Listen, I'm gonna be honest with you – and I always am, aren't I? It's not gonna change the world of gaming or anything. But you know what? It's actually quite good. And I don't say that lightly, I've played some proper rubbish in my time. The best bit? You're not stuck being one type of character like some workplace middle manager who can't escape their job description. No, no, no. You can switch everything around whenever you want. Weapons, abilities, the lot. It's like your dad at a buffet – trying everything but not really committing to anything. The fighting's actually quite clever. Sort of like being toastmaster at your best friend's wedding, really - you've got to strategically pick your targets and know exactly where the exit is when it all kicks off. And the boss fights? There's this one called Vail the Immortal. Bit pretentious if you ask me. I mean, if you're immortal, why are you even fighting people? Just go on holiday forever, mate. Now, they've got this thing called an "overdrive meter" – sounds like something from a dodgy car salesman, doesn't it? But it actually works. You fill it up, do some special moves, very nice. And there's these "destiny cards" which is just a fancy way of saying "bonus points," innit? But again, it works. Here's the thing though – and this is where it gets a bit... – there's not much depth to it. You level up and all you get is more health and some points. It's like getting a promotion at work but all you get is a slightly bigger desk and permission to use the good toilet. And the story? Oh God, the story. The main character's about as cheerful as a funeral director with hemorrhoids. And there's this voice that follows you around making sarcastic comments – bit like me, actually, but not nearly as funny. The NPCs are so forgettable, they're like extras in a Christmas panto who didn't even make it to dress rehearsal. But you know what? Despite all that, I kept playing it. It's like a decent pub – nothing fancy, but you know what you're getting, and it does the job. They've added loads of content since release, which is nice. Like getting a free round after you've already had a few. So yeah, if you're looking for some mindless fun – and let's be honest, who isn't these days? – give it a go. Just don't expect it to change your life. It won't. It's not Game of Thrones. And remember, at least it's better than life. That's a joke. Or is it?

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Best Arpg i have played in a long time... fun combat and weapons.. Cool music and Voice acting... was looking forward to the dlcs but reviews have me a bit worried but gotta learn for myself haha Cool jumping mechanic for all your secret location needs. Not Very challenging but extremely fun 8.7/10
This has been in my library for a very long time and finally got around to trying it. In short, the game provides a very similar vibe to Gauntlet. However, I feel this game offers a little more challenge, more visuals, more variation, more items, more options regarding game play, and more of a story compared to the latter. My friend complimented that it resembled Diablo (if that's helpful for any gamers). Not a great game, but a good game which is enjoyed even more with friends. The gameplay is quite fluid the whole way through. The game is presented in an isometric view with a great atmosphere to further entice the player. The controls feel a lot more fluid compared to Gauntlet and a few other similar games. Basic movement controls are included in the game such as jumping and dodging, and they're not as annoying as one would think. These features provide an exit strategy in difficult scenarios and allow the player to move around the map quicker than usual. Unlike other RPG games where dodging seems to be the only way to stay alive, it feels like the player can take a little beating in this game, even on the regular difficulty. I appreciated this as I don't have to button mash to dodge constantly, but enough damage is dealt that the game is expecting the player to do something in order to avoid getting thrashed. Stand still for a bit and goodbye Victor! Victor does have a varying set of abilities to help keep him alive, and even deadlier abilities to decimate enemies. I liked the variety of attack styles presented in the game. The visuals and graphics are actually pretty good. I feel like there is enough on the screen to keep the player on their toes, in addition to special effects that are occurring in the background. The level design itself can also feel different from place to place. I really liked other features such as the user interface and the map. The map shows where the player has been previously (bread-crumb trail without inhibiting map viewing), fantastic feature to include. Obvious effort is demonstrated right from when the player boots up to the game; the cut-scenes are riveting with story and awe. The user interface, especially navigating inventory menus, makes life easy. Superbly well done in this domain. The sounds and music were well done for this game. The noises, weapon impact, spell impact, and interaction with the environment were all suitable to the game's environment. Music was also well done and can adjust as the player progresses through the levels. Overall, I would recommend this game on a sale. I think full price is a little steep, but unless this game absolutely appeals to you and you love the Gauntlet genre of RPGs (or Diablo according to my friend), then go ahead! I think there are certainly a few hours of fun to find within the game, especially with the attack variation the player can play with. I think this is one of the biggest draws in the game is the amount of weapons, armor, specials, and card boosts variety. Like I said, not a great game, but not a bad game - and certainly good to kill some time, especially with friends. I don't play arpgs often (hard to find ones without constant respawns and level-scaling) but this was mostly fun. some of the challenges and boss fights are frustrating, as expected, plus having to restart the whole map to try a challenge again is idiotic, but they're optional and I could finish the game, surprising myself in the process, so it's definitely doable. what I really liked was the card-based build system, making respeccing as easy as replacing one card with another, so I could try different weapon types and tactics without committing to something forever. other games have respec fountains here and there, or want you to farm a billion coins or whatever, not here. and while respawning enemies and level-scaling aren't only major annoyances but actual dealbreakers for me, here they happen in a more subtle way. cleared a level of spiders? next time there will be fire spiders or something. also, as I play everything only once and don't care about grinding or farming rare items and whatnot, I didn't have to revisit places often (or at all, it's been a while). based on the description, I passed on the randomly generated nonsense of the fractured worlds dlc, but the motorhead one is a great addition even if you don't like the band, I don't either. guitars as weapons (they can drop outside the dlc too if it's active), lemmy (rip), new music, etc. could've used more songs though, they get really repetitive really fast.
