looks like a cool and fun game but a bad port as game doesn't want to start, squeenix fix your PC ports

World of FF is Final Fantasy meets Pokemon, where you play as a set of twins, going out to capture all the recognizable monsters from the FF games to create a team and be the very best while also befriending numerous classic Final Fantasy characters. The game is simplicity done well. The stacking mechanics where monsters comes in 3 sizes and the player stack them on top of each other to gain access to different skills and stats is great. Shame that the game is too easy to the point where you can just brainlessly attack everything to death while healing every once in a while. What stands out is the artsyle. The characters are done well. The monsters are cute. The world, though simple and derivative of other FF games are wonderful realized. So why the not recommend? Well. The game doesn't work. It crashes on start up from steam and you will have to go into the local folder and run the game as administrator every time to get it to work (at least on my end). And it's been ages since the game released and this have not been fixed, so you really cannot forgive a lazy port that crashes like this.

would love to recommend, but considering you have to physically go in the files so the game can even start, not a great PC release.

played this game before not on PC. STAY AWAY from this game. its a decent FF game but there's an issue between Square and Steam. the game doesn't load or run UNLESS you do a work around navigating its files to launch there instead of the steam application. That's horrible control from 2 titans and neither feels like they care to fix. i recommend emulator or finding a PS4 copy to hit them where it matters to make them change. letting them get away with one problem only says we don't care about other problems they may have later.

i can't play the game, "no save data", "an error has occured"

I'm giving this game a thumbs down mostly because of the technical issues the game has, but here's a full list my gripes with the game. I will say, this is a very objective list of reasons. Nothing here is actually breaking the game in a way you can't fix or work around, but they do add levels of frustration and/or annoyance that keep me from recommending it. - The game will almost assuredly crash for you as soon as you attempt to start the game if you do not go to the games file location and set both "WOFF.exe" and "WOFF_config.exe" to run as an administrator in the compatibility settings. - WOFF_config is your only way to adjust the games graphic settings. You can not adjust the graphics in game at all despite a popup saying you can after you start it. - Sound is a joke. The sliders do effect it, it's not that they don't work, the games volume is just ridiculously low for no reason. So when you close it you need to make sure to lower your volume or you're gonna either blast your ear drums out or disturb the neighborhood peace. - Do you like tutorials? I hope you do! Square Enix thinks you do! There are so many tutorials in the beginning of this game and they're not limited to popping up text windows. You get full cutscenes of over explanations on how to do ♥♥♥♥. - Do you like hearing "jokes" made literally every cutscene? Well, how about two jokes? How about three? I'm sure it's worse than this, I just haven't counted. It's overbearing how much they tried to inject humor with one liners or just making the characters stupid... that's not me making an insult, it's intentional and pointed out in the game. - Do you like really the-weird/annoying ways of the-speaking? The-all the time I mean. I dunno who the-thought this was a good idea. (If you haven't played it. That's how this character speaks. It doesn't make sense, it's not cute, it's just irritating when they open their mouth. Plus they sound like Paimon from Genshin.) - The control scheme they want you to use just forces you to use the classic one as well. They wanted this to feel more punchy so they give you shortcuts. But you're literally just better off using the menu because you lose out on tons of abilities and actual functionality like items without using a command to change the menu mid-fight. The one thing I really do like about this game is in the twins room. They got 1 semi-large bed. lol. Listen, jokes aside. I really do think that shows a level of thought put into the overall game. They couldn't even bother to give A BROTHER AND SISTER, two separate beds and it is THEIR room, not one or the other. There is a couch, but bro, you're gonna tell me one of them permanently sleeps on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥' couch? A quote from one of the god-like characters in the game herself: (and this game does do 4th wall breaks btw) "You needn't wonder about every little thing. The world has some secrets you're simply better off not knowing." With that bit of knowledge, you can say I'm reaching, you can say I'm a disgusting pervert who just wants it to be true... but you can't say the dots don't make a line. No wonder their parents decided to leave them.
