I love this game. Controls are sharp and responsive, and movement tech is so satisfying. Aesthetically the game is really nice and the tone is charming. Music is overall not my thing here, but the loud energy it gives still adds to the game's charm. The difficulty is on point. Sometimes collectathons feel boring in the collecting aspect, especially when the playable character can sometimes feel sluggish, but Yellow Taxi is fast and snappy, collecting things is satisfying, especially when you try to reach some nonsense areas by either in the intentional way, or by screwing around just the way you want. It's so much fun! Only negative I really have is, is that when you dash against slopes, no matter in what angle you are, it's kinda random if it makes you go super high, far, high and far, or crash into the slope where you just lose all the speed and height. Good thing the movement otherwise allows me to fix the fumble quickly by quickly try again, reorient, and/or just keep going anyway despite a bad slope dash. I got this game in 2024 but finally came around to play it just few days ago. Definitely one of my 2026 highlights.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Jul 25 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Una mezcla de Mario 64 con Crazy Taxi y muchas fumadas.
This was a fantastic, innovative game. The controls were tight and limited but manages to make them incredibly versatile and fun. The game is fast paced, fun, looks nice, has humour, and just a genuinely fun, high energy time. Here is my overview:
Overview
Graphics - 8.5/10, sometimes jank, but very pretty and high energy. The golden spring and gears are beauties! Gameplay - 9/10, it really forces you to learn its controls, but its not so bad and very fun to use. I do wish the Flip O' Will and air carried over momentum more. Audio - 10/10, the music is so high quality, the tracks are fun, and Mega Ran's Driving Me Crazy is fcking lit. The audio for movement and environment is equally very well made. PC Requirements - 10/10, easy to run, and even on my 1080p GPU, it ran 1440p at 120fps. Difficulty - 9/10, I will admit, it can be hard for a beginner, but due to its addicting controls, you start to learn the rhyme and rhythem of the game. Be prepared for sharp turns and tall heights! Grind - There is a bit of grind for the hats and bunnies, but 99% of the gears were not too hard to get. You can even get certain gears early with skill! Story - 7.5/10, it has a decent story, the nods to other franchises is gold, but I will admit the ending was a bit odd. However, it was still very enjoyable. Worth it? - Yes! Waiting for a sale makes sense of course, as I do it for everything I buy, but the game is worth the money!
Overall - 9.5/10!
a thing that has happened to me a few times is: i play a well-received indie 3d platformer praised for its movement, i find that the movement is so strong that i don't actually have to engage with the level design, my experience with the game is boring because i end up doing basically the same few things in response to any obstacle. the armchair game designer in me has thought about this a lot, about why these games that work so well for some flop for me and what it is about them specifically that disappoints me. to me, YTGV is sort of a counterpoint to those games, a game that's restrained in the ways i find those excessive and that's good in the areas i think those are bad. your movement options are pretty limited, precise movement can be difficult even at a high level, and your best way of gaining height is to boost off a ramp. but it's those limitations that make playing it fun and rewarding. if you can effortlessly speed past enemies or jump over a barrier to another part of a level, and you keep doing it again and again, it eventually stops being fun, like you're getting away with something, and starts being just another thing you do. but if getting up a small ledge takes several steps even late in the game, and you figure out how to do it in one, that feels more like an accomplishment. this isn't to say that YTGV feels stiff or limited when you play it. once you know what you're doing, you can fly through levels. but the limitations of your movement still define what you can do: even if you can fly, you need a ramp to get in the air. this means there wasn't a point in my time playing it where i became so good i could stop thinking about the level. i still have to consider how to get airborne (in case it wasn't clear, the stuff about flying and needing a ramp was literal) and where to land to get in the air again. and if i can only land on a flat surface, or if the ramp at my destination isn't steep enough to get where i want to go, i have to see if there's some other way i can gain height, or find another spot to jump from. your reward for being good isn't that you stop engaging with the level design, it's that you engage with it in a different way, which i feel is the ideal. the fun in a platformer isn't just in your movement, but in how that movement interacts with the level. a platformer that does have stiff and limited movement can still be fun with varied, creative, and challenging level design, but schmovement alone won't help much if i'm schmoving the same way every time. anyways. armchair game design thoughts aside: it's a solid game. fun and rewarding movement as i've described, art is vibrant and full of personality, music is good and helps set the energy, humor is a bit hit and miss but the misses usually go by blissfully quickly. big recommendation from me
An addictive 3D platformer. This game's style is so in-your-face and bold you kinda have to respect it. The closest comparison I could make to this game would be Banjo-Kazooie on steroids; it's a high speed collectathon with essentially zero downtime and no dull moments. Some of the humor doesn't land, and dates the game quite a bit, but respect the references made regardless. There's quite a bit of funny situations, dialogues, and environments to play through in each of the game's levels, but the gameplay and platforming trumps everything else here. Racing around each level and parkouring to each gear is so satisfying. The game could describe some of the mechanics a bit more explicitly: the game gets so much more satisfying once you understand the entirety of the controls and mechanical quirks (which aren't spelled out the best, I'd highly recommend looking up boost tips/guides online). But once you get the boost timing down, the completion grind is a joy to go through. And this game has a lot of content to go through. So many levels with so much to do, and an adoring retro style to gawk at throughout each hour of playtime. Great game... 10/10
Very fun solid platformer with somewhat nonstandard controls.
Short and sweet!
