O Ara Ketu, o Ara Ketu quando toca Deixa todo mundo pulando que nem pipoca
I've always wanted a Civ/Settlers 2 hybrid and Ara tries to be that... I'm just about to get to the 2nd act and so far MM level is tolerable. I feel like if I didn't try to minmax it would be even more tolerable. I am not sure if it will scale though, I see lots more good types coming up. Looks like they've gone out of their way to reduce MM and add screens to manage all craft buildings in one place, etc. We'll see. Regardless, really good effort at Settlers + Civ so far. Possible MM reduction improvements: I think for complex crafters like workshops they could just have a setting like in Settlers 2 where you say "40% gold, 40% coal, 20% iron" or whatever, and it would pick the next good randomly. Or maybe even "match production to consumption" in aggregate, it's kind of a pain "oh I'm out of baskets now, ok finish this tool and make 5 more baskets then back to tools". Also, related, when city bonuses expire due to lack of good there's no notification.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Alas, the AI is just broken. Every faction, no matter its theme, will demand tribute or just declare war on you and settle next to you (like very f*cking one of these games). They are all the same. Outside of a unique unit, this makes all factions the exact same. This was happening on the easiest difficulty btw, people often test on the most difficult setting, however easiest of ten a good way to test things, as it will quickly reveal if anything is broken, this shouldn't happen on the easiest setting. I initially had a positive review of this despite its shortcomings but its been some time and they have not fixed this issue, so I cannot recommend this game any more. Good visual style and some good ideas, but they are simply not fleshed out. The game also repeats the mistakes of other 4x games; 1 civ = 1 unique unit. Cmon, its time to move past this, there are so many unique traits, units and buildings you could give each historical nation. Would this imbalance some nations? Yes but that is where unique gameplay and customisation comes in. The game will also, ALWAYS place AI next near you. I tested just to be sure, I created a four corners map, large, with ONE other nation. The game placed us almost next to eachother every time. Why? What if I want to just build? Terrible. If they improve some of these glaring issues I will change my review, but I sense they will abandon this game given how slow updates are. What the game needs imo; More unique environments, and unique points of interest to explore, natural wonders and resources that effect your civ. Far more unique traits, not just passive but abilities to activate and build upon. Unique building, unique to your specific civ but some you can unlock or even trade (steal or conquer). Unique units, not just one per civ. End game research and influences purchases need to be better. End game research just grants Prestige. By end game this is redundant. Options for cash influx, production boost, military buffs for specific units/armies, unique buildings/units etc. Go crazy Paragon become pointless once all the ''masterpiece'' creations are found. They need to do more. Assign them as a mayor of a city or something. A spy to steal. Anything. Fix the AI settling next to you! Fix the ''alliance running out'' thing. Has potential but they really need to work on this. I want to give this a good review but it is held back.
특히 한국문명도 있어서 재미있게 하기 좋습니다. 문명이 다양해서 인상적입니다.
Všechno zbytečně složité a nezáživné...
A me sembra di giocare a victoria 3, ambientato nella storia umana.
Juego divertido que ha ido mejorando con el tiempo. Sus des arrolladores se están tomando el tiempo de ir puliendo cada vez mas.
Super.
Ara: History Untold puts the "grand" in grand strategy, pushing the boundaries of the 4X genre with complex and far-reaching new management mechanics that allow for precise control over the player's regions, down to the smallest buildings and the goods they may be tasked to produce. Although on the surface it shares similarities with games such as Civilization, Ara blends other genres such as city management to form a truly unique experience that feels bigger than ever before. Simultaneous turns keep players on their toes, whilst the elimination round at the end of each age prevents predictable outcomes and forces the game to evolve over time. And with a vast selection of leaders and nations to choose from, Ara excels in capturing the epic scale of the world and its history, from the tiniest details of wildlife and villagers going about their daily lives, to continent-spanning empires at war. If this appeals to you, give this game a try!
Apparently they finally added good enough options to not need mods for basic custom games. Not sure if mods work on multiplayer still though.
