Magicka is a satirical action-adventure game set in a rich fantasy world based on Norse mythology. The player assumes the role of a wizard from a sacred order tasked with stopping an evil sorcerer who has thrown the world into turmoil, his foul creations besieging the forces of good.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 14 → 3.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Legendary game of my childhood ruined by negligence. It crashes so often it's almost unplayable. Please patch this nonsense
4/10
I would have recommended this game but it crashes so frequently on modern pcs I can't recommend it. There are some fixes that you can apply that do not work 100% for your hardware. This game was so fun I wish it didn't crash so constantly.

FIX your game, don't just take money please - as of 07/03/2026 the game is broken to play online, like you legit can't it crashes every few seconds. ARROWHEAD FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game used to work and was really fun. I tried to replay it today and it crashed on me every few minutes. The other bad reviews aren't exaggerating. The game is borderline unplayable in its current state.
Tbh, it's unacceptable that Steams offers this game on the Store. The game crashes every 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay consistently. I tried it with a controller, without one, skipping cutscenes, changing settings, etc. There's not even a clear "when you do this, you crash" concept. The game crashes on the most random moments. It crashed on the main menu, it crashed during the opening cutscene, it crashed after completing a level and during the completion of a level. At the end, I discovered that the community had taken upon themselves to release "fixes" for these crashes. That's absolutely amazing on the side of the community (they're gold) and horrible on the side of Steam. This is a game you are selling. It can be bad, people can dislike it, but it MUST work. You're opening yourself to litigation because you're selling a lie. For anyone looking to nostalgia a bit, I don't recommend support the devs and buying this. The devs don't care. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME.
Crashes constantly, basically unplayable. The original version 10 years ago wasn't the most stable piece of software, but usually you could actually play it for the most part. But at some point, some update broke everything. Don't buy this.
Unplayable sadly. The game is very fun, the mechanics unusual and the art style charming. But it literally crashed every 5 mins. Please fix this mess, I used to love this game. What happened :(
Really fun classic. Note: The game suffed an update that introduced frequenct crashes. Check pcgamingwiki's page on Magicka for a fan patch that fixes this.
Game good, very crashy in the current patch, go to the "MAGICKA CAMP" discord server to get 1.5 version that runs smoothe.
Crashes when trying to load into a game. I wanted to see if I still hated this game, as I originally hated its keyboard and mouse controls when I played it around a decade ago, but I figured I'd try it with a controller. It seems they're selling a game that most people can't get to even function, and that includes me. Valve needs to start actually removing nonfunctional games from the Steam store, to force the developers to actually make sure the product they're selling is something that actually functions, otherwise they're scamming people. Testing needs to be done in a way that shows the full game is functional, not just launching it. The game will launch and seem to function fine, but as soon as I then try loading into a game after creating a file, or even trying to load that file after relaunching the game from a crash, the game will have a few seconds where it freezes, then immediately crashes to the desktop. This sort of garbage behavior, the selling- oh, I'm sorry, the "licensing" of faulty software needs to be outlawed, and I'm tired of there being games that fail to function while being sold. This is the digital equivalent of someone knowingly selling spoiled meat and getting away with it. If Valve had any actual morals, which of course they don't when you consider the gambling issues they and Gabe get a huge profit from, they'd remove this game and others from the Steam store, or they'd outright require them to be fixed and functional. Such utter hypocrisy it is to say that piracy is a result of poor service, only to then turn and offer a poor service. Just proves that Gabe's a grifter, and the developers of this game are a direct part of the problem; they're the rot in the system.
