TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.
The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.
10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.
All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.
Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.
There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.
Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.
As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

The Standard of Modern SRPG.
Legitimately one of the best turned based games of all time. Wish we saw more from this developer. Just when you think you've unlocked all customization possibilities, there's more with new characters in your roster. I would literally trade my left nut for a sequel.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This has easily become of of my favorite Tactical Rpgs of all time, the game play, story, music, and characters are all incredibly well done. Missions feel fresh with the diversity of goals and challenges. Character arcs are super well written and i'm only a bit halfway through. Another bonus is that the game has checkpoints so if you happen to be 40 minutes into a mission and have an enemy escape or you make a mistake, you're not severely punished. Combat feels great, you're not plagued by X-Com hit chance, but you're also not invincible. The few downsides though, side quests feel kinda terrible as they are just miscellaneous equipment that will either get instantly replaced or is usually worse. There is no English Audio, didn't bother me but might turn off others. The police A.I can be really dumb if you don't nudge them along the way. 8.5/10 Absolutely would recommend this.
I don't usually write reviews, but upon reading some decided to do so now. I too, found this game through a meme. It didn't even appear as a suggestion from Steam (which I guess Steam did a ♥♥♥♥ job because I played the bejeezus out of the xcoms). Bottom line: The game is FUN. The characters are FUN. The combat is FUN. I didn't catch friendly fire yet, don't know if it exists in the game, but the hit chance displayed feels MUCH more accurate than the X-com games (no 3 97% hit chance misses in a row for example). I also saw someone having issues with the English localization - nope. Either it was fixed by the time I started playing, or it was never an issue. The way it's written gives a very specific vibe that fits the story. So do the clothes, and outfits. I didnt progress too far yet, but I don't think my opinion will change for the worse. It even lets you play as the "bad guys" occasionally, and other characters. Did I say IT'S FUN yet? The ONLY nitpick is the mastery system. It might be my personal retardation, but I'm not entirely sure how the research works yet... It seems to be fine, as I manage to click things and get things, but not much logical thinking on my end is involved :)

This is a labour of love. Yes, there is jank. But it's the HOLY MOLEY THEY TRIED SO HARD AND GOT SO FAR jank, not the I PAID 60 BUCKS, WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE A DECENT GAME jank. The Mastery system is interesting, the different characters are _muy_ different, it oozes ambition and ideas. Are some parts a bit undercooked? Sure, but there are so many ideas that you'll eat your fill regardless. If your idea of a great time is "I wonder what would happen if someone went into their shed and made a loveable XCOM: Enemy Unknown, ADD edition" this is your jam.
Great game, would highly recommend. The amount of game play for the price is incredible and im really looking forward to see what this developer releases next. If you like TBT's or RPG's this is a must. Excellent 10/10!
It's an Anime RPG x X-Com. Fun gameplay and progression, likeable many characters, interesting worldbuilding, all of the mentioned interwoven into an intricate storyline. It's also a theory builders' heaven. It's not without flaws, but given how enjoyable the game is, they can be ignored. Would recommend to tactical RPG enjoyers.
