Fun game with a gameplay similar to the first games in the GTA series, but filled to the brim with pop culture and retro gaming references. Lots of comedy and a simple yet satisfying gameplay based around combat and driving. Definitely worth checking out if you're into that.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is legit a thing of it's time. The somewhat corny referential humour everywhere, the whole retro thing going on. It's by all accounts shameless and younger me ate it up, it's a definitely fun lil game to come back to once in a while. Soundtrack absolutely slaps, sucker for chiptune
I fw media that doesn't take itself very seriously. This game has that effortless charm. This game is like an eccentric & cool older brother. 10/10. If you fw Saints Row 2, 3 & 4 this is definitely gon your cup of tea.
I love this game so much I've bought five different ports of it and gifted it to a few of the homies. Not only is this game packed to the brim with incredibly fun, cathartic, interesting, addictive content, but this game is a monument to optimization - something basically all AAA studios just totally throw to the wall expecting everyone who wants to enjoy their games to have 6769 RTX Super GPUs in order to be able to run them at all. This game's complete, entire folder on this PC is 20.6MB. I could probably take my crusty dusty WinXP laptop out of the storage unit and probably run this game with zero issue. This game is also the app on my Android devices that is of the smallest filesize as a complete game that isn't infested with ads unlike other mobile games that play them twice every minute. Anyway, this game is wonderfully tailor-made for cathartic gamers like me that want to blow up everything and laugh about ♥♥♥♥ in my downtime. VBlank has a 100% track record that checks all the boxes and embraces that the video game is a video game. The pixel art is absolutely magnificent. The gameplay is accommodating to being how fun the player wants it to be. If nothing else, VBlank have left their footprints in the sand of the gaming industry by releasing the last official Wii game - the masterpiece that is Shakedown Hawaii. Fortunately, I've circumvented the Wii's region lock and have the ability to force 240p to play on my CRT - the way every retro-aesthetic game God meant for them to be played. There are some missions that are difficult and trying on the player, but they know what they're getting into when they initiate them. My only wish is that there was a co-op game mode in this and Shakedown Hawaii so my dad and I can play it together simultaneously. I know he'd love it. Actually, Shakedown can be pretensed in a way that allows for 3-player co-op, come to think of it. That'd be siiiiiiiick In any case, VBlank, I stay thoroughly impressed with your work, and I absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love these games. Please release an Android port of Shakedown? I'd buy it many times over. This and Shakedown are 10/10 games.
Might be OK on a big PC screen... on Steam Deck it's just unplayable. Controls are manageable at best, visuals are often unreadable, music is highly repetitive and gets annoying fast. It's a GTA wannabe (the 1st one), but it failed to rise to the occasion. Visuals in the trailer are zoomed-in for a reason.
its an 8-bit blast! kinda like a GTA but made in the early 90s...
Couldnt get GTA 1-2 on here so i got ShakedownHawaii & RetroCityRampage, close enough i guess. Woudl Recommend
Awful,just awful and boring.
I can't believe I sat on this game for so long!! I've had this game forever and only just jumping in now to realize how much I LOVE this game! There's a JACKAL inspired level!?!? Are you kidding!? That's like one of my favorite games of all time!! I can't wait to play more of this game. It's so fun and the gameplay keeps changing and getting better without leaving anything behind! I'm so happy with this game!
