. Talking to guy?" "Yes, I talked to guy, but human concepts are complex." "Great! Let's go to the next place so you can talk to guy some more." "I am sad, guy, I question my life decisions." "Don't be sad, other guy, you're great, and we can do this together!" "Thanks, guy!" MMORPGs have better writing... It takes about halfway through the game for the plot to pick up. Before that, it's just a meandering, confusing muddle of vague events and boring kill/fetch quests. The 'good guys' act comically bad, then almost immediately switch to somehow being good again, then everyone starts to act good and bad simultaneously. It's a confusing, ham-fisted approach to storytelling, and it just doesn't work. The main plot point around the Living Lands is OK at best, but it's nowhere near the level of the previous games in Eora. There are a couple of bright spots here and there, and a couple of major decisions to make, but they're once again ham-fisted and don't offer much flexibility for how important they are. Briefly mentioning the companions, there are only four, and they're mind-numbingly boring. With very simple, sob-story backgrounds and no depth to their dialogue, opinions, or any way to meaningfully connect with them, they just go with the flow and blend into whatever you want to do. One more, often overlooked thing I'll mention is that the soundtrack in Avowed is as dull and forgettable as the writing. Both Pillars games have unforgettably unique scores, and here I'm struggling to remember anything at all. All of this smacks of the same problems plaguing Dragon Age and even Starfield, and it's a real shame to see what's happening to our beloved game studios. The world of Eora deserves better, and I just don't think Obsidian is up to the task anymore.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This game allows you to respec whenenever you want for a nominal amount of money. So if you find some cool unique weapon and want to make a build around it, you absolutely can! I wish more titles gave you that flexibility.
bon jeu dans la lignée des jeux obsidian
I genuinely love the combat it is very satisfying, I just like hitting a small creature with a massive hammer that sends them flying across the combat area. Although the story is very lackluster and kind of boring, the only companion I truly liked was Marius. The magic options aren't very viable early game as I was intially going to play a magic build but ended up in a heavy armor two handed weapon build. All in all the game is alright for $30 dollars but I would not pay for full price.
I don't know what people expected but this is not Skyrim, it's a different type of RPG and does everything it wants to do pretty well. Combat - 10/10 Story - 7/10 Exploration - 9/10
I really enjoyed Avowed for what it is. No, it is not truly a competitor to The Elder Scrolls, but it is a very fun fantasy adventure game. The writing isn't the greatest, but the exploration and the combat was what really pulled me into this game. I also enjoyed the companions and their stories, you just have to let them grow on you at first. And the story gets better the more you play. Going back to combat, you are able to unlock tons of cool abilities so that you can customize your way of playing to your preference. It is probably best to try to be a little focused in how you go about it. Experiment with different weapons and luckily you can always reset your abilities points for some gold. Now, what I would like to see in another game like this is a bigger, more detailed world. I would like to see more uses for the money you get during the game such as buying a house or being able to customize more things in your camp. I really liked the environments in this game. At many times I was caught by surprise at how vibrant the bioluminescent fungi appeared as it clung to the various ruins you explore throughout the game. Do yourself a favor and allow yourself to experience the Living Lands at night. It is really nice to look at.
