As someone who survived the trauma of Tropico 5, I approached Tropico 6 like a nervous rescue dog meeting a new owner. But within minutes I realised: oh thank God, they remembered what Tropico is supposed to be. Tropico 6 feels like Tropico 4 looked at Tropico 5, whispered “pathetic”, and then strutted onto the stage cosplaying as El Presidente in his finest regalia El Presidente is BACK. Not the cardboard cutouts from Tropico 5. The real one. The chaotic dictator who micromanages an entire island while wearing sunglasses indoors. The humour returns from exile. Tropico 5 locked it in a basement. Tropico 6 lets it run free, steal the Eifel Tower and blame the rebels. The islands! The bridges! The heists! Tropico 6 basically said: “What if Tropico… but MORE Tropico?” Compared to Tropico 5? Tropico 6 doesn’t just beat Tropico 5. It drags Tropico 5 into the ocean, lectures it about disappointing the family, and then sails away on a pirate ship made of taxpayer money. Tropico 5 was a reboot nobody asked for. Tropico 6 is the apology letter written in gold ink. If Tropico 4 was peak Tropico, Tropico 6 is the glorious sequel it always deserved. It’s fun, it’s chaotic, it’s political satire with a tan, and it proves Tropico 5 was just a weird fever dream we all collectively agreed to forget. Highly recommended. Viva El Presidente

Es macht Spaß. Ich hab als letzten Teil Tropico 4 gespielt und es ist vom Spielaufbau ziemlich gleich, aber mit Abwechslung durch neue Missionen und neue Gebäude. Was ich schade finde, ist, dass es nicht mehr (zumindest mir nicht ersichtlich) die Erfahrungsstufen der Menschen in ihren Berufen gibt. Außerdem überdeckt das kleine rechte Menü bei mir zur Hälfte das Kreuz zum Schließen des großen mittleren Menüs.
