Never played any Warhammer game so I can`t say anything for the lore. But I'm absolutely in love with the pixel art graphics. And the fight dynamic is super fun, both the melee and the guns. It could be a solid 9/10 COULD... On the down side, the level design is quite repetitive, you can divide 90% of them in 2: * Exploration: linear map without much to explore switching between almost no enemies to an unexplicable amount of enemies. with some eventual (very frequent) find-the-key; * Horde: Circular map with enemies raining on you, an eventual boss fight at the same time as well. And some other novelty maps (like the Warp labyrinth) Overall, still a very fun game. Just don't play too much at once. On an unrelated note, but a COOP option on Horde Mode would be just awesome. It could even be LAN
I am not a Warhammer 40K fan so I do not know anything about the lore. I got Boltgun just for the boomer shooter aspect only and I can state with confidence Boltgun is a plainly awful first person shooter. Uninteresting maps to fight through, those levels are linear unremarkable and lame. They don't foster any feeling of exploration. Finding secrets is not rewarding as most of them really are not hidden they're just lying around in plain sight which is lazy. Weapons are all kind of dumb to be honest and none of them feel particularly solid. They get the job done and that is about it. No matter what difficulty setting you choose the combat is too easy. Background music is so corny I shut that off completely in the first twenty seconds of launching this mess. Probably one of the worst aspects of this gaming dumpster fire and a huge distraction is the floating Captain Obvious that follows you around everywhere. I sure wish there was an option to shut that damn thing down. Bottom line Boltgun is another genuine gaming loser.

O jogo é muito bom e realmente faz você se sentir como uma geladeira Electrolux que só passa por cima de todo mundo. As vezes fica um pouco repetitivo, mas eu não achei o jogo tão difícil como vi em algumas outras análises.

Este es i primer Warhammer, y he de decir que apesar que tenga una escencia muy similar a Doom, tiene una identidad unica y sin igual, quizas no hay mucho contexto, pero es un gran juego el cual es desafiante y entretenido el cual es una gran opcion por si quieres algo clasico pero a su misma vez, muy actual pd: ansioso por la segunda parte de este juego!!!
100% what a boomer shooter should be. Fast, brutal, fun. It's well worth your time and money.
