pretty good
Being a Dictator is fun.
[3/5] Good. This is a good city builder, although it does not work like a normal city builder. Each level is more of a unique puzzle to be solved, and the mechanics mean you don't have direct control, but ultimately you guide your citizens using various means to keep them voting for you.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

"All this talk of robots taking jobs. Don't worry, just work harder!"
¡Viva Tropico y viva El Presidente!
The entire archipelago setup is poorly done and absurd. Would be cool if it was a couple big islands and some usable space but more often than not its just stupid small strings of islands and wasted map space. The boats between islands are nice and fun, but 9/10 of the maps are just dumbly setup. You get almost nothing with Tropico 6 compared to past games. No real campaign, they just skipped that and give you a limited number of scenarios and sandbox maps. They also removed your family/dynasty, being able to improve your leader, and a lot of the other systems folks enjoyed. Tropico 6 with all the DLC is maybe about 50% at best of what Tropico 5 was. I mean several of the DLCs literally give you one new scenario map and thats it. All of the basics for Tropico are there, the game just seems a very poor addition after Trop 5. With that said, even a lot of the maps in Trop 6 are not new, just copied from previous games. There is not much that is actually new or improved, just copied from Trop 5 and they touched up the graphics a bit. All of the missions are pretty terribly setup too, most start with a developed island so all the buildings are poorly placed or unneeded. Since there is no continuous story you dont get to start off fresh in any mission, just jump into a poorly planned map to fix it. I maybe hit 20hrs on Trop 6, and am already quitting whereas I had 100s of hrs in Trop 5. For example one mission I stated says you need to build Tropicoland, yet when you start you have a mostly developed island that is nowhere anywhere close to making a tourist setup. Poorly placed factories, sh*tty power setup that no one uses, and most the island space wasted on un-needed poorly placed buildings. Trop 6 is really missing the fun, continuous play of Trop 5. I mean the Tropicoland mission would be hella fun if it actually let you fully play the map (which is nice and unique). Trop 5 was way better since most the island you started from a tiny start and played through the eras over multiple missions and different islands. Even as I am writing this review, I am reinstalling Tropico 5 and not bothering to finish Trop 6. Idk, there is just nothing for a story connecting everything in Trop 6. What is the point banking personal stolen cash when it is gone at the end of the level and basically useless most of the missions. It's just baffling how Trop 5 was the best in the series and they decided to remove all the things from 5 that made it fun when they made 6. 6 is really just like a scenario pack for trop 5.
Best way too kill time, I wish I was El Presidente!!! A fun game very addictive
