Prices

Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Sep 4 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The OOTP Franchise is in a weird spot right now, and the reviews of this game reflect that. If you are a new player, you probably would recommend this game based on the depth of OOTP compared to your traditional sports games and if you are an experienced OOTP player you most likely don't recommend it because of the clear drop in quality of the franchise. I am an OOTP player of over 10 years so I do not recommend it. While the sim depth is still fine, it has not been updated to match some of the newer league rules. The waiver logic has never felt worse, and got so bad the devs basically gave up on trying to fix the 5 options a season limit. It sucks to navigate the menus, the game seemingly feels more sluggish every year somehow. The overall feeling for me is OOTP has never felt less valuable for the price, and the price keeps going up. It's like the devs overhauled the ratings system and added the dev lab, and completely stopped trying to add anything worthwhile to the game. Improve the graphics? Nope. Improve AI roster management? Nope. Let's add fog to every game and new difficulty sliders for some reason! I do care about this franchise a lot and will probably continue to play because of the somehow worse state of the console sports games, but it just sucks to know that you are pretty much getting diminishing value from the game that is supposed to be the sports sim leader, and it is pretty much exactly tied to when they introduced perfect team.

This game peaked in 2021 and has gone downhill since, This years version is particularly bad as the pitchers have a hard time developing and signing anyone long term is incredibly high risk as players seem to lose attributes as soon as they enter free agaent years.
Game has been another Com2US pay to play slop with little actual gameplay. Perfect team has got to be one of the most disgustingly aggressive cash grabs i've ever seen. $100usd doessn't even buy you 1 meta player for league play and even that is an rng nightmare where 95% of your choices don't matter. Avoid if you want anything remotely close to baseball.
Terrible memory leak that freezes my machine after an hour. Have to shut down and restart every hour or so. Im part of several online leauges for years and have played since number 5. This is the worst version. Last version was bad as no prospects developed, and the version before after 28 players crumbled.
While I definitely appreciate the attempt to revamp the UI, a lot of it is hit or miss. The management menus are for the most part fine, although the development sliders losing the mid point indicator makes using them more difficult. The sliders in general are more awkward than before, but there are definitely more stat ratings. The in game UI is significantly smaller, so if you wanted more space to see then you get that, but it's just uglier. All the same information is there, in a less appealing overall package. It's harder to find where the info is because everything has been rearranged. One step forward, one step back. I think this UI should be labeled "compact" and should be a toggle. I prefer the previous UI to what they came up with for 27. Scouting was massively nerfed in franchise mode this year. Each stat has it's own individual stat investigation, and even asking for a full scouting report won't really give you that much of an increase. In game animations do look a little more lively, a little more dynamic, and the ball bounces around in the infield more than in prior versions, so visually there are some gains with presentation. The different weather effects are nice to have. Development lab progress bars are a nice addition. You can interrupt a failed dev project, but you can still be hit for some penalties for poor progress. Not sure I would use this feature that often, but doesn't hurt to have it. A very strange update for OOTP. If you're new to the series you probably won't notice it, but for OOTP vets this version of the game is more likely to annoy you than anything else. A fine entry, but wait for a sale regardless.

My dad played minor league baseball in the 1960s. He's in this game! I had to buy it.
OOTP is very deep game. Many levels of Leagues... I've been playing for about 8 years and still find things out that I've not known before! I am a Hard core baseball guy and am addicted to the game and play every day. If you Love baseball, I recommend it totally.
The game is much more in-depth than the 'franchise' mode of MLB The Show, but there's still a few things that come off strange. Contract structuring and trades still feel lacking in the age of deferred contracts and trades on contingency, things that would be nice to include to mirror real-world contracts and exchanges. The lack of players to-be-named-later in trades feel odd, and the idea of having to decide between other GMs preferring prospects or veterans and this not being dependent on current goals like rebuilding or available money (it may be like this and I'm not aware, but it hasn't felt like it in my games) is odd. It also feels like the teams that should win don't always do so; I know the best players don't always mean a 162-0 season, but it's definitely strange that I could have a season with 10 all-stars, including 2021 Judge, Ohtani, Bryant, Baez, Cole, Ray, etc. and still have a losing record. I may be missing something, and I still enjoy the game, but something does feel weirdly off sometimes.
