I played this game on ps4 and loved it. I hesitated buying it for a long time on steam because it says it doesn't work on steam deck. I just bought it today to try it out. I got it to work. I had to go to desktop mode and start the game there. It's very easy to get it to work. Start the game in desktop mode, change the graphics settings to borderless full screen. I had to start a new game to change the settings. I don't know if you need to get to a save point or not, but that's what I did. After saving my game, I returned to gaming mode and it worked. That's it. Enjoy playing on your steam deck.

This is one of those games where you don't take played time into account. The game has a system where it encourages you to leave it running afk, so that the digimon you're training in your farms receive experience you don't need to do that later on, but when you're just starting, it helps quite a bit; the downside is that you see inflated numbers like mine. Right. On to my review: The good: + Nice variety for digimon; + Nice cinematics (anime art style); + Two games in one (IMPORTANT NOTE: THESE ARE TWO SEPARATE GAMES IN ONE, TREAT THEM AS SUCH. I played one after the other and got a bit burned out); + Cool skill animations; + Super stable game, did not crash even once; + Very nice for a Creature Colector JRPG, way better than a lot of the Pokemon games, especially the new ones; + Great Digimon universe feel; The bad: - VERY slow start; - Translation sucks. Not everything, but enough to make you go: "Wtf? People don't speak that way!"; - Not a lot of environment variety; - Some quests seem to be in the game just to add gameplay time, they don't make sense and they don't really build anything in the world; - At some point I just turned off the music, and started listening to music on my PC while playing. (NOTE: If you do that, you won't hear sound in cinematics); - Weird exit method (You'll think I'm retarded, but I was roughly 400 hours in or more when I realised there is a specific button for exiting. The button is not Esc);

PROS - Huge roster of Digimon with an excellent evolution system. - Fun and strategic turn-based combat. - Engaging story with memorable characters. - Tons of content thanks to the Complete Edition. - Highly rewarding team-building and customization. CONS - Dungeon environments become visually repetitive. - Grinding is sometimes required to unlock certain Digimon. - Story pacing can be slow in certain chapters. - Side quests occasionally feel repetitive. VERDICT Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition is one of the best Digimon games ever made and an excellent monster-collecting RPG in its own right. Its deep evolution system, enjoyable combat, and compelling story make it an easy recommendation for both Digimon fans and anyone looking for a lengthy, rewarding turn-based adventure. 8.5/10

The battles are fun, and I love how many digimon there are, but I'll be real with you, its a lot of running back and forth through the same like 10 hallways and mashing through long-winded dialog. Its not a bad game and my experience is overall positive, but I can't in good faith recommend it. Maybe if you don't care about the game-play or story and just wanna see your cool 'mons beat each other up. But even then, I would go for Time Stranger over this game. ( Bonus, I thought it was hilarious the game assumes you play as a male player and accidentally makes this a yuri adventure if you choose the female protag. )
