Reviews
Great story, visuals, and world-building - a huge improvement from AMFP.
While I believe that the game is good, it is also the weakest entry in the series thus far. Most of the locations do not hold candle compared to the Brennenburg Castle, and the story does not reach the heights the previous titles. Also, the heroine yaps way too much. Still, the locations are varied and nice to look at, encounters can are tense, the voice acting is still really good and the callbacks to the original were nice. So overall, it’s alright.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

First playthrough review time. Amnesia: Rebirth is different from the older games because it focuses more on the story than constant scares. The locations change a lot, from dark indoor areas to open outdoor spaces, but the overall atmosphere stays gloomy. The voice acting is clear and helps tell the story. There are puzzles to solve, and exploring the world gives extra details. Player choices near the end can change how the story finishes, which encourages trying it again. The story can be confusing and hard to follow at times, with many ideas introduced but not explained well. Long sections have no real danger, so it doesn’t feel tense most of the time. When threats do appear, the game is easy and rarely punishes mistakes. Some mechanics repeat too often and lose their effect. Cut-scenes also happen a lot and take control away from the player, which can interrupt the game. Overall, Amnesia: Rebirth works better as a story-driven game than as a scary one. The atmosphere and voice acting are strong, and the puzzles give some challenge. But it is not as scary as the older games like Dark Descent or SOMA, and danger doesn’t feel very real. It is a fine game to play for the story, but it does not reach the same level as the earlier titles.
so underrated, and I'll never understand why.
Incredible game with a fantastic ending. While it has its weak points it's overall a great experience that I would recommend to any horror fan.
