TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.
The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.
10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.
All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.
Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.
There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.
Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.
As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

I don't usually write reviews, but upon reading some decided to do so now. I too, found this game through a meme. It didn't even appear as a suggestion from Steam (which I guess Steam did a ♥♥♥♥ job because I played the bejeezus out of the xcoms). Bottom line: The game is FUN. The characters are FUN. The combat is FUN. I didn't catch friendly fire yet, don't know if it exists in the game, but the hit chance displayed feels MUCH more accurate than the X-com games (no 3 97% hit chance misses in a row for example). I also saw someone having issues with the English localization - nope. Either it was fixed by the time I started playing, or it was never an issue. The way it's written gives a very specific vibe that fits the story. So do the clothes, and outfits. I didnt progress too far yet, but I don't think my opinion will change for the worse. It even lets you play as the "bad guys" occasionally, and other characters. Did I say IT'S FUN yet? The ONLY nitpick is the mastery system. It might be my personal retardation, but I'm not entirely sure how the research works yet... It seems to be fine, as I manage to click things and get things, but not much logical thinking on my end is involved :)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This has easily become of of my favorite Tactical Rpgs of all time, the game play, story, music, and characters are all incredibly well done. Missions feel fresh with the diversity of goals and challenges. Character arcs are super well written and i'm only a bit halfway through. Another bonus is that the game has checkpoints so if you happen to be 40 minutes into a mission and have an enemy escape or you make a mistake, you're not severely punished. Combat feels great, you're not plagued by X-Com hit chance, but you're also not invincible. The few downsides though, side quests feel kinda terrible as they are just miscellaneous equipment that will either get instantly replaced or is usually worse. There is no English Audio, didn't bother me but might turn off others. The police A.I can be really dumb if you don't nudge them along the way. 8.5/10 Absolutely would recommend this.

인생 최고의 게임 트러블슈터2를 열심히 기다리는 중
A brilliant game for X-com addicts who want fun without frustration. The 'X-com lite' games Chimera Squad and Phoenix Point remove the pressure of one-wrong-move permadeath and the enthralling tension of the original X-com with it. Troubleshooters eliminates both permadeath and save scumming, with a single save, replayable missions, and characters who bounce back from incineration or decapitation simply by eating some snacks with their friends. The levels are sufficiently large and packed with enemies that the imperative to equip and deploy your troops well remains, but the worst that can happen is redoing the level rather than tediously replaying a whole X-com campaign, often several times over the first few missions. The mastery, drone crafting and beast training mechanics are richly intricate and almost entirely reversible for alternative builds within a single campaign. Turn-based combat of unique fighters with a panoply of special attacks and abilities unfolds over beautiful maps of graffiti-bright cityscapes, fantastic wilderness and gritty slums, with detailed environmental effects. The level of difficulty and access to new tactical options both ramp up rather slowly, but to a satisfying mid and endgame thoroughly adjustable in difficulty. There are no irreversible strategic options that would make a replay into a different game, but a single campaign can be extended indefinitely with replayable scenarios and an almost superfluously large range of skills. There are very much superfluous systems such as rent, wages and jurisdictions that have very little effect on the game, but other systems such as drones and beasts that could be managed without are worth having for fun and interest. The plot is certainly the weakest aspect, crammed with platitudes, nonsensical developments and loose threads; the Black Tiger subplot and Albus' internship blues were egregiously daft. The characters absolutely carry the story, however, with an energetic, lovable, improbably dressed but gorgeously designed band of true companions hacking away at the endless hordes, as well as some memorably styled villains. I cared a great deal for all the heroes of this fun, stylish and potentially challenging turn-based game.
I will never stop supporting the devs of this wonderful game. This is like XCOM 2 if it was more character-focused, what I mean by that is that all of the characters in this game feel very personalized and fit an obvious role. Don't get me wrong, I love XCOM 2 but this game is much more in-depth when it comes to building a character. If you liked XCOM 1-2 you will very likely enjoy this game. When troubleshooter 2 comes out it is absolutely an insta-buy for me.
I was looking for a turn based strategy game and saw this recommended on one of the forums , it was available on sale in steam and i have to say it was more than i hoped for (and slightly less than i deserved by the end) I put in more than 170 hours into the game and finished both the DLCs mostly on normal (and the last few missions on safe - more about that later) First thing first - If you enjoy tactical turn based strategy with a good story and characters you can build relations with , this is an excellent pickup and you will enjoy your time with it, But if you do not enjoy complex mechanics and do not wish to put too much effort into optimizing your character builds to gain mastery or grinding for power then you may lose interest later on. It starts of fairly straight forward but it really stacks up mechanics over mechanics in the main game , and by the time you start the DLC if you dont min max you are unlikely to get ahead even on easy difficulty. And it doesnt do a very good job of explaining things (the mediocre translation doesnt help on top) It can get overwhelming pretty quickly. A Diamond of a game with a few minor flaws. Pros: The gameplay - with a few minor grievances (like cover not making much sense) the gameplay is how you expect a tactical turnbased rpg to go the customization - you can spend more than half the time theory crafting (and half of the remainder testing the theiry), the story - a good story though gets a little confusing and convoluted after some time, the charcters - each feels distinct and relatable, Cons: Complexity - its too much , too many stats , too many masteries , too many crafting hoops , too many unique effects, Difficulty spikes - this is mostly after the DLCs , it really hits you unexpectedly and changing difficulty level doesnt help.. following the story (yes it is a pro and a con cause the translation makes it awkward and many things feel incomplete) Grindy - this goes into the difficulty spikes , you will need specific gear and masteries to progress comfortably,
Had this in my library for years, tried it when I bought it for a few hours then forgot about it because at the time it didn´t jive with me. Got a hankering for some turn based tactics and decided to give it a shot again and this time really give it a chance. It´s a lot of fun once you start understanding how it works. I really like the characters and the character art is good. Backgrounds ,environments , maps and such is not as good but functional and good enough and I can forgive that since it´s not a huge budget game so not a huge budget price either. Lots of fun building your characters with the skills you unlock. Tons of content.
