Wow, even better then the first one which I rated just under Grimrock 1. Still not a flawless game, but definitely my new number 1 dungeon crawler I'd recommend to people trying out the genre. I do recommend playing this one before Vaporum 1 (makes more sense from story point of view, also it's the better one, so if you don't like this one no need to buy the first one). If you have ever considered trying out the genre or are already a rabid fan this game is a strong recommendation. +++Map/Puzzle design (much better flow in the maps and even better puzzles in this one) ++Atmosphere (even better then the first one, it was fun exploring this steampunk-esque tower) +Hub (we get a sort of hub in this one, which I liked cause I was hoarding all items in that spot, which btw there is 0 reason to do ^^;) +Time-freeze mechanic (carried over from the first 1 which is still my new favorite mechanic in dungeon crawlers) +Build variety (feels a lot better in this one, mainly due to a few more levelups and tweaked effects) +Final boss originality (even better then the final boss from the first one) =Breakable walls (they could have been just slightly more noticeable in a few places) =Hidden buttons (they are a few that are quite far from the door/thing they affect) =Combat Difficulty (this one is hard to judge, I played on hard and didn't have to use a single consumable the entire game but I did use the time-freeze mechanic a LOT, rebound to mouse 4) =Story (not bad, but not super engaging either) -Ambushes (most of the fights still have to lock you in a small room to be dangerous, then again, I used no consumables) -Auto-save (it's quite noticeable and warns you about upcoming dangers)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There are many better puzzle dungeon crawlers than this one. But Its still worth a play if you like the genre.
I really thought giving this one a thumbs down. The main reason being that the ration of puzzles you have to complete is sky high. Compared to the first game, this takes the whole new level, I would say, is about for every 1 fight there will be 2 puzzles you gotta solve afterwards. And many of them are not even fun, requiring a lot of going back and forward to solve them, it just takes so damn long to complete. A year may have passed since I played the previous game, but Lockdown felt too tedious to get through, I do like it a bit (not as much as the first) since it does keep the same gameplay. I liked the first half, it may have been filled with puzzles but they did not require as much going back and it kept things simple, but ohh boy as more you get through the story the more levels/zones you will unlock, and some objectives require you to go through them, and not just once. Also, most puzzles are the kind which kill you after 1 mistake or two, so, Quick Save and stop time feature will be your BFFS in this game. Like I mentioned, it does keep mostly of the same gameplay from the first game, many enemies will be similar, much of the tech tree is the same, even graphics look very close to each other. However, the gameplay does feel smoother compared to the previous. I do like that since it keeps a nice, smooth progression through the games, after all, both take place in the same tower. If you really enjoyed the first game, then sure grab it, but take this 1 with a grain of salt, if not put it in the backlog, behind Grimrock, Might & Magic, Eye of Beholder and even some of those anime style ones like Etrian Odyssey. Heck if it wasn’t for the tedious puzzles I would fully rec. this game, some really suck; there are plenty such puzzles in the second half, I got through it by using walkthroughs at this point. BTW, make sure you save up on your repair kits, the last boss is a hp magnet (or at least it was for me cuz I had a tank build), additional enemies spawn and has some big AOE attacks, you will get hit!
Back in 2021, I had purchased a bundle with both the first game and second game in this series. A lot of time has gone by since I had tried the first game and got very sick playing it, due to forced head movement in it. 5 years later, after reading how different this game was supposed to be, I apprehensively decided to try it. It is unfortunate, but the problem has not been corrected in this game. I disabled all motion blurring, head bob, used the "Classic" movement, and so on to try to prevent my view bobbing. And the moment I stopped because the tutorial had me open my inventory, my character started looking around on their own accord, making me feel sick again. I swear I turned everything off to disable this, but when I pressed ESC to double check the game settings, the game completely froze on me, and I had to terminate it to use that screen again. The little forced motion already made me feel sick. I'm not going to try again. I cannot play this, as cool as it sounds and looks...
There are a lot of good puzzles, and a bit less fights than in previous one. And there are a lot of notes, that slowing the pacing, but you can always skip them. And it is still is a good dungeon crawler. So if you like first person dungeon crawlers with moderate amount of puzzles you should definitely try this one out.
Good game like the first one and others of the same type. By the end of the game tho, maybe I was just tired when I played but some puzzle I needed some help with, had to cheat a little to find some of the solutions cause I was stuck. The end was meh. Still would recommand cause not many games of this genre.
10/10 Great fun.