Finally got around to this one, and while it's a fun, campy hack-and-slash romp in the early game, the cracks start to show before long. * The number one issue is the scaling. You chew through hordes of undead mobs early on, but by the time you hit level 20 or so, even average mobs are tanking hits and completely ignoring your armor and defenses. And that's not even considering the rare/hero mobs, who have big, spongy health pools that you'll spend minutes on end plinking away at. * The game doesn't seems to have two ways of challenging the player: 1. Bullet sponge enemies 2. CC effects Oh god, the CC effects. You'll learn to hate any enemy that deals frost damage, because the effect slows you down significantly (god help you if you're trying to use a hammer against these enemies), it procs immediately with no buildup, and most of the frost attacks aren't dodgeable. Have fun playing in slow motion! Speaking of dodging, I almost don't understand why it's in the game. Dodging doesn't give Souls-style i-frames, which is fine, but it also doesn't move you far or fast enough to actually DODGE attacks. It's basically a sidestep, and I found myself constantly trying to dodge enemy attacks, only for my dodge to literally not move me out of the way. Victor just somersaults and gets hit anyway, and the insane tracking on some attacks (looking at you, Cleansing Flame enemies) makes trying to escape a total chore. I'm complaining a lot, but I think it's justified. If you can get this on a deep, deep sale, play the first act or so and put it down. It's fun enough to kill an afternoon smacking skeletons and taking in the spooky, corny atmosphere.
Victor Vran brings something new to the table when compared to the most famous ARPGs out there who all share pretty much the same systems (and devs). It brings weapons based gameplay, and at first it's great because the weapons are varied and very fun to play. There's a weird magic system that's you can't really use until you equip a costume, but it's not very well develloped, and a card system that's interesting but that doesn't really bring enough good synergies. But the worst point is that after about the 30th level, you hit a snag and the weapons and powers have a limit to how much you can level them up. Which is a fatal mistake because the main point of an ARPG is to constantly upgrade to stay on top of the curve. So at some point in the game, less than half the maps in, you start slipping and feeling under powered. Plus that makes the game boring, because if you remove grinding from an ARPG, all that's left is boring mobs. A lot of enemies have gimmicks that are more annoying than anything (undeads have to be killed twice, some enemies go into dormant state so you have to wait before you can damage them, etc...). Levelup doesn't seem to have any purpose other than to make the enemy stronger and faster to the point that by level 10 you can't kite them anymore. I wonder if the game isn't easier if you just don't change your level It's a pity because the engine and gameplay feeling are great and actually better than some other ARPG big names. The production is okay despite the casualness of the developers, and the voices are rather good. But the humor is often cringe and the game feels obliged to constantly serve you mid-2000s pop culture references (gangnam style, arrow to the knee, etc), which is so cringe. First of all, I would like to thank Doug Cockle, the English voice actor of the character Geralt Of Rivia, who we are familiar with from the game world. That magnificent voice made me love a game again. Because of the isometric point of view of the ARPG game genre, many people cannot warm up to it. If the expression is true, they say "♥♥♥♥ such a game" and delete it, but Victor Vran can keep you hooked and keep you in the game in about 10 hours with its complete weapon variety and storyline. I think it is an ARPG game that should be tried. Enjoyable games.
