Very fun to play. can't stop playing everyday. It's a good alternative to the board game when you are on your own. Can't even imagine how to calculate all these stuff on the board. Very much like a simple version of Civilisation. It would be much better if there is more challenges and playmode.

One of the worse games in existence. Gemini described the game as permitting "last minute muggings" and a "Punishment Engine" instead of a Civ-Builder. Players above Lvl 40 will game the system and stock up on Patriotisms and stone and a 10 strength tactic and in the last 3 turns of the game, they will surprise launch into endless wars, quadrupling their tactic and spitefully singling one player for a relentless beating from which the game design does not permit one to recover from. Rather than being called Through the Ages a more apt name for this in-balanced abomination of a so-called "strategy" game should be "Quadruple Your Tactics", or it could be called "War of Culture" or perhaps more simple just "Strength". Because at the end, despite it's so-called "elegant" balance, this game comes down to a single metric "Strength". And the sad thig is, the developers could fix this with ease. 1) they could allow players online to "switch off" wars. No one likes the war mechanic in this game except for 6-year-old Neanderthalic-minded simpletons who content themselves to have a "civilization" with no buildings: just mines, farms, and a blood-thirty slave army that can somehow pilot jet fighters and take away the culture of actual intelligent, balanced players. When did that ever happen in history? Rome didn't take away the culture of Greece. The UK took some Egyptian artifacts but that didn't permanently erase Egyptian history and culture. Maybe the UK gained some culture by copy-catting or displaying a mummy in a museum, but Egypt didn't lose what it created. No one today says, wow, those English, they sure knew how to create mummies. So, these so-called "Creators" of this so-called strategy game that is easily broken by strength alone, could permit intelligent players who want to build engines to turn off the broadly-hated unbalanced war mechanic, and 2) they should fix wars and make them more intelligent. Not just some brutish vengeful quadrupling of horses and cannons, which any Neanderthal could or chimp could do by banging on their keyboard while drunk. Modern wars should be like "IP Theft" or something where you can gain VPs if your science and production is higher than your opponent's. Physical wars, should allow a player to gain (not suck away like a vampire) only up to 50% of their strength difference, or a maximum of 15 at a time. I mean, c'mon, the developers absolutely know their game is hopelessly broken online, where the last hour of game play is ALL about building horses and cannons and nothing else. It's tense, it's draining, it's a waste of everyone's time. Fix your broken war-mongering game.
Fun board game, well executed app.
Not only is this a bad boardgame, just incredibly boring, this digital version is especially crap. Of all the digital adaptations of boardgames I've played, this one is ugly, bland, poorly laid out, and just not worth the money paid. Wish I'd got a refund instead of sticking with it, assuming it had to get better. It doesn't get better.
