An amazing experience about the dystopian world we live in.
An enjoyable photo taking game with something to ascertain from the experience of a pre-apcolyptic event. The combination of the art direction and soundtrack really make the playthrough almost zen like for me. The photo objectives actually get you to take some photos in particular ways that create a enjoyable result that actually had me thinking more so about composition then I would of others wise. Not too long either. Again, special mention to the OST, this is my jam.

One of the things I really appreciate about Umurangi Generation is how deliberately it highlights the difference between the human eye and a camera — even if it means sacrificing clarity for the player. What I mean is, thanks to our eyes' ability to adapt to light and dark, we often see a scene as bright enough, but when we actually take a photo, it can come out nearly black. The game reproduces this disconnect in a really honest way. As you progress, you unlock tools like flash, various post-processing options, manual ISO settings, and so on. This gradually closes the gap between what your eye can see and what the in-game camera can capture, making you think carefully about how you want to shoot.
Pretty darn awful game. Superb art style is the only plus to this game, everything else is shallow and boring.
I'm not really into photography games, but the aesthetic and the environmental story telling hooked me.
This game lets you do whatever you want with a camera. You unlock so many lenses and filters, the music in this game is so peak its actually crazy, the art stile is beatiful and they made it very straight forward to use the camera. I can't believe how underated this game is. HIGHLY RECCOMEND! Especially to people that love photography. The only thing wrong with game is one of my achievments refuses to unlock TSPMO. 9.9/10
Genuinely great. It's a fun, simple indie puzzler on the outside with a much deeper and engaging inside told through the scenery and worldbuilding. The gameplay is mostly you running and jumping around levels and completing bounties, that is: taking pictures of specific things in the level to complete it and get more kit. Naturally as you explore and take pictures of the world, the world's story seeps out. The devs did a wonderful job on this and game is a masterclass in environmental storytelling. The vibes are great, helped by a great soundtrack and I couldn't help but be drawn in. You'll find yourself zooming in and focussing on things around the levels that both fill in the blanks and make you ask more questions It also helps that, occasionally janky platforming aside, the game has a really chill (but not happy) energy, the penalty for falling off a building is... you fell off and have to get back up there to get the shot. It's kind of casual in that way. Basically, If you liked the kind of storytelling experienced in Paper's Please, where you just try to get by in an awful world, you'll love this.
-------------------- Great photography game set in an intriguing futuristic world, each level gives us some bits of knowledge about the game world and the authoritarian regime in which our group of characters lives by observing the environment. Many things are left to interpretation, the game does not give explicit answers, but event without understand everything there's a lot to enjoy by exploring the different and diverse places while achieving our photo goals! The photo mechanics has a wide range of customization options, from different lens to filter effects, that let us express our creativity if wanted!
Love the art style and the OST.
