Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts

About
Join the fight and command your worm warriors into battle in the iconic 2D arcade artillery shooter where serious strategy and silly weaponry decide who swims or sinks.
Unleash tactical, turn-based total chaos in gloriously hand-drawn artillery battlegrounds. Arm your invertebrate platoons with a massive arsenal, command heavy machinery, and use the landscape to your advantage. Outsmart your rivals, blow enormous holes in their plans — and preferably the ground beneath them — to blast them off the map and be the last worms standing.
Ready your Holy Hand Grenade, round up the Super Sheep and prepare to drop the Concrete Donkey. Blast your way through 30 campaign levels with over 80 weapons & utilities at your fingertips. Take the high ground, tunnel to safety, set the perfect trap — or forget the plan entirely and reach for the explosives.
Worms W.M.D comes locked, loaded and stuffed with ways to wage war. Hone your skills in Training Missions, take on the Campaign and tackle Challenges solo. Train up then head online to wreak havoc in multiplayer modes and take on up to five opponents in hilarious all-out tactical combat in local, online or ranked play.
Form alliances. Break alliances. Accidentally bazooka yourself into the sea. Whatever happens, make sure your worms are the last ones standing.
Worms, War, and Wackiness
The worms are back in their most destructive game yet. With a gorgeous, hand-drawn 2D look, brand new weapons, the introduction of crafting, vehicles and buildings plus the return of some much-loved classic weapons and gameplay, Worms W.M.D is the best worms experience ever.
Story
Basically no story in this game, except a war between worms. A parody of war, conflict and military strategy.
Gameplay
Worms W.M.D is a 2D turn-based artillery game that returns the series to the classic style of Worms Armageddon, featuring traditional 2D gameplay while removing mechanics such as classes, water physics, and dynamic objects from earlier entries. The game introduces several new features, including a crafting system that allows you to collect resources from crates or dismantled weapons to create new weapons and utilities, even outside of their turns. New equipment, such as fiery bazookas and unstable phone batteries, appears alongside returning classics like the Holy Hand Grenade. Buildings from Worms Forts: Under Siege also return, letting worms take cover or launch surprise attacks from inside structures. For the first time in the series, you can control vehicles and mounted turrets. Tanks, helicopters, and mechs can be used to devastate enemies, while machine guns, mortars, flamethrowers, and sniper turrets provide additional firepower. Both vehicles and turrets can be damaged and destroyed during battle. As in previous Worms games, you command customizable teams, with options to personalize names, outfits, fortresses, speechbanks, victory dances, gravestones, and fanfares.
Enemies
Your greatest enemies are opposing worms, rising water, explosive barrels, and sometimes your own terrible aim and decision making.
Environment
Matches take place on 2D maps that are either randomly generated or custom-made, with fully destructible terrain that can be reshaped throughout the battle. Explosions can carve craters into the landscape, destroy sections of the map, or blast worms across the battlefield. Many maps also contain pre-placed mines and explosive barrels that can be used strategically. The environment itself plays a major role in combat. Worms that fall into water are instantly eliminated, while mines and barrels detonate when triggered, often creating unpredictable chain reactions. If a match lasts too long, the Sudden Death mechanic activates, causing the water level to rise every turn and reducing all worms to just 1 HP, forcing you to act quickly and aggressively. Buildings are a new feature in W.M.D, allowing worms to hide and collect valuable crafting supplies.
Visual Design & Sound Design
The game is colorful and cartoonish. Despite the violence, there’s no blood or gore, keeping the game family-friendly. Just some cute worms at war! The game features over a dozen visual styles, each giving maps a distinctive look. While these themes are purely cosmetic and don’t affect gameplay or physics, they enhance the atmosphere and mood, and can be customized to your liking. The UI and menus are clear, simple and easy to navigate. Weapon icons are cartoonish, making them easy to recognize. One of the game’s most beloved features is the voices of the worms. They are full of humor, puns, and goofy one-liners. Menus and voiceovers often parody war films and action movies. Worms speak in high-pitched and exaggerated voices. Each weapon has distinct and satisfying sounds, enhancing the cartoonish impact, like the Holy Hand Grenade that plays a choir singing “Hallelujah!” before an enormous explosion. Or a satisfying plop is heard when a worm falls into water and drowns. I love it. LOVE IT.
Constructive Criticism
Not much to say here. The campaign missions are okay, but the AI often feels either too dumb or too precise, leading to inconsistent difficulty.
The Verdict
Worms W.M.D is the perfect game if you want to wreak havoc with and against some friends. The gameplay is simple but fun, though it requires practice and patience to master, especially when it comes to positioning. Aiming and planning can be frustrating because of the stress of the time pressure, but that is what creates the most fun outcomes as well. The addition of enterable buildings and vehicles adds another layer of strategy and crazy destruction. The environments are varied and distinct, and no match ever feels the same as the previous one. The hand-drawn visuals are colorful, clean, and full of personality. The sound design is one of the funniest parts of the game with the worms speaking and screaming while destroying each other. Overall, this is one of the most entertaining Worms games in the series. I highly recommend it if you want a fun and relaxing game to play with your friends!
Rating: 9/10
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 12: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This series has always been a personal favorite. With every iteration of this game, Team 17 continues to improve and polish. Some hit-and-misses with their spin-offs however. Worms WMD is my first entry back since Worms Reloaded... but Armageddon, Reloaded, and WMD are all great games and especially fun multiplayer.
