Was going to play for nostalgic purposes. it asked to make a ubisoft account. "uninstall"

if i could put mixed i would. this game is not bad, but a little rough. combat is way more difficult, and not very balanced for solo play. the atmosphere is the game is phenomenal though. a snowy abandoned new york city is an extremely good setting.

What an absolute slog. 40 hours to get through most of the story and side missions and hunt down a bunch of the collectibles. The movement doesn't feel great, and the map is frustratingly closed off. It's also incredibly repetitive, with very little new information or plot development across the story missions, some of which I'd sworn I'd done before because the environment and objectives were so similar.

I remember when this game first came out. It looked exciting, fresh and the pre release gameplay looked amazing! Then the trailer came out and the actual game wasnt as pretty or quite as exciting and aside from. A run through 10 years ago, ive never really thought about it. I picked it up again for my Steam Deck though and I'm so glad I did. I've had some real fun with this! Firstly on the Deck it runs smooth as a nut. The graphics and atmosphere look great and the story holds up pretty well. The gameplay, once you get your head around how to play properly is pretty fun too. The DLCs I didnt really touch but the main game and Dark Zone I really did enjoy. The game is a bit empty now, collecting collectables can be tedious as is any Ubi game but very manageable compared to others (Glares in AC Valhalla). Enemies can be a bit bullet spongey and ubi servers arent reliable but i'm really surprised by how much I enjoyed this.
