In the grim dark future there is only... sick pseudo retro shooters. Whips ass. 10/10.
I am notoriously bad at games, and a bit of a baby, but I bought this because it looked fun and my friends recommended it. I really enjoy this game and it's very easy to play even for someone who never/rarely touches a gun in games. The difficulty is definitely balanced well for beginners with lots of supplies laying around which I really appreciate. Very enjoyable experience killing everything in sight and not ending up being too frightened or overwhelmed :)

overall pretty good but you can find better games of the similar genre (ion fury or doom eternal for example)

Really, really enjoyable game. All of the controls work as expected - no nonsense with configuration settings, the audio, gameplay and video settings are all straightforward and work perfectly on my 12 year old machine under the Medium set. Interfaces are nice and chunky, easy to read. The gameplay on Hard is challenging but fun. Great that pathways to arenas are not locked once you enter a combat zone so you can move about freely. Means less time replaying challenges if you can run away and regroup a bit. The only one thing i could gripe about is that skull tit whose head is on fire that keeps popping up randomly. Doesn't do anything and the second there's a firefight he's gone. For six bucks, worth every penny.

Just beat the main game for the first time on Exterminatus difficulty. It was really good! 8/10 game right here. Pros: It does what it does really well. Enemies are just varied enough to keep you on your toes and provide a good challenge. While the weapons aren't super novel, they are finely tuned to enjoyment (letting the heavy bolter bark as you're walking down chaos marines is very satisfying). If you want many levels of beefy rampage that just feels great to play then you will get your wish. I love that this kind of simple, high-quality game experience that respects your time and skill is available in the era of microtransaction-riddled, casual, live-service slop. I never once felt it was insulting my intelligence which is a big ask in 2026. It's clear a lot of passion went into this game. Cons: Nothing too serious but here are my nit-picky gripes: The final encounter was a bit anti-climactic. While some levels are very interesting (the rail transit and forge levels were particularly neat), many of them feel copy and paste. It's hard to avoid that in this kind of game, but it is a factor. The shotgun feels oddly anemic for a boomer shooter where boomsticks are king. Rarely, but often enough, the game will autosave right when you're about to get your shi blown smoov off leading to death loops. There's never a time when I felt I was going to run out of ammo for even half my guns. The game is very generous with ammo placements which leads to a more arcade vibe but on the hardest difficulty I shouldn't feel like I'm drowning in ammo. My final gripe is there's an oddly small number of save slots. I have 12 TB of storage here why am I limited to so few save slots? That's about it. Would recommend.
