From the ex-Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive team comes a janky love letter to PS2-era action. Play a week in the life of the Zombie Unit: an elite Hong Kong police squad carving through a corporate conspiracy in a storm of swordplay and gunfire. Stylish, brutal, and absolutely not for everyone.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
A cult classic.
Wanted: Dead is a hybrid slasher/shooter that plays like a lost PS2 disc someone dared to actually finish. It's a hard, weird, gorgeous action game with zero interest in being for everyone. Built by veterans of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, it fuses razor-precise swordplay with third-person gunfire in a combat system that rewards you for being reckless and stylish at the same time.
Combat with teeth.
Chain melee and gunplay into brutal, screen-filling combos. Parry, dismember, and finish enemies with executions that are as grotesque as they are satisfying. Slow the chaos to a crawl in bullet time and then punish everything on screen. The fights are demanding and occasionally unfair.
A week in the life of the Zombie Unit.
You are Lt. Hannah Stone, leading an elite Hong Kong police squad through a neon-soaked corporate conspiracy. It's a linear and story-rich campaign that swerves without warning from grim ultraviolence to something stranger.
Unapologetically weird.
This is a game where you'll finish a brutal boss fight and then sit down to a lovingly rendered ramen-eating minigame, or a round of karaoke, or an arcade cabinet. The whiplash isn't a bug, it's the personality. It's scrappy, pulpy, and self-aware.
Rough around the edges. On purpose.
Wanted: Dead is niche, distinctive, and proud of its jank. If you grew up on Deadly Premonition, Vanquish, and Lollipop Chainsaw and you've been missing games with this much attitude: welcome home.
Key Features.
Melee that means it: A deep hack-and-slash system with a huge move set and finishers built to slice, dice, and dismember.
Guns in the same breath: Flow straight from the blade into a handpicked arsenal of assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, and grenade launchers. Melee and gunplay are one nasty rhythm.
50+ brutal finishers: Over fifty unique execution moves, each more grotesque than the last. Deeply unnecessary and yet absolutely the point.
Neon and grime: A cyberpunk Hong Kong where high-tech hardware collides with retro '90s futurism.
A story that swerves: Ride with the Zombie Unit as they pull apart a massive corporate conspiracy in a dystopian Hong Kong. Linear, story-rich, and prone to going somewhere strange.
Genuinely hardcore: These fights will not be kind to you. Steel up and use everything around you to cut through hordes of mercenaries, synthetics, and private security who very much want you dead.
Old-school beat 'em up, modern edge: Wade in, take everything down, keep moving. It's the beat 'em up you grew up on dragged into the present with more blood and better toys.
A love letter to the sixth console generation: Made for anyone who still misses the PS2 era when action games were weird, scrappy, and cool.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Store page art and description retroactively replaced with AI-generated assets. The store page does not have a disclosure for this, breaking Steam's Terms & Conditions (it already had store assets, why would you even do this????)
Good game but can't support the AI art for the store page.
Ew AI.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 30: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I wanted to enjoy the game, but the combat that half the reviews that extoll how great and fun the combat are - I sit in the other half. Whether using keyboard and mouse, or controller the combat didn't flow or click with me. It felt clunky, you had gunplay that feels kind of tacked on, and swordplay that just didn't respond well. Maybe I had the subconscious expectation to button mash my way through, but there was some latency between what I thought I was doing and what actually happened. The gunplay being poor, means you have to use your sword. This means running into enemies firing guns, so either eat bullets or dodge and weave around obstacles. Thankfully the normal goon NPCs have pretty bad AI. As do your ally NPCs, who do nothing to help you; you know how it is, somehow their bullets and grenades do no damage, and they take no damage. Having said that I did not have the patience to brute past the first mission to see if unlocking abilities improves things in any way (you earn XP on kills that you can spend to buy skills, such as being better at guns, power attacks, etc.). There is nothing to write home about in the first mission either, as something of an opener you do not get a good idea of who your character or the team are, and you run down grey hallways, with grey tables in random places, and some vases you can break. The environment doesn't change much. All-in-all the game summary of "a janky love letter to PS2-era action" did not have to include the jank. If that appeals to you, go for it, but it didn't for me.
Ai Sloop
This has to be one of the WORST games I've ever played in my life. The concept is cool, the main character's design is awesome and the worldbuilding is cool as well; it's just terrible in execution. Case in point are the clunkiness of the game's controls, and how the combat is not smooth at all when it's a COMBAT game. Let me explain: First of all, pressing the ESC key does not bring up the menu, you have to press the TAB key for that. You also can't press the ESC to get out of any menu at all, you press the Backspace key instead. Why anyone thought this was a good idea must have been h*gh out of their minds or haven't played any PC video games in the last 20 years. You want to swing your katana? It's the middle mouse button. You want to block with your katana? It's the SHIFT key. You want to sprint? You have to press the CTRL key. You want to grab items or activate things? Press the ALT Key to do that. Oh and you want to shoot your handgun? You have to tap "E" on your keyboard. And oh my god, reloading your guns is just begging for you to get shot because of how slow it is. But then again, why do you even need to reload your guns? They're practically peashooters and do almost no damage unless you hit a headshot or sink your entire magazine into the enemy. I stopped playing at the Spider-Tank boss. I should have stopped playing a lot earlier. At this point, I think this game was made to troll whoever wasted their money on this. But then again, if you'd rather not know peace, fun or happiness and love being ragebaited; then this is the game for you. Otherwise skip it.
Loved this game but remove the newly-added AI store assets pls, they're tacky and ruin the vibe
Did originally enjoy this some when I played it after getting it within a bundle, despite the myriad of issues with combat, story, and well pretty much everything actually. It's a mess, an especially frustrating one prone to driving me away from the controller for a bit, that can feel as if it's trying too hard to emulate the oddities ya expect from something like Yakuza while falling flat from the charm there. However can't say it'd be worth the chance, even if they put it on heavy sale. Doubly so if they can't even advertise themselves as being confident in what they've put out there by opting to replace what was a perfectly serviceable capsule and banner art with AI generated content that's messy and harsh on the eyes.
wtf happened, adding an ai garbage banner years after launch to a game that had a niche following is probably one of the dumbest things iv seen a company do. the game itself was already niche, this better get reverted
