While lots of the mechanics were fun, like armor destruction and directional parry (although I basically never used it because it was too hard for me to do consistently) the story was hard to pay attention and care about and the enemies felt downright unfun most of the time. Weapon and armor design was really cool but some weapons just felt unusable compared to others. Final boss was good though, especially compared to the boss before the final one. I probably would't have gotten this game if it wasn't on sale and would only "recommend" this game if you enjoy difficult games
I tried the first one, and even finished it despite being awful. This one isn't better. Forgot where I dropped it, but would never recommend it to anyone as there are better souls-likes there. It is really bad.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i got this game for 2 pounds... i want a refund. The surge was, in my eyes, a game with potential ruined by bad combat. i am glad to see that the second game kept that awful combat where all the enemies do 1/2 of your health. Also why are we in a boring city? exploring the factory was more interesting in the original.
In this game, you don't know where to go always !
The Surge 2 is a Sci-Fi Souls-Like with added depth and limitations regarding gear management, yet with limited build variety. The combat feels great, amazing, and can make you feel bada$$ once you got a hold on to it, however, the 2nd half of the game starts to feel less polished and more linear, and the entire game's bosses are uninspired, repeated, or derivative from common mobs. The first half of the game is an amazing exploration experience with true discovery. The 2nd half of the game is requiring you to go through those same places again, which can make late game feel rehashed at times, even though there are new areas. These new areas have less content put into them, even though are far more interesting than early game. The limb targeting system is great, but can make feel a little grindy at times with how you acquire upgrade materials and new equipment. The weapons are amazing and feel very unique from each others weapon type. Regarding equipment and gear management, you have a cell limit equal to your level. For each piece of gear and active/passive item you equip, it consumes a specific amount of cells. While the game never challenges you super hard with this, it was a nice added thing, that should have made harder choices than it actually did. This game does exploration and mob enemies so well. Definitely my favorite thing about this game. I just wish the 2nd half had more challenge I would recommend this game to people if they already love souls-like games,
A different take on a Soulslike that does a lot of things right. Definitely would recommend
有些地方画面很暗,跟剧情无关无意义的对话很多,引导差,地图为了开近路而开,一个存档点六七个门
this game REALLY loves to crash everytime it can except that its just very unclear where ur supposed to go
